Deputy Prime Minister Teo Chee Hean said on Tuesday, June 27, that the ministerial committee he chairs was tasked to “study and set out the range of possible options” for the Lee family home at 38 Oxley Road, and present them to the Cabinet. He reiterated that there is no need to make any decision on the house now and even if a decision is made by the current government, it does not bind a future government. This view, DPM Teo said, is also shared by Lee Hsien Yang, whose sister, Lee Wei Ling, is still living in the 38 Oxley Road house and there is no indication she is moving out in the near future. DPM also indicated that he favoured intermediate options for the Lee family house. This means that he does not personally support the options on the extreme ends of the range, such as preserving the house as it is, or demolishing it to redevelop it for new private residences. T...
