Singaporean Olympic Gold medallist Joseph Schooling’s 2017 New Year’s resolution was clear-cut enough. “My mission, my goal is to prove that it’s not a fluke, (that) I am the best and I am going to keep being the best”, he told TODAY newspaper. It is only two months into 2017 and Schooling, in record-breaking fashion, has fulfilled his New Year resolution. In two days, Schooling, 21, has already broken two records: 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly — at the Big 12 Swimming and Diving Championships. The Big 12 is a 10-school multi-sport competition. On Thursday, Feb. 23, he broke an eight-year-old 50-yard freestyle record with his 18.76s performance On Friday, he smashed the 100-yard butterfly swim meet record of 44.62s that was set by him last year.
