Family-friendly StarHub censors broadcast of woman with nice legs holding up sign with offensive word

Viewers in Singapore watching the live broadcast of Taiwan’s 26th Golden Melody Awards (金曲獎) held in Taipei on June 27, 2015, were prevented from watching one segment of the show. According to The Online Citizen , a spokesperson from StarHub confirmed that “Yes, a short segment was blocked off as it featured an offensive message.” The programme was disrupted with a StarHub message when singer Huang Wei-Chieh stepped onto the red carpet with two banners with Chinese words that said, “Today Dapu, Tomorrow the Government (今天拆大埔,明天拆政府). A tagline below the Chinese words said “Fxxk the government”. This protest was in reaction to the forced eviction of residents at Dapu, Taiwan. Huang was nominated in the best Hakka album category.
