PAP should come out with more compassionale policies

The government has taxed the people a lot. This is reflected in the large reserves that we have accumulated. Why then is there not enough government aid and services going to the poor? Why do we always treat the word “welfare” as if it is a dirty word? Why is the word compassion not in our political vocabulary? Very often money is spent helping big businesses and rewarding the elites. Infrastructure is built to help facilitate their operations. Tax incentives are given especially during an economic downturn when workers are expected to take pay cuts. Companies are allowed to employ foreign workers to keep their expenditure low. Corporations pay low taxes while at the same time the poor pay a large proportion of their income through GST. Welfare may be frowned upon but obviously wealthfare is not. Singapore is a country where socialism is for the rich.
