Singapore's historical links with Sun Yet Sen is overplayed

My main article is actually about Teo Chee Hean's up-play of Chinese-ness, which is very polarizing. He used the "Chinese diaspora", which has negative meaning. It would mean that the SE Asian Chinese were forced from their Motherland into slavery in Spore/Msia. However, the Chinese (and Indians) were brought into SE Asia by the Brits, and these migrants were not forced into slavery. Many of them sent money home to feed their families, proving that they came here for economic reasons. It was a win-win affair. Lim Chin Siong and Chin Peng, on the other hand, used the Chinese Nationalism ideal (triggered by Sun Yet Sen) long after his death. They instigated the crowds and played up the "Brits oppressed us" card.
