Designer Spotlight: Andy Yap of Andy Bandy

Andy Yap of Andy Bandy lets us in on his journey + inspirations in this week's Designer Spotlight.

I’m currently working on the Spring/Summer 2013 collection, which should be out around February. The collection reflects the strength in Andy Bandy women. It’s a play of the woman’s body and its sexual energy. I depicted details from the baroque era, evolving them into modern silhouettes and patterns. It’s a very relaxed collection — most of the looks are loose fitting and over-sized, but still possess vintage glamour. I’ll also be releasing a men’s collection, which will be a mix of inspiration from the women’s collection with bohemian culture. My first men’s collection should strongly depict my ideals for the Andy Bandy man — a strong, rebellious and liberated man, who’s very unconventional with metrosexual glamour.
