The stark difference between attending a PR event as a blogger and a non-blogger:

Earlier this week, I participated in a Facebook contest by a brand of coffee machines in Singapore. They were having a celebration party for their first year anniversary on Saturday, and were giving away invites to the party through their Facebook app contest. I participated under the pre-text of checking out the app (which was pretty well-executed as a simple Facebook app) and surprisingly, I won. An executive from the PR agency of the brand contacted me. I assume they were the ones managing the Facebook page and this campaign. She emailed me on Wednesday, and asked me to respond by Thursday. Initially I wasn’t sure if I wanted to go, as I had a pretty packed weekend ahead. But then I found a couple of friends who said they wouldn’t mind going with me, as they also used the same brand of coffee machines.
