Final two takeaways from #adtechsg: mobile advertising not = mobile and integration is everything - thoughts?

2 Takeaways From Ad:Tech Singapore 2012 Day Two (#adtechsg) June 14, 2012 – 5:38 pm | by Daryl Tay Day two of Ad:tech Singapore 2012 just ended and from the sessions I attended today, here are some quick thoughts: 1) Mobile is not exclusively mobile advertising If you just listened to a few of the speakers, you might just walk away thinking that mobile ad spend is the be all and end all of the “mobile” component of digital marketing. Clickthrough rates on platforms like Facebook are already abysmal, I’m willing to bet they’re even worse on mobile, no matter how targeted the campaign is. I don’t think just buying 10 million mobile ads is going to solve anyone’s problems, no matter how “beautiful” these ads might be. We need to keep in mind that at the end of the day, mobile is just part of the digital marketing mix and has to be evaluated accordingly. 2) Integration is ever...
