Truthfully i haven't read too deeply into it, but from my perception the "Swiss standard" is an arbitrary goal that is a work in progress, and truthfully we would perhaps never attain it - because geographically we are so different in nature from Switzerland, and not to mention the mentality of the people are still a far cry from what the average Swiss national is. The writer however has chosen to benchmark the 'Swiss standard' based on the GDP/Purchasing power/Minister's salary - is that what we have been promised? So blow for blow, this is an argument destined to fail. Like another comment has mentioned, its great that SDP has found relevant statistics to support their argument, but by doing so, isn't it already as guilty as the ruling party of data 'manipulation'? Additionally the writer, is a statistician, he is more than skilled to cherry pick information to his advan...
