9 May 2012, Singapore – The inaugural Food Revolution Day will be held on 19 May 2012 all over the world. Organised by the Jamie Oliver Foundation, this will be a global day of action to inspire, educate and empower people everywhere to stand up for real food. The world’s population has a higher tendency to die from obesity than from hunger. In America, more people die from diet-related diseases annually than drugs, alcohol and war combined. In Singapore, you can join in the four hours of activities from 4pm to 9pm at The Lawn Grill and Salad Cafe at Biopolis Way. You can expect cooking demonstrations, food photography and healthcare talks, as well as a food competition. Shawn Lee, Asia’s top beatboxer and band Acoustic Sunday will perform during the event. 100% of Food Revolution Day net funds raised from the event will go towards support food education projects for child...
