Our government always claimed that Singapore’s public transport system is “world class”. This is just merely self-praise, which is international disgrace! I have been to poorer cities in China and as a foreigner, I dare to take their public buses without fear of losing my way. You know why? China has a system of announcing the location the moment it reaches the destination. If not, the location will be reflected on the digital panel in the bus. Do you find this facility in Singapore’s “world class” public transport system? Foreigners who try taking buses here often do not know where to alight and must depend on the bus drivers, sometimes distracting him from concentrating on driving!
