25 April 2012 – There were over 4.28 million passenger movements at Singapore Changi Airport last month. This represents the highest passenger traffic ever handled during the month of March. This represents a 15.3% increase year-on-year. Aircraft movement also grew 10.6% to 27,000 while cargo movement decreased 1.8% to 163,000 tonnes during the month. In the first quarter of 2012, there was an increase of 12.9% in passenger movement compared to the same period last year recording 12.3million passengers. This was due to the double-digit growth and strong travel demand between Europe, Middle East, South Asia, Northeast Asia ad Southeast Asia and Singapore. 79,500 aircraft movements was also handled from January to March, up 12.9% year-on-year.
