So now we know that one, on the average, a typical Singaporean only posts six snail mails a year. Two, the letter mailing business is a sunset industry: “Over the years, public letter mail has been on the decline with the prevalence of multiple e-communication platforms such as e-mail, SMS and social networking sites, a trend experienced the world over,” said a SingPost spokesman. But the above reasons didn’t stop postage prices from decreasing. In fact, from Oct.1, 2014, local postage prices will go up by four to 30 cents. Okay, let’s get things straight.
