STOMPer J. Lee was irked by a recruitment email for jobs in Singapore, sent out by what appears to be a local firm, that apparently targets only graduates from foreign universities. Says the STOMPer: “I am a Singaporean studying overseas in Australia. I recently logged in to my student e-mail account and got greeted with an e-mail from my school’s career services. “The screenshot has been attached for your perusal. The e-mail forwarded was a mass mail sent out to all graduating students and it irked me because of a few issues I have noticed: 1. The reluctance to expand university places 2. Double standards “In news reports I read recently, the main issue highlighted was that there is a fear that there are not enough positions available for university graduates. “I found this e-mail I received from [email protected] a big double standard and if I may add, I feel rather betrayed. “...
