SNA - Normal stream Singaporean student successfully ports ICS ROM for Galaxy S
Danial Makuthum (or Max) is not your regular 14-year-old student. Known as DaxInfinity on the popular XDA Developers forum, he has just successfully coded an unofficial port of a popular Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) ROM for the Samsung Galaxy S. The Korean chaebol has already said that it would not be upgrading the Galaxy S to ICS, which has led to developers creating unofficial ports for the device. While Makuthum is not the first person to do so, he's the first to port a popular Ice Cream Sandwich ROM called "Codename Android" for the handset. A Normal-Technical student at Singapore's Swiss Cottage Secondary school, Makuthum took about two days to finish porting the ROM, which was originally created by a developer who goes by the forum handle Codenamedroid.
