Tan Kin Lian expresses support for Yaw Shin Leong:

Mr Tan, a former presidential candidate, had written to The Straits Times to express support for Member of Parliament (MP) Mr Yaw, who is being plagued by rumours of extramarital affairs. In his letter, Mr Tan stated that he agreed with Mr Yaw for resigning from the WP leadership and lauded the WP for handling the issue in an "exemplary" manner. He felt that these private matters do not affect Mr Yaw's performance in public duty, and thus agreed with Mr Yaw and the WP in remaining silent over the rumours.
