Racing drivers from Singapore and their wishes for the New Year!

As we welcome the New Year, racing drivers, teams and race series owners are putting together their calendars for the season. Speaking to some of our local racers about their plans and wishes for 2012, I realised the two hopes most wanted from the local motorsports fraternity are: 1. Give us our track SG Changi, the consortium that was awarded the rights to build and operate Changi Motorsports Hub – what was supposed to be Singapore's permanent racing track – did not have an ideal Christmas when the contract was unfortunately terminated. The decision to put out the land for a re-tender to keep the racing track is not determined at the moment. Fingers crossed! 2. More sponsors please Motorsports is not cheap and progressing to higher levels would only mean more money. Self-funding has its limits and many talented drivers see their dreams fade away as the bank account dries ...
