One of the last things I ever thought we would do is attend a funeral while we are based overseas. I mean, considering we know alot less people in a foreign land, what are the odds that we would get to attend a wedding, and even less to a funeral? But to a funeral we did go today. We arrived back in Joburg from Singapore just in time to attend the memorial service of a departed friend, Jon Hrusa . It was a dark, cold morning. I woke up not knowing what to wear. I’ve never been to a western funeral before. So I took the cue from Desperate Housewives and dressed in a black dress and small pearl earrings. The outfit made me sad. I usually wear the dress to parties. It was the first time I was wearing it to a sad event. The service was quiet and beautiful. Jon was an incredibly talented photographer. We had met him in May 2011 and have only known him for a short 7 months. But ...
