Security is very tight in Nusa Dua, the southeast of Bali, as compared to the other areas. We went through 2 rounds of taxi checks everytime - one round before entering the tourist district (where hotels are), another round as seen below, at every hotel security points. We have to verify our purpose of entering the hotel, and the vehicle is thoroughly checked - from the sleeves of the seats, to the boot of the car. I kinda appreciate that since it was my first day in Bali, and it made me feel at ease, though in the later part I will learn that Bali is really safe and pro-tourist anyways. Some people might feel that it's too intrusive or the feel is too artificial, but I feel alright. Anyhow, the security only had to ask us once - and the rest of the times we enter/exit, they'll recognise us with their friendly smiles and acknowledgement :) Traveling with my supposed "husba...
