Fendi Rescues Fountains: 2 millones de euros para ayudar aRoma en la restauración fuentes

Fendi has pledged over 2 million euros to aid the Italian capital of Rome in restoring four of it historical fountains. The iconic Trevi fountain triggered this project when authorities realized the critical state it was in when chunks of plaster and stone started falling off last year. As the Italian government lacked funds to carry out repairs, appeals were made to companies and individuals to fund the project where eventually Fendi, the Italian luxury goods house stepped in. Fendi’s chairman and CEO, Pietro Beccari feels it is essential to give back to the city of which the label has strong ties with since opening its first store in 1925. As renovation works take place over the next 20 months tourists would still be able to visit the Trevi fountain to view the progress of the project, which includes cleaning the entire façade and statues and giving its basin fresh water...
