But that is not stopping the Star Wars fans from turning to crowd source funding site, Kickstarter, to seek funding to build the Death Star. Check out the Kickstarter project for an Open Source Death Star . The project creator is seeking £20,000,000 in funds. The entire project will use open source hardware and software to keep the cost down. Wait, before you start putting £20,000,000 into the project, just want to point out that £20,000,000 is for the detailed plans to build a Death Star and enough chicken wire to protect reactor exhaust ports.
