Workers’ Party Assistant Secretary-General Pritam Singh livened up an otherwise staid first day of debate on the Budget Statement, announcing that his party will not be able to support the planned Goods and Services Tax (GST) hike. The first opposition MP to speak on Tuesday, Feb. 27, Pritam said the government has not yet provided sufficient clarity on what they would need the additional money they would be collecting for.
