The late Ong Teng Cheong was quite a looker when he was young. The winner of the first Presidential Election in 1993 passed away on Feb. 8, 2002 at the age of 66. Singaporeans fondly remembers him from his days as president from 1993 to 1999. Ong Teng Cheong passed away 16 years ago today, but still people’s president But it is the portraits of Ong as a young man that has made Singaporeans sit up to take notice. Advertisement Dressed to impress Ong studied at the University of Adelaide and worked as an architect in Australia after he graduated in 1961.
