On May 13, 2017, six months pregnant Goh Chieh Ting went for breakfast with her mother-in-law in Jurong West. They were about to cross the road to visit the market when Goh was hit by a lorry. She was rushed to Ng Teng Fong General Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. Doctors, however, were able to extract her premature baby from her.
