This is a familiar sight in Singapore. How many cars are there in Singapore? Here’s a simple answer: roughly 675,000*. But for most of us (even if you are a Maths genius), that’s too massive a figure to visualise. Is it a lot, or just a small number of cars? Who knows? But it certainly feels like there’s a sh!tload of cars in tiny Singapore. It doesn’t help that during peak hours, 3 out of 5 cars have only 1 person in them. So exactly how many are 675,000 cars? We decided to find out, by fitting all the cars here into distinctively Singaporean things. Just to put the number into perspective. The maths Maths, not Math. Cos’ British English. Anyway, I digress. Let’s start with what we already know. There are a total number of 675,000 cars in Singapore (cars, station-wagons and taxis).
