The range of cuisines featured in this list is as diverse as any other area in town

The range of cuisines featured in this list is as diverse as any other area in town: from Korean hotpot restaurants to Thai hawker stalls, German bistros to international set lunches not forgetting a plentiful supply of quaint cafes specializing in Middle Eastern food for Kampong Glam’s significant Arab population. Whilst still relatively central in Singapore, restaurants in the Bugis and Kampong Glam area shy away from the prices you'll inevitably come across in the main tourist zones like Marina Bay, Clarke Quay or the Financial District. Instead, your Singapore Dollar goes a lot further here, whilst the quality of the food is rarely sacrificed.

Travel across Singapore quite comfortably with the help of express buses that will drop you off at the major points in the city. Book these express bus tickets online from   https://www.redbus.sg for added convenience.

Symmetry

Whilst serving up a great lunch, dinner and a fine range of drinks, Symmetry on Jalan Kubor Road is synonymous for one thing only: brunch. As the place only opens at 11:00, ‘brunch’ is a loosely used term to describe the food that they specialize. Think massive all day breakfasts (using only high quality ingredients such as maple-glazed bacon, smoked salmon and sauté mushroom) plus an excellent range of waffles, croissants, and eggs done any way you want. The classic whitewashed building with contrasting bright green shutters is easy on the eye from the outside, whilst the inside color scheme is far more complicated, yet just as satisfying.

NOX – Dine in the Dark

NOX – Dine in the Dark is restaurant that takes unique dining concepts to a completely new level. At Nox, ‘dining in the dark’ does not just mean gloomy lighting or a lack of windows: it means purposely-built rooms that totally block out all light. The experience doesn’t stop there. When it comes to eating the food (in pitch black), you are served by waiters who are actually blind or visually impaired themselves – the idea being that they can reassure you and guide you throughout the dining/tasting session.

Arti Choke Cafe and Bar : The Arti Choke Cafe and Bar is one of the best examples of how several self-titled cafes in Bugis and Kampong Glam are known to serve delicious food that is quite comparable to the ones served in fine and dine restaurants. This cafe and bar has won several accolades for having the best lunch menu as well as scrumptious brunch menu. You will get everything here starting from simple scrambled eggs with fresh mushrooms, smoked salmon to the huge self-destruction dish which is a signature ‘All Day Breakfast Theme’. The place is also quite well known for its freshness and flavor and most of the menu at the cafe has been inspired from the Mediterranean as well as the Middle Eastern eating culture. Prices of a single dish start from SGD8 and go up all the way to  SGD20 per dish. The place is open from Tuesdays to Thursdays from 6:00 pm to 10:00 pm.
