Elephant raids durian storage building in Hua Hin - The Nation
A large wild elephant burst into a cooperative building for durian in Prachuap Khiri Khan’s Hua Hin district on Monday. The elephant knocked down a section of wall at the Huai Sat Yai Agricultural Cooperative at about 4am. Durian is stocked in the building by cooperative members for distribution. “The damage is over Bt70,000,” the cooperative’s manager Prasit Kanjanawanich said. He said it was not the first elephant intrusion. “It happened earlier this month. We installed sensors to detect any invasion, but even though the gatekeeper rushed to check, he could not chase the elephant away,” Prasit said. Cooperative members are now repairing the wall with the help of soldiers.
