The Nuffnang Team's Christmas Dinner '09 Ever since Nuffnang started, it has always been a Nuffnang tradition that every year end, the Nuffnang team would have a Christmas dinner together just to get together at the end of the year.Last year instead of a Christmas dinner we did a Christmas lunch and it was held in Singapore. This year however we held it in KL.To add on to the Christmas Dinner, every year we also have a Secret Santa Mister Potato Fiesta I was at the Mister Potato Fiesta last weekend. It was Mister Potato's first really big foray into an event that aimed to engage bloggers in Malaysia and it was something my good friend Pierre had always wanted to do.So Princess and I made sure we were there to support him. Heck even Ming came down from Singapore just for the event at Mist Club, Bangsar. Here are some pictures from the night.1) 8 Things I Love About Japan (Part 2) 5) HarajukuWhen in Tokyo, Princess brought me shopping twice. The first time at Shibuya, at this mall called Shibuya 109. Now Shibuya must be a girl's shopping paradise but if it's that to a girl, it's a disaster for a guy who likes to shop. Why?Simply because just about every shop in the entire huge mall was selling only stuff for girls. Nothing for guys. So I spent an hour or two in there just Dumb While washing up in the morning...Me: *applies moisturizer on face* Why this moisturizer so watery one...Princess: Mine's like that too. See which one you using?Me: This one.. *points*Princess: *Takes closer look* That's... a cleanser.Me: *gives horrifying look at both cleanser and moisturizer bottles next to each other that look the same* HUH?! OH NO.... I used it as moisturizer before I slept 8 Things I LOVE About Japan (Part 1) I'm coming back to KL today after having spent almost a week in Japan. It's been such a great holiday. I knew it was a great holiday when one day during the trip, I totally forgot what day of the week it was. That was when I knew... I was truly on a holiday.I gotta love Japan. Apart from everything costing a bomb (made worse by the strong Yen now), I love it. Here are a few things I love about What’s your Number? (Mine is RM3,411,333) AdvertorialHere’s how I think life is like. When we were all young and students, we didn’t have to worry so much about money. We got some allowances every now and then which paid for whatever little things we needed to buy and we work part-time jobs during our holidays to earn a little bit of extra money if we want to spend a little more on something. For big ticket items, some of us lucky ones get Guess where I am... again.. Hey look... I'm in ... Venice. No actually.... in Persia.Okay... truth is, I'm in Disneyland Tokyo (though those pics were more specifically from Disney Sea). Which explains why "Persia" has a belly dancer that looks just like Minnie Mouse. As I write this, I'm at the hotel lounge leeching off the wireless internet here with Princess both trying to update our blogs. The room actually has internet Last Hong Kong Post By the time you read this post, I would have just reached Japan. I'm over at Japan for a family trip, something that doesn't happen as often anymore. When we were all young, it was easier to go for family trips. But after a while everyone gets older, married, have kids and a lot of other commitments that it's quite often really hard to get everyone together at the same time for a family trip. This Taylor's Open Day at their new Lakeside Campus AdvertorialRemember some time last year when I visited Taylor’s College new Sri Hartamas Campus? Remember how nice it was?Well this year they’ve decided to do something even better. Something that I have been hearing some people talk about for a while. They’ve opened up their grand 27-acre Lakeside Campus which is around a 5-acre lake. A FREAKING 5-ACRE LAKE!If I had to guess, the glass building My Photoshoot with Princess & BFM Interview Princess is a little unwell today :( Somehow since last night she caught a bit of a fever and has a sore throat. Just took her to the doctor in the afternoon and doctor gave her some antibiotics. Hope she gets well in time for our trip to Japan in a few days. Fingers crossed also that I don't get sick myself any time before or on the trip. Otherwise it'll be such a waste. Before we went to see the My Heineken Festive Video and Planting Trees for the Environment! AdvertorialA few weeks ago, I snuck out of the office on a hot weekday afternoon and hopped into my car. Destination was at this place just off Jalan Duta, a place I’ve never been to before but no matter. I had my GPS! Sometimes my GPS gets me even more lost but that day… it brought me where I needed to go. To the Bombshelter office. The office was at this really old apartment block that was The Chef Who Owns a Business Empire I just got back from Penang after spending the long weekend there. Spent some good quality time with my parents who I now only get to see not more than once a month. Parents are like that: Like they're really happy to see you and really happy whenever you're back home. What they also like to do sometimes is to take you out for lunch or dinner with their friends.Yesterday I went followed my mum My Firefly Ordeal I'm back in Penang this long weekend to see my family. Brothers and all are all coming back too so it was a family reunion that I couldn't miss.Princess decided to tag along since she wanted to attend her cousin's wedding in Penang this weekend. Rather than drive back this time and risk being stuck in a huge jam, I decided to fly. And in deciding to fly, I decided to give Firefly a shot after the Disneyland Hong Kong Part 2 Okay Day 2 at Disneyland Hong Kong. Here are the pictures.1) Was down by 9AM for breakfast in the Enchanted Garden restaurant in Disneyland Hotel. Princess is never usually up so early on weekends but traveling with Ming is like that. Ming demands that everyone is up early so that they can get more done.In fact he initially ordered everyone to be downstairs for breakfast by 8AM but the Disney Cast Disneyland Hong Kong (Day 1) I've always described Disneyland as the "Happiest Place on Earth". I think it's a combination of the balloons, the kids, the loud Disney music they play all around and the colourful park. It's my second time in HK Disneyland in a year and I still feel this way about it.We were all talking over Sat night dinner about how great this trip has been. How we all had so much fun and had so many memories Back from Hong Kong Disneyland It's 2.36AM and I just got back home. Was thinking of blogging about the trip tonight but it's too late. Will blog soon ok?Gotta sleep now. Tomorrow have to wake up for work. Fortunately I love my job.... if not I'll probably be going "fml fml fml". Interview with Astro Arwani's "In Person" Hey Everyone,I'm leaving for Hong Kong Disneyland in a few hours. So 24 hours from now I'm going to be skipping around HAPPY LAND! HheehehBut in the mean time, I'm going to leave you with a quick update.A couple of days ago I had a 30-minute interview with Astro Awani for a program they have called "In Person" where they interview personalities. It was meant to be a very casual kind of thing and Going to HK Disney! Phew it has been quite a busy week for me. Did so many things with many more to do. Tomorrow is my last work day for the week though. I took Friday off because Hong Kong Disneyland invited Princess and I and a few other bloggers from Malaysia and Singapore over for the weekend. I can't wait to go back.I love Disneyland.. it's the happiest place in the world! All the rides, the parades, the happy Video Games Ruined My Life I wanted to blog about what I did over the weekend but I realized that I did very little. My weekend was doomed the minute I decided to go buy this XBOX game that I waited so long for.You know how it is that I used to find it ironic that when I was young I craved having an XBOX or Playstation but my parents never wanted to buy me one. Then when I got older and started earning my own money, I Pics in Nuffnang Office Was showing my new camera to everyone in the office just a few days ago.So after work one day I started taking some pictures of some of the Nuffies and the things in the office.Say "Hi!" to Michelle and Karen who both handle our Ad Ops.To David who is always busy on the phone (Ladies Man #2 if you guys remember from the previous Nuffnang video).Firdy here, Ladies Man #1.Nicky, who demanded I give The Nuffnang Story (Nuffnang Milestones) It's been over 2 and a half years since Nuffnang started out. We've since then grown to represent over 100,000 bloggers in the region from our offices in KL, Singapore, Manila and Melbourne. We thought it would be nice to have a video that recapped the history of Nuffnang so that all of us will always remember how we came out so we came up with this video which was done by Kyanite and edited by This blog will have nicer pictures now... Hey before I start off right, I got a quick announcement. It turns out my BFM segment that I was referring to in the previous entry wasn't at 7PM today. Will update you guys when I know when it'll go on air. Sorry for the confusion.----------------------It all started when Judd, one of our Filipino Nuffies was down in KL. He was going on and on and on with me about this apparently really kickass Project Alpha Season One comes to an end It ended just a few days ago everyone. The last episode of Season 1 with Sixthseal in it just aired.Overall I felt that it was such a fun journey. Apart from learning a lot more about some of the 7 bloggers we interviewed (stuff I never knew about them), I also learned a thing or two about how TV shows are made. It's such a long process with so much work involved it's mind boggling. I mean What do we really need to be happy? This week I met up with Shaolintiger for coffee. We were catching up when he was just telling about a few new things he has in his life. One of which is his new car that he's really really proud of: A Mitsubishi Airtrek. He was so proud of his new car that he insisted he take me for a ride in it and it was beautiful even on the inside. For the first time in my life, I was looking at a man who Time Traveller's Wife, Nutrigen and 183 Condoms Whew today was quite a day man. I was driving all around Klang Valley all day going for meetings after meetings but you know what the best thing was? I enjoyed every single one of them meetings.I think I'm blessed. Blessed that I work with people I really really enjoy working with. I mean I have meetings with people who are smart, reasonable and fun people so it's always a pleasure meeting them. Out in Personal Money Hey Everyone,I wrote a short piece for Personal Money magazine in their "Personally Speaking" section for this month's issue. It's a column at the end of each issue where they get different personalities to share something. Wrote about the lessons I've learned being an entrepreneur. The magazine has an interesting cover story as well about how some every day Malaysians like me and you became A Saturday in My Life :) Ok before I start let me just say. You know how in the previous blog entry I posted some videos of Ray William Johnson up.I ended up with getting like... 0 comments (well until the last minute I got one. One... out of 3,000 of you guys who read this blog a day) which is a whole new record. I don't think I had ever gotten 0 comments in a blog entry before. Sure sure I know what you guys were HILARIOUS YOUTUBE VIDEO BLOGS Gosh it's almost 2AM and I'm still up watching these videos. They're cracking me up so much I'm tearing. Both Princess and I are laughing like shit. His name is Ray William Johnson and I think this guy is great. Let me show you some of the videos he shares.Gosh I laughed so hard I'm afraid to go to sleep now. When I was a small boy my babysitter told me that if I laugh too much before I sleep I Nuffnang Asia-Pacific Blog Awards 2009 I remember my first blogger event. It was way back in 2006 when Jolene had asked me to attend it. Long before I had even started Nuffnang. It was meant to a blogger gathering at Burger King in KLCC. Everybody went there, bought their food then went to this area that was closed off just for us. We felt like such VIPs! Then just about a year after, Nuffnang had one of our first blogger gatherings in Dad's Birthday, Our Filipino Nuffies in KL & MAMEE!!! I've been meaning to write about the Nuffnang Blog Awards but I'm waiting for pictures from our official photographer so I'll save it for the next few days ok?Here are some other things I've been busy with lately.Dad's birthday.Yesterday was my father's birthday. Right after the Nuffnang Awards in Singapore I flew back to Penang just to have dinner with him then rush back to KL early next
