Updates March 08 >3 months have passed since the last update and we have just updated the site code to the latest version of wordpress, and also added 2 new themes, do check them out. Also, if you encounter any bugs or problems posting, do post here. We have been having some issues with our server over the past few months, it has been going down for about 15 minutes every couple of days. We are working hard to resolve these issues. BTW, have you guys checked out the new sgforums.com? Another Upgrade! We have recently completed quite a substantial upgrade to our systems. Do post here if you encounter any problems. Server Downtime I would like to apologise unreservedly to all our valued members for the recent server downtime. We promise to do better. Please stick with us! Server Tweaking We’ve recently tweaked some server parameters so things run a bit faster and smoother. Do let us know if anything has stopped working! Another update, server upgrade, and new themes added! We’ve updated the code, and upgraded our server. This should result in improved reliability and speed of our site. We’ve also added some new themes. Do check it out, and let us know if you encounter any problems. Updated Software, New Themes, Twitter Widget Hi Guys! We have just done a software update so please report any bugs/errors here. Also, there are some new themes, and for those who like to twitter, you can now easily display your twitters on the sidebar using the new twitter widget! Nuffnang? Yes we have nuffnang support now. Simply activate it in your plugins page. Also comes with a widget to put on your sidebar Lah.cc has more themes! Check out the crazy ass CLI one. Just to let you guys know we have added a couple more themes to our collection thanks to the cool guys over at wp.com! This particular theme is a must-see, have a look here. And if you encounter any problems with the themes, drop us a line here, and I’ll try to sort it out. Updates: Webserver Upgrade We have changed our webserver software and hopefully should see much more stability and faster response. Please post any problems you encounter here. Updates: More themes + Custom header image feature! I’ve just added all the themes from wordpress.com so we now have a slightly more varied selection than them. Most of these themes come with a cool custom header feature so you can easily upload your own header for use on your blog- it will even resize and crop it for you! 106 days ago??? Was that how long ago our last entry was? Unbelievable… BUT we have not forgotten about lah.cc! Hope everyone has had a great Xmas and New Years! We have just completed a major site upgrade and we are now using the very latest version of Wordpress. Check out some of the latest features for Wordpress 2.1 “Ella” like autosave, tabbed editing, spell checking, lossless import/export, etc. Almost all the niggling bugs that we have had when we first started should now be cleared up. It’s been a while since I’ve had time to work on this…Sorry! 2 things I’ve managed to do: Software upgrade: hopefully more things start working the way they are supposed to! Spam killer: spam has been getting us down. I’ve wrote a spam CAPTCHA plugin (the kind that asks you to enter a security code displayed on the screen before you can post a comment). I know it’s not the most friendly solution, and might not be to everyone’s taste, so if you don’t like it you can turn it off via your site options. Big Software Upgrade! Bugs? Errors? Pls post here! A major upgrade has been made to the software powering lah.cc. One of the new features is that users can now sign up without registering a blog, and one username can also own several blogs! (big deal right? ) Some bugs/niggles will be inevitably introduced, and if you guys could post them here, I will try to sort them out ASAP! (Fauna theme has been removed as it was not working properly with the new version, will try and post a newer version of it up soon…) See any themes you would like put on lah.cc? Post it here! If there is enough demand, I will try to put it in. Where to find themes? Google it. Want to embed youtube videos in your post? Just type something like this in: [youtube=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eIIj2Lns5kA] and you will get this: New Themes! Couple of new themes just in, Contempt - a Kubrick-like theme with a more professional feel, Ginseng Coffee - nice and earthy, and the new Regulus! Also, all themes now support widgets, so I will be removing the flickr and shoutbox plugins and you can use them as widgets now. (widgets menu is a subpanel of the “presentation” one) Lah.cc hates spam! I know some of your shoutboxes have been spammed, and have taken some steps to make them more spammer resistant. I hope to let you guys delete individual comments in the future, but for now your only option is to clear the shoutbox from the widgets menu (check the box that says “clear”). Lah.cc theme exclusive: Mad Merlion! Try this theme with a distinct Singapore flavour I threw together just for ourselves “Where have my Shoutbox and Flickr badge gone?” Answer: Your theme has probably been “widgets enabled”. You now have to click on the “presentation” tab => “sidebar widgets” and activate the Shoutbox and Flickr badge from there. Once all themes are enabled, we will remove these 2 plugins altogether! Super cool sidebar widgets! (incl shoutbox and flickr) Check it out! It is currently only implemented on the classic, default and, after a lot of hard work, fauna themes. This thingie let’s you drag and drop ‘widgets’ and rearrange + customise your sidebars, you have to try it to believe it! Please post any bugs/errors here, once we get most of the bugs sorted, we will begin implementing it on all the themes.
