Fireworks Fireworks are nice..bcos they glitter against the cold dark nite-sky..bcos they shine for such a short time tat no one can hold on to..bcos they burst NOT when u know where and when..most importantly, juz bcos they dun last.. baolai-mon is in the emo-ing mode, and these pics r taken some time back during the korean fireworks display at cityhall area right here in our little island which we call home, singapore.. FYP ok, probably the few times i mention my fyp here..supposedly started in july.. den procrastination + clueless of how to start, i waited for abt 1 month to meet my profs and discuss the direction for my fyp.. by end july den i completed the lab trainings and stuff..den holiday mood, thinking i power liao, juz waiting to start my experiment.. den shift back into hall, re-adjust lifestyle.. end of august.. haha..when i was abt to start really DOING my experiment.. 1st time, partially-dried strawberries all grew mould.. chui.. wasted 1week..2nd time, the drying lab not available.. another week wasted..3rd time, dry liao, everything swee swee, strawberries quite well perserved.. BUT the GC machine (to detect the flavours in my fruit) spoil.. n 2weeks in a roll spoil liao.. 2 weeks wasted.. every thurs n fri i wake up early go lab juz to be disappointed lah.. whole of sept lidat liao.. sian..everytime i schedule the lab is 1 week interval, as every fri is fyp day.. in sept, i catered both thurs n fri lor.. but still, with the machine down, I REALLY CAN'T DO ANYTHING.. so now start of oct liao, i still got ZERO results.. chui chui chui..if fyp is graded based on the period of time put in, den i have already wasted 3 out of the 6 months tat i hav.. tats 50% gone, and i am LOOKING AT FAILING IT!! omg..u might be tinking wat has chemical engineering got to do with drying of strawberries, beats me too! haha.. but i am really enjoying dis fyp, though i got no results and panick button is abt to be pressed.. 1 yr back dis day was juz sitting on the swing on the rooftop..alone..holding the can of strawberry hello panda which i dearly rationed out..its rare, i know it..munching, tinking..suddenly it occurred to me its dis day 1yr back..tat decision i still dunnoe if its rite or wrong..mayb there aint juz rite n wrong to such decisions..its abt having decided there n den, n moving on..i moved on..to the last hello panda in the can..throw away the can..and walked back to my room..in desolate..its quite a gentle feeling to juz sit down and watch the world go by..i love the swing and the rooftop..wat i miss, is the can of hello panda.. name thy name i juz realised tat actually, quite many the pple knows me as baolai-Mon.. hmm, i wonder y.. is it really easier to remember, over baolai or jason?! hmm, i wonder.. are there SO many pple who reads cleo?!?! and zhun zhun will see the tiny interview section?!?! n zhun zhun can identify its me, even when i use a OVERLY COMMON name of jason?!?! hmm, i wonder.. but heck lah.. at least pple know me.. whaha.. Bali to be a millionaire overnite, DO NOT play with stocks n shares, juz go chinatown any money changer and change 150sing dollars into indonesian ruppiah! =) its 1.15 million here.. whaha..after reaching bali, we hired AMAN, a indon-chinese tourguide to bring us ard bali.. 100USD and tat takes care of all transportation and to all tat we wanted to see and play in bali.. when being transported, we felt really bored.. bali is quite big by OUR standard.. haha.. along the way one day, dis is wat we saw.. we vouch to go see the rice paddy field the next day..along with the tour package was white water rafting!! shiokz!! a pity i found the ride abit slow.. haha.. in need of something more exciting!! haha..collage of us having fun in the waters.. yes, my camera ZAI one.. haha.. heng it din "drink water"..visiting one of the oldest temple in bali.. 15th century, built to calm the raging sea..how can we miss getting temp tatoos done.. whaha.. its less den 10bucks lah..ATAS and romantic hotel lounge.. juz for a drink and nice nite view of the romantic beach in bali..the cam-whoring starts.. its so dark tat, we had to hold the candles and create lightings for ourselves!! haha..next morning, its time to hit the beach (KUTA BEACH), and get more tatoos done!! =)great jump shot taken by peixuan who slapped TONNES of sunblock on herself.. haha..den its abt the food!!where we had good seafood and great dinner-by-the-beach @ affordable price.. @ Ma Joly.. great beach with cheap n mediocal western food for lunch..time for peter to flash his tatoo on his arm tat he is VERY PROUD OF.. haha.. in a rice terrace.. too bad we din hav time to go to the biggest rice paddy field in bali..the volcano..acting spas in the middle of the road.. haha.. well, juz to show off the tatoo on our ankles!! haha..while we tasting authentic indonesian crusine (which is really nice in my opinion), peter obviously dun seem to take interested in the food.. the tatoo on his forearm seem to hav taken limelight.. haha.. MAYB its cos he ordered a chicken dish, but some beef was added den he sian diao.. haha..When in Bali, u CANNOT DUN GO FOR SPA!! haha.. its a sin i tell u.. first its cheap (relatively).. secondly, ITS SHIOK-NESS to the maximum spider!! haha..2nd day we had HOT STONE MASSAGE and tat nite, we slept like logs and needed morning call to wake us up.. last day, we went for RED WINE MASSAGE n SPA treatment.. it included a maasage with red wine, followed by green tea essence body scrub, followed by a short red wine bath lah.. i am drunk in spa already..SPA TIME!! juz to note, the body scrub was really effective and i whiten at least 2 tones after the treatment!! haha.. damnz.. all the suntanning on the beach wasted.. haha.. a tour ard Hard Rock Cafe.. next time i go bali, i wanna stay in Hard Rock Cafe lah.. its damn cool with its own internal beach n pool lah.. and its really bustling with activities.. =) tats all folks, a long post indeed.. dedicated to the threesome who had so much fun in bali.. =) some time ago.. yar, some time ago.. missed out on blogging it.. haha..following the "recovery period" after being back in spore, of cos havta explore spore more rite?! hehe.. so..top 2 pics were taken at PS Cafe @ Dempsey.. wa, i love the ambience there lah.. cos we reach at 12.30am, ben & jerry doing closing liao, can oni tabao cannot dine in.. so we switch to PS Cafe lor.. haha.. wat a waste.. and the PS signature double chocolate cake thingy, was quite a disappointment lah.. haha.. dun really live up to its name (and price!).. haha..the lower left pic is this SUPER NICE beancurd with spinach from imperial treasure.. another atas place i reckon, but once in a while indulgence is fine lah.. haha..n the lower right pic, is the chocolate fondue from The Coffee Club @ Central.. wa, they homemade the marshmellow lah.. can taste the orange n mint flavour.. power, although i am not a big fan of those 2 flavours.. haha.. its nice, but short of ICE CREAM.. haha.. wat a pity.. hee..ohh, good food, i tink i am putting on weight.. dunnoe is the food i am eating, or is it cos i've been hitting the gym more regularly.. hmm.. ponder ponder.. realisation today i come to realisation tat afterall, i am oni worth so little in my fren's eye..for he tinks tat i dun hav the decency to rush n take a cab after i overslept n woke up..for he tinks tat i actually hav the decency to go back to sleep after i realise i overslept..for he tinks tat i actually wasn't anxious at all while i waited 30mins for a cab to come along yck road from 6-6.30am..for he tinks tat i actually din make an effort to try to call for a cab to oni get the answering machine and not allocated any cabs at all..for he tinks tat i din react like a 热锅上的蚂蚁 and walked along yck road dunnoe up n down how many times, cross dunnoe how many roads while waiting in the wee hours..for he tinks tat i wasn't sorry for oversleeping..for he tinks tat i din hav any sense of guilt..for he tinks tat he shd get even by reciprocating a "fly aeroplane" incident upon me..so much said n done.. oh well, i will get over it..for since i am oni worth so little.. no point dwelling on it..adios.. Super Weekend Super Company sat was kinda rush but definitely not forgotten..rush to play the game (we actually started the match with 6 pple against a team of 16 pple).. eventually we survived the game with 8players in total.. how cool rite?! haha..a proper 60mins game.. score was 4-1, 4-1, 1-1.. see, we improved despite the shortage in players.. though overall my team lost 9-3.. but the results were really quite impressive i tink.. haha.. we manage to not lose by a huge margin.. haha..den we rush to clean up and get our ass out of the sports hall.. "ehh, dun lock up yet, the policeman still inside!!" zhebin exclaimed.. the auntie really freezed there and we all went -___-"den we rush thru the rain to get to chomp chomp for our dinner/supper.. too bad weijing couldn't join us.. zhebin had "manual wipers" for his helmet using his finger, and the chomp chomp mosquito went thru his hairy leg n toes to give a sting there!! haha.. well, we figured out tat since the mozzie knew tat she is getting stuck n entangled up in the hair, might as well juz sting first den say!! hurhur..chong zhe-ge-bin..chen baolai-mon..sherilyn-yummy..tay peiyun-mei-li-mao..haha..ice-cube was shiokz too!! first time there.. great chill-out place.. but seriously they r under-staffed.. juz a tiny advertisment for ice-cube.. full-timers / part-timers, interested, pls go down for walk-in interview.. haha..pistachio, brownie n cream, strawberry supreme, green tea, mocha, malt krispies, caramel walnut, cookies n cream..kudos to zhebin for giving the ride to tampines sports hall from hall.. it was such a smooth ride, i dozed off twice n once gave the bike a serious jerk to the left.. hahahaha..n of cos sherilyn for the ride from tampines to chomp chomp to hougang n back hall before she can go home to rest n nurse her back..ok, its time to sleep.. its late..sunday is a long day.. but time well-spent and ended will with CHEESE PRATA SUPPER.. wee.. back to those supper-ing dayz.. End of SEP Trip Yap, finally finish blogging abt all the trips done during my SEP.. haha.. so for the end of sep trip entries, u can find them in archive for June 2008.. haha.. i shift it down so tat my entries r in chronological order.. haha.. if u missed any installations, pls click on the JUNE 2008 on the right scollbar n voila.. =) nike run aftermath was jio-ed long time ago to join the biggest race in human history - nike 10km human race..huge jam in CBD area.. traffic jam, human jam, wherever, watever..no thanks to the nike run at esplanade area..no thanks to comex at suntec as well..alot of (very slow) pple (still) running after i end my race..alot of (smelly) pple walking ard (daringly) in unchanged sweaty running attire..pple walking ard pulling trolleys with LCD lah, monitor lah, printers lah.. omg..bus packed to the brim..mrt like tuna cans..and the trains actually broke down.. and i happen to be on it..had to alight, change to the next train, which aso got delayed due to the previous train tat broke down..took TWICE the amount of time for me to get home..was jio-ed, was pangseh-ed..was left alone to run the race..was left alone to eat after the race..was left alone to shop after the race..mayb i deserve it.. for oversleeping for the AHM..thinking back, so glad at least i converted the lost time from AHM over to IBG and got champions for E-blk..how better can life get rite?! moving back yap.. i made a decision to move back hall liao..it wasn't tat easy a choice afterall.. so many things to consider, so many pros n cons to weigh..in the end, it juz takes the SPIRIT of KR (more specifically E-Blk Spirit) to draw one back..thanks guys, to be all present at the initiation, to make me feel welcome back to the family..back to those cheering days.. back to those floorball days.. back to the KR days.. back to those E-blk days..wee..btw, i am so in the olympic fever rite now.. haha.. nowadays i reach home liao, will juz be glued to the TV to watch 30-60mins of olympics lah.. watever the sports is.. basketball, soccer, gymnastics, table tennis, swimming, decathlon.. cool shit! Super Singaporean Sunday.. reached home at 11plus..watched the "Today @ Beijing" to catch the actions tat i missed out on the Team Singapore Table Tennis Girls against the strong opponents from China..went to train for AHM and ran 10km (wanted to do 15km ut was too hungry to continue running.. haha..) ard my estate..saw some indians (or banglas) quarrelling and shouting at each other, a fight looks imminent..the crowd drew more of them..i called the police!! (yes, my first time making a police report thru phone)..5mins for the police to arrive, 10mins to settle the arguement between the 2 tribes of them..after i called, i juz watched the whole episode from afar..ya noe.. juz in case i kanna identified by the pple and boxed uop the next time i run..yap.. juz being a Brave Singaporean to notify the police, and the not-so-brave Singaporean watching from afar.. haha..i am pretty glad tat the crowd din dissipate b4 the police arrived lah.. imagine i kanna accused n charged for making PRANK CALLS to disturb the police at 12midnite.. haha..wat a sunday.. North-east is cool with lotsa yummlicious FOOD lah!!vincent for the belated bdae treat at sushi tei.. he noes i H.E.A.R.T. jap food and missed it so much in tat 5months lah..ernest for another round of local delis at food republic.. expensive, but good as ever..huiyian weili anqi junhao zhiwen qiurong bingxin henghong weili for another round of jap food at ichiban boshi..party of 10..gifts presentation.. n yes, its cos of SEP, i return learning how to give the "megawatt smile" everytime, all the time.. haha..my megawatt smile..i am not the oni one.. huiyian aso can give the megawatt-cum-10 000bucks smile..kelvin n geraldine for the xingwang TEH PENG!! and uncoming tennis sessions!! =)amos n audrey's wedding which once again let me hav an opportunity to mingle over the much awaited lunch buffet and uncle ice-cream with my ex-colleagues-cum-frens dino hsuehfong jeremy kenneth serene prashant and even sean who knows me but i dunnoe de.. haha..notice how blissful the couple look?!?!robin n jace's wedding which brought the house down with her drop-dead gorgeous princess-like evening gown lah.. had fun rubbish-ing with sheena n audrey lah.. haha.. and aso sheena's frens whom i dunnoe but they noe me de.. haha..ok, i admit i am abit famous.. haha..with Snow-White Princess Jace..with SilkAir Girl Audrey..with Braces Sheena..with the young couple..yes, one of the many signs of aging - my frens r getting married!! i dunnoe when my turn will come, nonetheless, i am really happy for them, for they found their MR / MISS RIGHT..sherilyn pangster zhebin hanfeng for prata house and k-box til wee hours.. yes lah, finally exercised my throat after a long long time.. haha..lastly, a BIG THANKEW to peter-dude for the nagging and spot-checks so tat i got no choice but to follow a pretty strict yet flexible routine of swimming running gymming and sports.. strict as in i will do them, but flexible at the same time, all depending on the weather.. like no rain den can swim or run or go tennis watz.. den rain liao, go gym lor.. haha.. he's good i tell u.. now i feel good abt myself too.. =Pohh, tell u pple a secret.. everyone lurrrrrves secrets dun they?!?! haha.. here we go.. i noticed that i am, erm, quite, erm..erm.. should i say?!?! later u all say i bua-hiao-bye.. hmm.. ok lah, say lah say lah.. haha.. i noticed tat i am quite an eye-looker, a head turner!! whahaha.. really.. ever since day 1 i return to spore, had my hair cut, and i tink its quite funky lah.. haha.. so its drawing quite abit of attention.. haha..my megawatt smile and nice short black hair (told by my hairstylist its the most IN ok).. haha..yay, i love my hair!!ohh, do check back dis post for updates as i try to gather pics taken from other pple's camera.. hehe.. i'm REALLY back yes, back to goody singapore.. the hot and humid singapore.. where everything is pretty much the same as when i left.. mayb juz SOME PPLE got to busy and forgot abt me.. oh wells.. haha.. pple, meet up!! cos wat i miss most abt spore, is u guys and gals!!will find time to blog abt the 3weeks travelling stuff lah.. yes, even if it reminds me of how wonderful the times i hav had (and will probably not get to enjoy it anymore) as well as those dreadful moments during this long trip..memories, will be recorded and stored HERE.. haha..meanwhile, time to catch up with pace of life in spore, and get a grip on reality.. End of SEP Trip XI Copenhagen (25-26th June 2008)ok, officially the last n final stop of the trip.. yap, back to where it all started, it shall all end here.. back to our "temporary hometown".. back to our containers.. back to denmark..after a span of 5months, things r not as unfamiliar.. trees finally not botak and have leaves.. grass are growing everywhere.. the wind is no longer cold, chill n wet, but warm n dry.. snow is a thing of the past, and bright sunny days beckon upon us.. no longer do we wrap ourselves in thick layers of winter wear, but down to t-shirts n berms.. the sun dun exactly set anymore, leaving the midnite darkness a thing of the past.. twilight dun seem to come, and there seem to be always a ray, a ray of hope n life..juz one more nite in DTU..the journey to the airport was filled with mixed emotions.. the eagerness in most, if not, all of us, to return to spore, our REAL hometown.. the joy that we r able to be reunited with our families.. the thought of meeting up with frens spirits us up for the 13hr journey.. yet on the other hand, the apprehension we hold with regards to changes back in spore.. the uncertainty of relations that may or may not hold firm after this 5 months.. the anxiety for us to find out, yet might not wanna know the whole truth, for reality often hurts.. the sian-ness that NUS skooling term starts again, and the days where we cook n laze ard and study very little WILL BE OVER.. thats reality..at the airport..yap, with our huge amount of barang barang, we set foot to the airport.. this time, ALOT heavier.. this time, without kendrick (who went back 5days earlier to celebrate anniversary with his girlfren).. this time, the same heavy heart as i departed changi 5months ago..one more nite on plane, and i will kiss goodbye to denmark, and say harlow to spore.. End of SEP Trip X Berlin (23rd - 24th June 2008)back to berlin.. back to the same "Easterner Hostel".. but dis time round, we took a 2-bed dorm, machiam hotel without the toilet oni.. haha..cos we scared go back DTU no rooms liao, so we decided to reward ourselves with better sleep b4 going back to DTU.. hehe..n since its NOT our first time there, we hav covered wat we wanted, though missing out the concentration camps n stuff, but i tink its ok, cos i dun really fancy a depressing tour ard germany.. so.. we went shopping!! haha..yeah, a good afternoon of shopping n shopping n shopping.. haha.. n as mentioned, its like enroute so tat we catch our Easyjet (budget flight, cheaper den taking bus or train lah..) back to copenhagen..on step closer to home.. =) back to copenhagen.. haha..2 more days to spore.. finally done with the end-of-SEP-trip.. 6 countries, 10 cites.. donED..thanks everyone who still visit my blog in dis long period of silence.. hee.. paiseh lah, not all hostel has free internet for me to use lah.. pay, very expensive.. hee..and those who remmebered 20th june, thankew the very very much.. i was in vienna tat time.. hee.. but i hav to admit it was one of the worse bdaes i ever had.. =(but of cos still much appreciation to those in vienna travelling with me to make things a little better den it would hav been..i miss my frens back home..27th june hurry come come.. End of SEP Trip IX Munich (22nd - 23rd June 2008)a short one day trip in munich, juz so tat we make full use of the Eurail Pass and connect us north-bound, from italy-austria up to germany den back to copenhagen.. haha..i would say there is REALLY NOTHING much tat munich can offer lah.. haha.. enough of churches n museums, we were there for a sole purpose - Schloss Neuschwantein..yap, tats THE castle tat Walt Disney model there theme-park castle after.. the magical castle tat many other mystical tales were created and edged in our memories.. but seriously, this castle is quite the small lah.. no offence, but yar.. haha..castle high up the mountains..instead of climbing up, we took the horseride up.. juz in case u were tinking, it din come free.. haha..THE castle..sorry, no phototaking inside the castle.. hence, u gotta go there to see it for urself.. haha..random: THE piece of cloud tat followed me from italy to austria, n now in germany.. notice how darker my travel-mates got while i seem to become more n more fair.. damnzz.. End of SEP Trip VIII Salzburg (21st - 22nd June 2008) its like the land of SOUND OF MUSIC if anyone is to ask me.. and i oni knew it thru my SEP-mates in denmark lah.. haha.. so much for having a childhood rite?!?! haha..in case u r juz as lost as me.. sound of music is dis great movie production tat brought us the "DO-RE-MI" , "I'M 16 going on 17", "Edelwiss" etc..so there we went, on the "sound of music" tour and the "saltmine" tour.. hee.. yap, the fastest way to cover the most things during short travel trips.. haha..saltmine tour.. we were made to wear the "workers' uniform".. quite cute i tink.. haha..having gelato from "foster cafe" and admiring the grand view of the belvarian mountains.. city in-n-out..the original "sound of music" tour..having awesome desserts along the way..special thanks to sebastian, sheena, peter, kendrick, aeron, sherilyn, meiyee for dropping a sms for my bday.. as well as catherine, yilin, wilson, kumar, shadzad, dilys, veera, kim, qingyou, alex, joseph, aravind and xiaojun for tagging my facebook wall.. =) End of SEP Trip VII Vienna (19-20th June 2008) when pple mention vienna, probably nothing much comes up to their mind.. me dun differ.. hurhur..yar, despite the fact tat it was eve of my bdae, and aso on actual day tat i spent my first bdae overseas.. its the first time i spent my bdae overseas sia! haha..BUT, yar, i barely wanna remember those vienna days..horrendous, chaotic, nonchalant, emo, heck!but thanks those who took the trouble to hold a mini celebration for me, despite me showing THE BLACK FACE OF MINE to you guys..we were all SO hungry for the cake tat no group pics were taken at all lah..and for tat forgettable city, i got the most unforgettable present..a mini SEP photo journal.. End of SEP Trip VI Venice (16th - 18th June 2008)another ROMANTIC PLACE ON EARTH u might tink.. but, but. i seriously din hav a hint of romantic-ness in venice lah.. haha..on the way from "venice mestra" to "venezia".. rahter emo rite?! haha.. the ferry cost 10euros lah.. a bus ride would hav cost oni 1euro.. haha..the canal-full venezia..bridge of signs..jewish ghetto..the gondola ride cost 100euros lah.. and tats regardless of the number of people lah.. so for juz the 3 of us, is quite bo-hua lah.. haha.. imagine we saw one boat of 7 fat fat angmo sit together in a boat, damn wu-hua and worth it lah.. haha.. poor boat-man though!! haha..string of gondolas.. the main form of transport alongside with the water taxis n water bus..the miniature concert band made of murano glass.. its so small tat each band member is abt 2cm tall, and each of them cost 5euros.. do ur sums and dis concert band will cost u at least 300bucks!the rain, the wind n the beauty..no romantic nite-shots of St. Marks Square.. cos in june, at 9.20 (last ferry timing), the sun refuse to set lah!! dis is my best liao.. saddening rite?!?!-___-"
