RECOMMENDATIONS!!
In the past, I was a weekly salon mani/pedi girl who insists on only OPI products.
But recently, some things changed (for the good) and I just have to share it…
My nails were brittle and have a tendency to chip at the sides when it gets long,
especially my thumb (coz of intense BB-ing) and forefinger nails.
Then Barf recommended me to try the GNC Fish oil which works like magic!
I bought this via Drugstore.com which is cheaper than in SG,
and just 2 weeks into it, I can feel the difference in my nails. NO MORE CHIPPING!
It also does ALOT more for overall health than just improve nail condition.
My only gripe about it is fishy burp that makes me feel really icky.
But the good condition of my nails had allowed me to grow them out very nicely,
and I no longer find myself running off to the salon to fix my nails - Save Money!
Thus I decided I can try paint my own nails now since plenty of time to dry
when I am furiously typing away on my lappy and will not ruin them.
I was doing my hair at Orchard Central when I pass by this Missha shop.
Then I remember Garance Dore’s summer colors post, and decided to TRY!
For 3 for $10, it was a cheap experiment & worth the risk, so I did.
AND LOVED IT!!!
The Missha glittery one was SUPER BLING! Very very very damn nice!
The pink one was gorgeous and the blue one was a little too watery for my liking.
When I pass by Sasa 2 weeks back, I decided to experiment with more colors,
at 3 for $10, I bought the range of pink/purple tone colors…
I LOVED IT TOOOOOOO!!!!
The colors were thick with even consistency, the brush was great,
and I easily managed to paint my nails without much trouble at all!
And so I went back for more… and tried another brand too!
The blue & green Sylvie ones were going at 2 for $4.50(!!! !!! !!!)
This was slightly harder to apply coz it was a little too thick,
and the second coat have a tendency to become too gooey thus uneven.
And it also easily smudges with a light knock when it wasn’t dry.
BUT BUT!!! It was nothing my trusty Poshe/ Seche QuickDry Top coat won’t save!
After just one layer of the super duper Top Coat - It dried BEAUTIFULLY in an instant!
Am loving my new found joy of self-love nails with cheap whimsical colors!
P.s Pardon the bad grammar and sentence structure in this post.
I am rushing out soon but just HAD to share this, so rambling a lil incoherently. hehe

Sad Vicious Cycles
When I hear the truth, I mull over and get upset.
So slowly, the truth stops coming to me.
When I don’t get any news, I turn suspicious.
So sometimes I get fed snippets of little information.
When curiousity makes discovery from elsewhere, I get pissed.
And then I live in the sadness of knowing I’m here again -
in this sad cycle of knowing, not knowing, truths, untruths & ’self’-imposed unhappiness.
Want to ditch all the insecurities and embrace only the good.
But why is focusing on only the good always oh-so-hard…
First Passenger!
Pek has got his first car & I was his first passenger albeit turn one round in carpark. LOL
Most of my friends have driving license except lil’ me (and Yen and Gareth! HAHA).
Somehow the thought of driving seems to daunt me these days.
I’m glad I’ve left it out of my new year resolution list for the past 2 years,
else it would be yet another unfulfilling list of disappointments.
Still, I would love to maybe oooonnneeee day get down to it, till then…
SAY YAY TO LOVING/FRIENDLY DRIVER FRIENDS!!!

Glutton’s Paradise
As I mentioned, Project FattyBomBom will start next week.
So this is er… celebratory dinner to welcome healthier & fitter me.
*guffaws and die*
P.s Do not jio Pek to eat buffet next time. Damn bo hua one. Pay $50 eat HUGE plate of FRIED RICE!
Hello Rolly Polly!
This is the ONE thing I cannot resist or say no to… *sigh*
Just like you can lure kids with a lollipop,
you can certainly lure me the same way with instant noodles.
I love 出前一丁 (Original and/or Beehoon) and Myojo (chicken) the BESTest!
My Project FattyBomBom-ness is going nowhere.
I am now sitting ON THE LINE of over & acceptable weight with a BMI of 23.
Saddened. *stare at tummy and flabby arm* Need to lose 5kg, Want to lose 10kg.
I woke up early and went to the pool on today determined to get back to shape,
BUT ALAS!!! Of all days… Pool is closed… *grim face*
Shall start next week instead *heave a deep sigh*
Moi
Just being narcissistic because I can.
Marina Bay & the YOG Flame
I can’t be a food blogger because I usually chomp into the food too quickly,
and then mid-way with my mouth full go, ‘OH SHIT! Forget to take picture (AGAIN)!’
So anyway, today I went to Glutton’s Bay for a feast and it was one of those days again.
But no loss since the food there turn out to be rather ordinary, nothing to shout about.
Love the view though… There’s nowhere better than the beautiful Marina Bay,
to really see how far Singapore has developed from a little bustling river days…
Marina Bay Sand & beautiful Art Science Museum!
The sky was getting darker as we ate…
Love love love the colors of the sky…
And then here’s what I went all the way there for…
To see for myself - the Youth Olympic’s Flame!!!
Damn far can! Should let us go closer to see and take photo!
This was as near as I could get to it, and I was quite disappointed.
I had thought that it was open for public to see and view it at a closer proximity.
Still, I’m glad I caught a glimpse of the icon of one of Singapore’s proud(er) moments.
Back at Marina Square, I got drawn to the Korean supermarket filled with tidbits!
And then decided to buy a rose on a whim coz I was overflowing with happiness.
One White Rose…
Then just as I thought the evening was as wonderful as it could possibly be,
Perfection said Hello! and filled the skies when we drove by the Helix bridge.
YOG Closing Ceremony Rehearsal…
♥
Loving Colours
After that day, have been playing around with my nail colors,
and am loving the whole bunch of candy bottles I bought from Sa Sa!
Did a pale pink and glitter nail last week, and it was one hellavu bitch to remove!
Gonna swear off glittery nails for awhile unless I’m going to the nail parlour. hehe
Come to think of it, ever since I started buying all these pretty lil pots,
I have been cutting down my mani/pedi visits tremendously, to paint my own.
Curse the cuticles that are still growing like weeds though.
Shall put more hand cream and cuticle oil to soften their growth!
Handmade love
For many years, I’ve always told people around me that I hated handmade gifts,
ornamental gifts, photo frames, soft toys & basically anything that’s for decoration.
Because more often than not, I have no idea what to do with it, and just Chuck it!
Until I receive my first handmade gift ever - A Bookmark,
complete with glitter, diamante crystal names and pink pop up hearts!
I was first (VERY) shocked and then surprised and then honestly, really really 感动.
Never ever expected a guy to do something so completely cheesy!! Can die!
Now gonna have to be extra careful when I bring me books out already.
cheer(ier)
Loving the fresh blooms that brightened up an otherwise dreary day…
I hate pms… Have been feeling major-ly depressed these few days…
Mahjong Noob is me!
I love Mahjong, but I always have a hard time enjoying the full experience.
Because first of all, I lose 70% of the time. 10% when I play with the Right people,
and the last and rare other 20%… when lady luck decides to visit.
I admit my mahjong skill is a little lousy, and I’m often lost thinking.. NOW WHAT?!
I also take forever to count after throwing the dice to figure out where to take cards.
And sometimes a lifetime to decide what card to throw & what exactly I want to play.
PLUS! I don’t like to play too big (Max. 30/60cents) coz I just like to play & touch tile,
I’m not there to split my salary three ways coz I always lose mah!!!
And I hate ‘Shooter pay all’ rule. Coz I am too busy making my own cards,
WHERE GOT TIME OR LEFTOVER CONCENTRATION TO GUESS WHAT OTHER PPL PLAY?!
So there… that being said, compatible mahjong kakis become far and between.
Only my mom & aunt sometime eng siew me and play with me - Guarantee lose money.
Yesterday, by chance, I found someone who seem to mirror my thoughts,
damn super duper excited that I might have found myself a mahjong twin,
I fasterly fasterly started hunting down fellow impromptu-friendly mahjong-ers.
It happened, 2 hours later, and I walk back $17 richer.
Only to realise oops… that covered only 1-way cab leh. But whatever lah!
Still mad happy that I finally found compatible mahjong kakis.
Though he’s still more advance than me coz he can count where to take card. hahaha
Skincare!
Quick makeup routine: Slap on some foundation, draw my brows, line my eyes & clear gloss.
I love getting compliments on my skin! It’s almost as good as ‘You’ve lost weight!’ HAHA
And my secret to skincare? Fancl Collagen, Dermalogica’s everything & daily face masks!
Every two days, I do a quick 7mins hydrating gel mask coz of my drier skin.
And in between, I’ll do a clay purifying or multivit or micro-exfoliating mask etc.
Most most most importantly is the effort to drink more water of course!
However, although the overall condition of my skin is pretty decent,
my pigmentation issue just below the corner of my eyes always saddens me.
I’ve used a million spot lightening creams, but have seen little improvement.
Also, I always have to use foundation so as to hide my under eye dark circles…
*sigh* Anyone got skincare tips that specifically targets and improve these?
I’ll love you to death & commemorate your great sharing with a post here if it works!
Miu Miu o’er the years ♥
Came across these visuals via Style Registry and am truly smitten!
Among the brands I love, Loewe, Chanel, Marc by MJ… Miu Miu is definitely one of them.
The young, but oh so stylish designs, the ever so pretty shoes and OMG… THE BAGS!!!
Check out this Spring 08 series with Kirsten Dunst! Love it!!
Some other campaigns from the past…
There’s something incredibly intimate about a man putting on shoes for a lady…
it gave me butterflies in the tummy the last time a guy did that. hehe
Love this loud yet classic and understated bag…
Literally, traffic stopping shoes. My heart skipped a beat. *sigh~*

many feelings, but little words…
Anyway, 一言难尽 better to just post narcissitic photos. Tata~
Kicking back…
Malacca is a wonderful day-trip chill out place…
After an afternoon of roaming the streets and doing the tourist on a river cruise,
nothing beats sitting by the rivera to have an ice cold beer while taking in the sights…

Recently been superbly craving for Italian food.
Especially the extremely cheesy max stuffs! Love love love!
Bruschetta with Spinach & Artichoke Dip - Italiannies @ Sunway Lagoon SC, Malaysia
The Antipasti Platter - Galbiati Gourmet Deli @ Rail Mall, Singapore
I love Italian restaurants with Antipasti platters/buffet.
Any fabulous ones in Singapore to recommend? ;P
Hey Ho!
Bright Summer Colors for Dull Disheartened Souls!
Needed to paint my nail a happy color to blow away the dark overcast.
My wisdom tooth is still swelling & hurting like a megabitch with accompanying migraine!
Just finish doing my waaaaayyyyy looooong overdue travel insurance claim.

N-logy - Part II
[ … continued ]
We were texting along the day when I mentioned I’m knocking off early.
(Which is extremely damn rare because in my previous co. I OT everyday)
So an impromptu decision was made to meet up for dinner.
What happened next was really funny.
First, he sent me a link with a photo of himself.
(Which I have long ago inquisitively googled for and saw. HA.)
Next, he called and we spoke to each other for like 1min.
(And then he said what everyone who met me via my blog said -
That I do not sound like what they imagined me to sound like.)
On the way to meet him, I texted Barf, Jeff & Jas about meeting up with him.
then told them his name, his contact no, his job and where we are meeting.
And then dressed in my usual black dress with black pumps staple,
we met up for the first time at Ang Mo Kio Hub - Dian Xiao Er restaurant.
It felt like meeting an old friend. Like we’ve known each other forever.
We talked, laughed and exchanged a million sarcastic jokes & jibes.
Hours later, we called it a night and he offered to send me home.
To be safe, in case he’s crazy, I made him drop me off a few blocks away.
And I walked home from my decoy block after I see him turn out.
- - - - -
I told my 3 Best friends - It’s good. I have a new Very good friend.
We just clicked so easily and could talk about anything under the Sun!
There is absolutely no attraction nor awkwardness between us whatsoever!
I have a NEW BFF!!!
- - - - -
One dinner turned into two, turned into a daily affair.
Somehow, he seems to always knock off on time whenever I did,
and work late whenever I had to finish up my work late too.
We caught some movies and hung out like all friends do.
And we always go dutch.
- - - - -
2 Great months later, he confessed his feelings for me, we had a good talk,
and we started going out as a couple, holding hands on our dates.
We took things really slow, and exchanged our first kiss 2 weeks later.
We dated for 6 wonderful months filled with endless joy & excitement,
but… 世界上没有不散的宴席 & for some reasons I’m not willing to share now,
we’ve decided to call it off and go back to leading our own lives…
Perhaps some day I’ll write abt it again, but for now, I just want it to rest.
Besides, I really just want to sleep off my wisdom toothache & migraine… Tata!
P.s Okay. I know very anti-climax, but just suddenly feel I’m not ready to talk abt it yet.
Cacophobic
I fucking hate the ad on the left.

N-logy - Part I
Nay & I begun just like You & I.
He too was a reader of this little space I use to indulge in my thoughts.
He first left a comment here in 2006, and later a few more here and there,
till his more frequent comments mid last year turned persistent into emails.
It begun with a hostile reception from me, but I soon started to warm up to him.
Our almost daily emails explored our thoughts on relationships and life in general.
Many a times, we shared at lengths our problems and thoughts with each other.
Perhaps it was the need to escape from our failing relationship that bonded us together,
perhaps we both needed a someone that our significant other was not being,
perhaps we needed someone whom we could share with no holds barred. Perhaps.
When my dad passed away, he gave me his no. in case I needed a listening ear.
But it was hard to compress our usual 500-word long emails into 160 letters,
so we stuck to our daily chain emails for a little while more…
Days became weeks became months, and the emails only became longer and longer.
We wrote when we were happy, we wrote when we were sad, we wrote the mundanes,
he wrote when he was at work or was away, I wrote late into the nights after work.
We found joy and comfort and escape in each other’s words…
It wasn’t long before we started texting through the day and late into the nights.
There were never ending things to constantly share, question, talk & ponder/laugh about.
Our friendship seems so good & so strong, we took the inevitable step 4 months later…
The Decision to meet up.
[to be continued…]
Over
I don’t want to be with Nay anymore.
I don’t trust him and seriously feel I’m being played out big time.
He’s pulling me by the nose to his whim and trying pull a fast one on me.
I’m done lying wide awake in bed wondering while he’s out there leading another life.
I deserve better than playing second fiddle to a shitty lying idiot.
There. I said it.
Will write the obligatory story when I am done crying over spilled milk AGAIN. FML!
HATE!
Nay is a damn big piece of smelly shit.
I saw his name in my email and wanted so badly to hit my screen and break it.
So I write his name on a piece of paper in caps with a black bold marker
and poke it a million times with a fork like a voodoo doll.
SUFFER IDIOT SUFFER!!!
爱
Always love the beautiful street lamps and architecture near rivers…
总是忍不住寂寞 掉下眼泪你才会给安慰
担心短暂的晴天 随时都可能被阴霾收回

因为太怕失去你 所以连快乐里 都装满伤悲
Happy Birthday Singapore!
August marks the birthdays of many whom I love.
One of which, is my beloved homeland - Singapore!
Every year without fail, I would be all hyped up to watch the National Day Parade,
Snap into giggly school girl mode…
Go goo goo gah gah over men in uniform- LOVE NAVY!! … fucking smart looking can!!!
Fire up with warm patriotism to sing-a-long to homely tunes…
There’s really no other song quite like Kit Chan’s Home ♥
And well up with tears of pride when I see our beautiful country…
45 Years of Nation building turned Sg River from a bustling port into this modern Cityscape!
- - - - -
This year, our National Day parade was once again brought back to the Padang.
Then known as Municipal Building, now as City Hall & soon National Art Gallery of Singapore…
Firstly, it was because our Marina Bay floating platform is being used
to hold the Opening ceremony of the Inaugural Youth Olympics.
And secondly, the padang and its road is perfect for the Mobile Column segment,
which had been showcased once every five years since 1990.
I never knew the significance of this Mobile Column showcase besides the aesthetics,
until Nay told me about the importance of showing the world our military capabilities.
And so for the first time, I had a personal commentator walking me through it all!
However did they all line up and move so neatly together?
Love the air show segment. The F15 fighter jets were damn cool!
I was glued to the TV the whole time, watching the parade offerings,
making snide comments to myself about the horrible remix-es of classic songs,
the cheesy superhero costume clad boys protecting our country,
and finally, my eyes completely lit up seeing the sights of these…
Oh… How I wish, I wish, I wish I was right there live watching the skies light up!
But the beauty of it all was still captured endlessly stunningly on the screen.
About half an hour later, just as I thought it was all over & watching a variety show,
I heard the unmistakable sound of pyrotechnics close enough to make me jump
and ran all the way out of my house to the corridor, then to my kitchen window,
to catch a glimpse of the beautiful fireworks our gov had brought into the heartlands.
The night finally felt complete as I stood there smiling brightly to myself.
A few households broke into cheers and clapping when the fireworks ended,
and I heard a kid loudly shouting out ‘HAPPY BIRTHDAY SINGAPORE!’
Indeed ♥
