Illustrated Book as a Wedding Gift
Some illustrated pages of a book for an acquaintance who wanted to present it to her husband as a wedding gift. The book was to capture their shared experiences and aspirations. The story was completely her own and although the turn around time was tight, I had fun illustrating it. :)
Yogurt Fiction
Same poster project. Berrylite is a yogurt franchise which uses hollywood-themed graphics, so i proposed a movie-themed design for their publicity poster.Of course, i was totally biased in choice of movie :p

Desserts
Spot illustrations for a poster layout. They were laid out separately in rows and columns in the design, but i thought to try putting them together instead as if they were on a table. Man, I got quite hungry while rendering these...edit: included are examples of lienwork and base colour of the ice cream dessert.

Movie Batman in Neal Adams pose
This is something I've been working on on an on/off basis. Its based on an artworkby Neal Adams from Batman #251 (1973): "The Joker's Five-Way Revenge". I did an interpretation of it using the recent movie version of Batman, with a different, city background.

OIC Portrait Day Sept pixs
Another wonderful Saturday at MAAD! About 40 artists took part! What makes the day special is that some customers who couldn't get a slot last month made a special trip down this month just to get their portraits drawn! And Bernice ( who is a return customer for the umpteenth time ) is back with more friends!! Thanks Bernice! Thanks to all helpers, artists and posers for taking part and making the event possible! Be back in OCTOBER for OIC Anniversary special!! See you soon!!more pixs here
Tiger Translate
This was done for Tiger Translate sometime last year. It's now on their site under the "Change" theme. The illustration was my take of how global warming to its extreme might see little Singapore sinking with lots of sea water around. Even though the little guy is surrounded by water, there's nothing he can consume and so is really happy when he sees bottles of Tiger Beer floating in the distance. A friend who saw my illustration thought I'd intentionally put the number "40" (read as say-deng) meaning bound to die in cantonese and thought it was really apt, which made me laugh! :)
F1 night race
An F1 illustration I did for TimeOut magazine last month. The idea was to have the streaks of light from the race cars form the outline of an F1 car amidst the city lights. The city is not based on any specific geography. I sort of did a weird amalgam of landmarks and added buildings, roads and highways in between.

Esplanade Presents: Of Music And Mayhem
SO HELLO EVERYONE!!! Zid here, back from the DEADDDDDDD. This is the product of me missing in action for 2 months: a suicidal 87.1 meter installation. Disclaimer: It can definitely be much better should I have been given the appropriate time to complete this. This will do for this crazy attempt. If anyone feels like taking a walk down the Esplanade tunnel accompanied by linear narratives, feel free to do so from tomorrow until Oct 4th!
