7th Month
1st July. 7th month into year 2010.
Time has just waved her magic wand, and voila. LOL. In less than two months, its my turn to step into my mid-twenties. For once the number meant something to me, on a more personal basis. I hope it will be a blast, and as a way of embracing life onwards.
Friends who have known me will know I am plagued by self-esteem and confidence issues. Its getting better these days, but it still haunts me on and off. I still have work to do in these areas, but its much manageable these days.
I have a lot more things to look forward to, and I shall!

Barely living
Been quite drained out by work, and literally feeling quite zapped of energy. Doesn’t help that I can’t reveal too much about work, though working on a research project.
June has ended. A few revelations are good enough turn my life around, and yes, its all glory to Him.
Gonna crash to bed. Tata!
Defining moments…
Its Sunday morning, and I am still wide awake, despite being tired out by the long day… amazingly, it turned out not too bad… and yes, yours truly finally had a chance to spend some time with the bf whom has just arrived back from London recently.
I spent my morning at the skin clinic, as I was pretty anxious about the bout of skin irritation that returned… however, it turned out to be a manageable problem as long as I do not let it rage out of control. :X
Annual review of my condition is confirmed in September, and I am looking forward to what’s in line for the second year of treatment, if need be. (Another post on the updates is in the works).
Saturday also marks the day of what will the days ahead look like, and its set to be perhaps one of life’s transforming moments. I don’t deny the road ahead will be unpredictable, but hey, it gets boring if it’s predictable.
The smile has returned, but the journey has just begun…

Wonderful Wednesday
Have a wonderful midweek

Exhibition: Pixar
Went to take a look at the exhibition, “20 years of Animation: Pixar”, which is still being till 27th June 2010!
It was truly an eyeopener, as one gained deeper insights of how these animation films are produced.
I am pleased to see most of my favourite film characters on exhibit, like Toy Story, Cars, Finding Nemo… and oh yes, all of that clay models they did when modeling the character.
I have so much to ramble on about, but I shall not as the exhibition is still on going, and I very much strongly encourage you to take a look
Here are the rest of the photos that I’ve taken throughout the Pixar Exhibition.
Thanks to Band PR and Singapore Science Center for the invite, and photo opportunity.

Event: Samsung Galaxy S & SuperJunior
Was invited to Marina Bay Sands where the launch of the Galaxy S and media appearance of SuperJunior was held.
(oops, I am 15 days late into writing this entry, but better late than never).
Ain’t the Samsung Galaxy S a beauty? I was pretty impressed with what I saw and touched that day. It’s body is light to be carried, and the UI is so responsive and fast. Not to mention that the camera captures images so beautifully.
Of course, during the 5 mins I had with the phone, I am not able to identify any flaws or things that can be worked upon on the Galaxy S (would love a review set for a more detailed review).
Went clicking frenzy when SuperJunior appeared. Definitely looking as good as they were in posters.
Of course, there was a SuperJunior Showcase… which I brought my cousin along (she’s a huge SuperJunior fan) and she was screaming with excitement when I said I could bring her to the showcase.
So yeah, here’s her write up of the showcase:
For a fan, meeting his/ her idol is a dream come true. Thanks to SingTel, Samsung and SM Entertainment’s cooperation, Korean boy band Super junior was able to come to the Marina Bay Sands convention centre in Singapore to promote the latest Samsung mobile phone, GALAXY S, allowing the attending fans to realise their dreams. Being a fan myself, I can proudly say that my dream has come true:D! Seeing them in real life made me see even more that their talents are definitely top-notch and that they really deserve the popularity that they are getting now. Their dancing and singing were absolutely perfect. It’s like watching them on the television or on the computer but the only difference is that you are very much closer to them and the atmosphere is so real that you cannot believe they are right in front of you.
Though it was a very short showcase, I am sure everyone had enjoyed themselves so much. In total, 5 songs were done. Firstly, starting with a bang, they performed their 4th album’s hit, ‘Bonamana’, with great ease and skill, pouring their charisma into the audience. Yesung then continued the showcase with his ballad solo ‘It Has to Be You’ for Korean drama, ‘Cinderella’s Stepsister’. His soothing yet sad voice not only touched everyone, but also brought about many screams. Following that, sub-group Super Junior-T presented their ever famous ‘Rokkugo’ which brought many to their feet. After taking a break to celebrate Ryeowook’s 22nd birthday in advance, sub-group Super Junior-H ‘Pajama Party’ didn’t fail to put a wide smile on everyone’s faces and brought about a bubbly joyful atmosphere. To bring the showcase to a wonderful end, Super Junior wowed the crowd with their 3rd album hit that shook the world, ‘Sorry Sorry’.
I was rendered speechless by them, and am still speechless. I have followed them on the net since the second half of last year, watching videos of them, so seeing them face to face at such a close distance was a huge thing. Although everyone may have had different reactions to seeing them in real life, everyone had one thing in common: the love for Super Junior. Everything that you see in the Bonamana music video, their makeup, their outfits, their hairstyles was all presented wonderfully at the showcase. The only thing that was different was that the charisma of the huge group of beautiful boys dancing and singing together was many times more. Thus, I stepped out of the convention centre unwillingly, because of 2 reasons: wanting them to perform more songs, and wanting to meet them in person. So close yet so far. Ha…looks like I have another dream to fulfil… But, I felt extremely happy, very contented and blessed that I could have the chance to see them, even for a short while. I wish them all the best in everything and look forward to their upcoming concert in Singapore next year. So, with the after effects of the showcase still shaking me, I continued my journey home with a blissful smile.
(PS: Eeteuk’s abs are real and I just love Sungmin and Ryeowook’s fringes)
Big thanks to Darryl Kang, Singtel, and Samsung for the invite.

Slow pace
Feeling tons better, just have to take the next few days easy…given that I just recovered from an infection.
This has yet pushed back my slew of backlog, as well as my other plans… Lol.
Am pleased that the bf is back, and I am looking forward to seeing him. Ldr certainly takes a toil on us.
In the meantime, peeps please take care of your health! The flu season is back again.

Fallen Sick
Nursing an upper respiratory tract infection at the moment. How timely.
All this while I thought it was just a harmless runny nose, but it has escalated into a blocked nose and cough.
Am happy Terence is back home, I miss him very much
Work’s great this week, closing 2 projects, save for some odds and ends…

bumble busy
Really too busy to write for these few days. Feeling quite drained out as well, but bear with me, for I am tweaking my time management.
Yesterday night was an awesome night at Nokia’s Connection 2010 – Ultimate Night Out. It sure feels like a reunion of sorts, catching up with people, and to check out the X5 and N8!
Both devices have different target market, and I think it would suit the target group well.
I can’t say much here, as I am writing on the move, but a post will be in the works for these devices.
Oh yes, The Rookie finals will take place this Saturday, make sure you’ve cast your votes for your favorite contestant.
Signing off for now,
Nicole
Weekly updates
It’s Friday, once again signaling the start of the weekends. Weekends have always been precious, and it will be.
World cup is here, and I would hear people shouting goal from their house tv sets, or at bars. So gonna be fun soaking into the whole fever, though I am no world cup fan. :p
I wrote this post whilst on the move, using the wordpress app on the Blackberry Bold 9700. Yup, am reviewing this gizmo, and am loving it thus far.
Somehow, the BB fits into my lifestyle perfectly, having all the apps I need, as well as keeping me in touch almost instantaneously.
By the time you are reading this, yours truly would be dozing off in the train for a quick snooze, or at the lab :p

Posterous
I will just use this post today to plug my posterous site
I used to have a tumblr account, but left it to neglect after finding out about posterous. Well, posterous became a default choice for me to post photos or little snippets when I couldn’t blog a lot on my wordpress blog.
One can tell that all the photos in my posterous are shot with the N97 camera, and then uploaded via Gravity. Gravity is a sweet neat app for twittering and uploading photos through various services, which I paid for it with no regrets
Posterous does a one stop publishing through all the networks that you specify, so thus my twitter, facebook and plurk are all updated with a posterous link each time I publish something. Did I mention that posterous is simple to use?

PS: Photos are still under processing. I so need to sit down tonight and filter them all
Reflective Photoshoot
Sometime back, I went on my first photoshoot with Shutter Journey of Singapore, and the theme was Reflections. Like Allan has mentioned, I picked the hardest topic for my first shoot. LOL. I didn’t think of it much and brought the Samsung NX-10 out for the shoot.
True enough, it’s not easy trying to capture reflections, and keep in mind of composition and other nitty gritty details. The weather wasn’t helping us much, but still, I had loads of fun
Of the whole shoot, this is my favourite shot:
and this:
The blurred object is actually the Nokia N900, which acted as a nice reflective surface to shoot the light with. You could also see the reflection of the Samsung NX-10 18-55 mm lens.

The Beginning
Whatever I am doing, I could almost see the ending. The victory may be bitter sweet, but it’s definitely not the end.
Rather, the Beginning.
I never once felt good about myself, because of the past, my looks, confidence and esteem. But it’s all changing for the better, and in the process, I learn more about myself.
Confusion may set in, puzzlement in time, but as I figure my way out, I feel liberated. I never felt this much of joy, and accepting myself as who I am.
The realization couldn’t have come at a better time, and right smacked in the middle of 2010, it’s the right time.
It will take a lot more to reveal what I am going through, but in time to come, all will be revealed.
There are some people I would have to thank for, because they have shown me that it’s possible.

working on a cold saturday
Cold and stormy saturday morning… and a freezing lab. wow, what more can I ask for?
The month of June has started well I guess, with work taking up a huge chunk of my time as well. The sacrifices will be worth it, because I am to complete the project real soon! It’s a miracle.
Will spend 2 Saturdays working, but very looking forward to after work dinners. Of course, I can’t wait to be able to sit down for some me-time.
Yikes, I should stop writing now and get back to work

Flurry Fluff
It’s Flurry Thursday because I woke up with fluffed hair.
Or for the lack of it, messy hair.
I know the photo has no relevance to what I just rambled, but hey, flowers put one in good mood

Review: Starz Restaurant
Made my second trip to Resort World Sentosa, but this time, it’s to try out the food that Starz Restaurant has to offer at Hard Rock Hotel.
The decor struck me as warm and inviting, and the bright lights complements the colors of the chairs and glass table.
More comfy seating awaits, and bathed in purple light… sure sets the mood for a relaxing and enjoyable dinner. Every detail was taken care of, right down to how the cutlery was arranged.
I could go on and on about the decor, but I guess everyone’s hungry for the delish food pictures… Food pictures can trigger hunger. You have been warned.
The buffet selection was a feast for the eyes, and each food item was garnished and presented in such a way to tempt you to “pick and eat me”, and yes, I found myself picking up morsels of food, in a bid to taste them all.
For starters, there’s stuffed peppers with cheese, pickled carrots, anchovies (which was salty, but leaves a nice aftertaste, and whet my appetite for more food), mushrooms and olives.
I particularly like the presentation of each starter dish, as the colors were pretty and tempting. Visual and gastronomical feasting of the senses.
A photo of the salty, but oh so yummilicious anchovy.
The tastebuds were awfully delighted, with a selection of fresh seafood. And yes, they look and taste good, that I can’t help but repeatedly pick at the seafood salad.
Does the prawns look tempting?
The seafood salad was a lovely mixture of prawns, baby mussels, and squid! Mixed in a tangy sauce with greens, it packs a nice sweet and subtly spicy punch. You could taste the freshness of the seafood, which wasn’t overwhelmed by the sauce.
The mussels were fresh, but somehow I feel a little disappointed that the sauce masked the otherwise delicate flavor of mussels. The Oysters on the other hand, laying on a bed of ice, were literally screaming “EAT ME”. And yes, freshly shucked oysters, seasoned with lemon juice and sauce, makes a heavenly treat.
Not forgetting the succulent steamed prawns, with its sharp looking beady black eyes. The orange hue of these prawns contrasted well with the paleness of ice. Do you feel like eating them now?
In case you are not a fan of seafood, there are cold salads to start your stomach off to a good feast as well. Potato salad, Spicy Chicken Salad are some of the 5 salads offered. Oh, you can also mix your own ceasar salad! (Oops, no pictures).
Take my word for it, the crisp greens goes well with all that yummy croutons, bacon bits, and of course, not forgetting the salad sauce. A good toss, and voila, all that yummy salad greens will do you loads of guilt relieving from all that eating.
Wash that all down with some warm mushroom soup. Each spoonful was not rich, but just nice to savor the chokeful flavours of mushroom that goes into the soup.
Complement the soup with some yummy bread from the bread basket, with a choice of bread rolls, and soft butter to go with it. Or perhaps some crackers. (They actually taste good with the soup)
Brie, Blue Cheese, Cheddar, Parmasan cheese were available, and cut the portion of the cheese you would consume. One can enjoy the cheese as it is, or spread it over the crackers. I pretty much enjoyed chewing on the cheese on its own
The Western food offerings includes Mini Wagyu beef burgers, lasagna, and not to forget the baked tomatoes, fish and roasted potatoes!
The baked fish was done nicely, no fishy taste, and the garnishing made it visually tempting. The flesh was firm, and does not crumble easily upon cutting.
What got me raving as the roast beef. Sliced thickly, and still looking pink in the middle! The gravy complemented the beef, and makes each bite as good as it gets. It was easy to slice, and the gravy brings out the beefy flavor.
After all that western food, perhaps a bowl of laksa? Cooked on the spot, to your request and choice of noodles.
It’s spicy and fiery sting of the laksa gravy hits the palate, complimented by fresh prawns, tau pok and shreds of laksa leaves. One word: Shiok.
Indian cuisine is readily available, with different chutneys, curries, papaddum, and bryani rice as well.
For the Japanese food lovers, you would be pleased to know that each sushi is handmade by the Japanese Chef.
Each sushi could be easily eaten in a single bite, and the sushi rice tasted light, with very little or no smell of vinegar. One could request the quantity of the type of sushi, and there are a selection of maki as well, though limited variety.
I ate the Salmon, Unagi and Tai Sushi. Needless to say, I enjoyed the sushi very much, as fresh fish were used, and the chef enjoys making the sushi, which adds a touch of love to the food he makes. That made my day.
Desserts are something I would die for, and I wasn’t disappointed with Starz Restaurant’s offering of desserts.
The cakes, chocolate eclairs, pastry demands attention on its own.
The chocolate eclairs were just nice, not cloyingly sweet, and easy on the throat. The little cakes each packed a punch of flavors that sets the dessert compartment in the stomach reeling with delight.
But the best of the lot goes to the Apple Crumble. Truly crumbly, with a tart of moist, juicy apple bits that fills up nicely through out the whole pie.
See how packed nicely packed the fillings are? I would gladly go for more helpings of the apple crumble.
The Cheng Tng I had was surprisingly easy on the sugar, and loads of dried longan in them. Slurp!
If pastries, cakes and hot desserts are not your thing, fret not.
Gelato! or Gelati (plural). From lemon to strawberry, yogurt, green tea flavor, it left me spoilt for choice. Raisins, Cranberries, Pineapple bits, Chocolate Rice and Chocolate Sauce are available to decorate the your dessert if you wish.
The Green Tea gelato
How about a scoop of gelato to go with some waffles?
Oh yes, I created my dessert:
Hehe, I quite like it though
After all that amount of food, desserts, what more than a nice cup of freshly brewed tea to wash it all down? It aids digestion and not to mention, a wonderful way to end the lovely buffet.
Overall, I like the swift and prompt service by the staff at Starz Restaurant, and the food. The decor’s a touch of elegance, and puts a diner in a mood for a relaxing buffet.
Special thanks to Shutter Journey for organizing the FoodArt shoot to Starz Restaurant, Hard Rock Hotel, Resort World Sentosa.

Beyond June…
It’s the first day of June, which means half of year 2010 has flown by.
Wow, and do think that 6 months flew this fast, what’s to be said for the other 6 months? If I thought 2009 was a crazy year, I would be very wrong. By far, 2010 has surpassed most of my expectations (ok, my expectations were low)…
Life’s up and down like a rollercoaster, but I will get by, I know I will.
Perhaps the best of all is learning how to be at ease with myself, letting go and have a good time.
August would be an exciting month, hopefully. Apart from that I guess it’s back to the daily grind.
And yes! Look out for some interesting posts along the way this week. The next one’s scheduled to be published tomorrow!

Event: Live it Up Without Lighting Up
Was part of the FlashMob yesterday starting from SMU Green. The other 2 mobs started from Heereen, and Orchard Central respectively. Each group were decked out in different color t-shirts, which made us look like a moving group of colors!
Pretty thankful that it didn’t rain The event started and many of us were fumbling with receiving the instructions via the provided radio receivers…
We ended up walking in a big circle around SMU… and walking without lighting up! The walk was pretty ok, though I was expecting more fun like shouting cheers and stuff like that (perfect chance to do something spontaneous and fun) :X
Stayed till the final lucky draw, though I didn’t win, but congrats to clauds, dk, justin and qq’s brother The bands performances were great (now who say we have no local talent?)
Kudos to the organizers for putting the event together. Though I felt that more could be done to make the experience enjoyable. I couldn’t hear the Emcee in the group, and certainly don’t feel the vibe of the Great Audio Experience.
I certainly had a good time watching the performances, and that smoking is never cool to begin with

Save me, someone.
Woken up this morning on a hot and sunny Saturday, and it struck me at the state of confusion that I am in. Am I being too impatient with my current circumstances? Or am I just torn?
Or a good girl gone bad?
I never felt so awkward really, trying to find out who I am, or perhaps I am trying too hard. I lost count the number of times that I fight myself… the times I break down and cry, because of the empty void in the heart…
I really don’t know what else to do. I really don’t.
Save me, someone, please?

Fab Friday
Happy Vesak Day!
If you are reading this, and not seeing me online, either on Facebook, Twitter, it’s a very high chance I am still cosying up under my blanket in bed.
I am pretty much glad to be back writing more actively, and having a much better work-life balance. Not totally balanced to my liking, but fine tuning it along the way. Hurray to be able to keep writing. Oh yes, need to fix my google analytics setting for this blog template. Lazy me.
Apart from being back writing more actively, I am also on a journey to figure out my own strengths, weaknesses and what I can do It will be a rough road ahead, but I am enjoying the steps I’ve walked thus far.
Okie, till the next post!
Nicole
Briefly Updates
Tuesday’s Gala Premiere of Sex and the City 2 certainly marked the start of this awesome and busy week! It’s so nice to have met up with fellow bloggers to watch the movie at GV Vivo, and thanks for the invite, Amelia! Am glad to have been able to make it, and I quite enjoyed the movie, though am not a huge fan of SATC.
Went to Resort World’s Hard Rock Hotel Starz Restaurant yesterday, and I must add that I had a blast with the other photographers, eating, laughing and snap photos. Write up will come real soon, but my first hurdle would be sorting through the photos, and touch them up if needed.
Tonight will be another night out, and my, I think I am getting old already lor. LOL! Yeah, but it certainly feels fun to be spending time with friends
Yes, Pixar’s writeup is coming, in a day or two.
Keep an eye out on it!

I maybe dumb, but not stupid
Was shuffling songs in my Nokia N97 when this track came up… pretty awesome. It reminds me of silly times in the past, and yes, love do make one do silly things. All in the namesake of love.
No worries, I ain’t emo-ing, just enjoying this track.
Rihanna – Stupid In Love
Lyrics taken from here
Mmm, stupid in love, oh
Stupid in love, hmm
Let me tell you something,
Never have I ever been a size 10 in my whole life
I left the engine running, I just can’t see,
What you would do if I, gave you a chance to make things right.
So I made it even though Katie told me that this would be nothing but a waste of time, and she was right.
Hmm, don’t understand it but on your hands,
Just knew that you’re sister repeated you’re trying to tell me lies and I just don’t know why.
Oh, this is stupid, i’m not stupid
Don’t talk to me like i’m stupid
I still love you but I just can’t do this
I may be dumb but i’m not stupid
My new nickname is “you idiot” (such an idiot)
Hmm, that’s what my friends are calling me when they see me and ringing to my phone, they’re telling me let go, he is not the one.
I thought I saw your potential,
Guess that’s what made me dumb.
He don’t want it, like you want it, screaming and cheating, oh girl why do you waste your time?
You know he ain’t right. You telling me this, I don’t wanna listen.
But oh, ya sis repeated you’re trying to tell me lies and I just don’t know why.
This is stupid, i’m not stupid
Don’t talk to me like i’m stupid
I still love you but I just can’t do this
I may be dumb but i’m not stupid
Tryna’ make this work
But you act like a jerk
Silly of me to keep holdin’ on
But the dumb’s cap is off
You don’t know what you’ve lost
And you wore all your lies till i’m gone, gone, gone…
But I was the one, which one of us is really gone
No, no, no, i’m not stupid in love
This is stupid, i’m not stupid
Don’t talk to me like i’m stupid
I still love you but I just can’t do this
I may be dumb but i’m not stupid
I may be dumb but i’m not stupid in love

First Look: Per Se Bar & Kitchen
Located in the heart of the city, Per Se Bar and Kitchen promises to shake up your taste buds through its offering of food and drinks. Its a great place to have a leisure meal, or to even just have a drink in hand and chill out.
Its located along Millenia Walk, the row of eateries and restaurants. The decor sets it apart from the rest of the restaurants, and makes it even easier to spot from afar.
More after the jump!
The decor’s is kept simple, and minimalistic, oozing elegance across the place. I pretty much like the layout of the chairs and tables, allowing conversations to take place and flow freely.
Being a fan of brown, earthy shades, I am drawn to the sheer richness of the color that the tables and chairs were adorned with.
There are both indoor and outdoor seating. I would personally prefer outdoor seating if I am chatting with friends over drinks, but wouldn’t mind grooving to the music indoors… Take your pick!
I moved in and out whilst I was there, and I am impressed by the sound quality and of course, the music definitely got me grooving.
In case you are wondering, Per Se Bar and Kitchen offers a variety of Thai food with a western twist, and drinks. I was initially curious of how well Thai cuisine would go with alcoholic drinks. But my fears were unfounded as the food balances really well with drinks.
A must try would be the Signature Cocktails that Per Se has to offer. It helps one to make a better informed selection, since the ingredients are all listed down in the menu.
To kick start the night, I picked the Tsunami Rocks ($16).
Looks good?! I had a bit of a hard time mixing the Grenadine syrup with the rest of the drink though. :X But it was worth the trouble afterall, as the drink had a nice tint of orange, making it visually appealing.
I quite like the drink, as it wasn’t on the sweet side, but rather, a hint of bitter after taste, and that I could taste the alcohol in the cocktail. It wasn’t over empowering on the taste buds, and goes smoothly down the throat.
Apart from Tsunami Rocks, another must try drink would be the Lemongrass Mojito ($14).
The lemongrass lends itself a nice balance to the Mojito blend, and it tasted just right, neither overpowering the drink with it’s strong lemongrass taste, which really goes down well with my taste buds.
I guess by now you would have figured that I am not a sweet drinks kinda person Worthy mentions of other drinks include Erdinger beer on tap (I can hear you say yay!), yummy lychee martinis as well!
The last drink I had, was a specially concocted cocktail based on my memory of the drink I had in Bangkok. Izzat, the bartender, made it for me, and it tasted exactly the same. Blue Sunset was its name, but I nicknamed it the Sunset Breeze. Apologies for the lack of picture for this one.
Okay, enough about the drinks… let’s move on to… the food of course!
A big fan of Thai food, I can’t resist some of the classic Thai dishes like Tom Yum Seafood, and Mango salad.
Mango Salad ($7) – Tangy, fiery, and simply an orchestra of flavors that sets the tongue tingling with delight. Can’t go wrong on this one, and my, be mindful of the chilli padi.
Summer Roll ($7) – Inspired by Vietnamese Spring Rolls, but with a twist. Each individual roll has loads of greens – cucumber, lettuce, carrot and fresh prawns wrapped in it. Dipped it into the sweet and spicy sauce provided – voila! It’s a dish that goes really light on the palette and stomach.
Of course, this could be a healthy fix to balance the guilt of other sinful dishes
Tom Yum Seafood Soup ($8) – Do not be tricked by the clearness of the soup
This one packed a punch, the moment you take your first sip. It goes down nicely and then the spiciness hits. The seafood’s awfully fresh, and need I say more?
The Meat-loversʼ Bruschetta ($7) offers a choice of between chicken and pork, and it comes sitting nicely on toasted baguette. I like the way the dish was presented, and not to mention that the ingredients were mixed well, lending a blend of distinct flavors that complements one another.
There will be a DJ spinning cool music every Saturday…so you could get your fix of music, drinks, and chill out at the same time
Oh, did I mention that there are daily Happy Hours, and that Thursdays are ladies night?
It’s definitely not my first and last visit to Per Se. In fact, I wanna head there again real soon! Oh, if you are going, ask me along too ok? I would love to catch the DJ spin tunes on Saturday!
Many thanks to Victor, whom kindly recommended drinks and food, and the lovely conversation, and Kin Leong, for inviting to check out Per Se.
Nicole
PS: First look at Per Se. I can’t wait to try the other dishes in the menu. I enjoyed myself very much, and I couldn’t have asked for a better Saturday night out experience thus far. And yes, I wouldn’t have heard of this place had it be not a heads up via Facebook.
Backdates
Oh my, I have so many backlogged posts to work on. LOL!
But let me unveil them over time, so guys and gals, please stay tuned and hang in there yeah?
Many would also know that I am on a hiatus from Tech65, but it looks like the hiatus may end later than expected. Fingers crossed, as the coming week will determine what happens next…
Work is gonna get a bit more hectic, but that’s perfectly normal. Work aside, I guess I am very much in love with night life, photography, and back to writing. ;P
On another note, I never felt so great being able to dress up or dress down according to my whims and fancy. More so, when I could have as much fun as I like.
So there, the weekends started and ended with a bang!
Nicole
Good Girl Gone Bad
A favourite song of mine from Rihanna.
I like the tune of the music though… and it’s catchy to keep me company as I look through my work. LOL.
Have an awesome weekend ahead yeah?!

What I’ve Done
It’s amazing how this week has gone by… in a flash, Friday’s here.
Yes, I’ve gotten a new snip and blonde highlights done. No picts here yet, as I would have to style it properly… Though I really appreciate my hairstylist for taking into consideration of how fuss free I would like my hair to be…thus the end result is that I need not comb my hair, but run it through the fingers, and I am all set to get out of the house.
My stylist gave me a hairstyle that I could keep for longer lengths, as well as bangs (only if I decided not to sweep it aside).
New glasses came in as well, and my, I love the simple black and orange frame of mine. The good news is that my myopia didn’t worsen as badly as I thought. 25 degrees in 3 years, ain’t bad. So is the same for my astigmatism.
Might sound as if I am on a spending spree, but no, it’s a carefully planned for. Like an annual makeover kinda thingy
Truth be told, I am very happy with myself, and perhaps acceptance is the first sign of loving myself. I know I still am far from having flawless skin, but at least, no new scars on the face, not even an acne. (4 more months of treatment remaining)
I wanted all these badly since uni days, and now that I have the means to do it, it’s like a wish come true. And to be able to wake up and feel awesome, it’s a great feeling.
If you know how I was like in the past, you might not believe the transformation, but it sure feels good for myself to know how much I have overcome. The past remains the past, the present is now, and the future remains un-foretold.
All in all, I’ve finally walked out of the shadows and into the sunshine!
Nicole
20th May
Happy 21st Birthday to you my dearest sister. I’ve only one wish for you, that is do what you like and be happy.
That being said, thank goodness today is Thursday. As expected, the excitement mounts as time passes, to herald the arrival of Friday… Suffice to say, this week has been a crazy if not as usual week at work. Those whom know me well enough will know I am shuttling to and fro between my own office and the client site…
The days ahead are sure filled with a lot of after work happenings… hmm, oughta pace myself… But what’s coming ahead would be fun, and enjoyable I hope.
I can’t wait to meet some friends tomorrow, and yes, I also can’t wait to check out a new place on Saturday… and yes, more back log photos and write ups coming

Greater things have yet to come.
Cannes Young Lions Ad Contest 2010
A friend of mine, Kenneth, has made a video in his bid for the Cannes Lion International Advertising Festival.
This is his youtube video:
Do click on it, as this will count towards part of the judging criteria.
I thought it was quite an entry, for there are so many others whom submitted their videos as well. These participants only have 48 hours to submit their video, so I guess, it must have been really stressful to get it all done so quickly.
Just doing my bid to plug about his video here, and no, Nicole didn’t take part in the contest
Kenneth, good luck!
Nicole
