the first time is always the hardest..
It is the school hols now for the boy..I didn't sign him up for any holiday camps because the programme is always the same year after year! Wasn't able to take leave so I asked the boy's daddy whether he could he do so and take the boy out. He suggested instead to have the boy stay over at his place for a few days. It would be the first time that Aidan would be staying with his dad since we went our separate ways. Told the boy about it and he was so thrilled. He immediately took out his mini-luggage from the store and started filling it up with his precious toys and books -all the stuff that he wanted to bring over to his daddy's place. I tell ya...I couldn't help it but my heart went *priak* when I saw how excited he was.So the day came and Aidan left with his dad happily. It was a working day so they left while I was at work. When I came home that day, silence greeted me instead of my excitable boy, who would always wait for me to come home so that we can have dinner together. Most of you know what an active (and noisy) boy Aidan is and the house is always filled with his endless chatter and laughter. My helper Nenita was in her room folding clothes and she looked at me morosely when she saw me. "What's wrong?" I asked her."I miss Aidan!" she wailed."Erm..it's not even a day yet!" I said."What if...what if he doesn't want to come back? What if he wants to stay with his daddy forever?" What if...?" she blubbered on.Oh man..she was verbalising the very thought that went through my mind when the overnight stay was suggested. In the end (ironically), I had to comfort her reassuring her that the boy would definitely miss us and want to come back home, no matter how much fun he was having. The night the boy came home..I could see that he'd enjoyed himself tremendously. He couldn't stop regaling us with tales of what he and his dad did together. They watched a movie, had dinners at his favourite restaurants, played Wii games, went swimming.... When I was tucking him into bed, I couldn't help myself so I asked him. "So, do you want to go live with your daddy?"The boy smiled sleepily at me and replied, "No, I want to live here." "Because over here, got mommy."
it's not the end..
Well, a few of you know already..and some of you may have guessed it. I'm currently separated from my used-to-be other half. Yes the bleak state of my marriage does saddens me. I was a wreak for a while but life has to go on .. I'm pretty much okay now. And no point asking whose fault it was cos if we continue to play the blame game, I will be forever stuck in bitterness. I know some people likes to read my blog because it portrayed a 'happy family' image. Heck, many on facebook voted me as the one who is most likely to "live happily ever after". Hiaks. It doesn't help that I used to post many pics of us during the happier times so we are kinda recognisable. So when strangers started leaving 'warning' messages on my blog and emailing me querying about the state of my marriage (!?!), I wasn't really that taken aback. Oh well, my life ain't exactly over and I have a least a couple more decades to live. Yeah, sure my self confidence and esteem have been knocked down many notches. But I do have to be thankful that compared to many other women who are in the same situation, I'm actually quite fortunate in many ways. And I have a lovely boy who is my no.1 priority now. The boy has gradually grown to accept the current arrangement and he's happy that he still gets to see his daddy often. I just gotta get used to being 'single' again. Technically, I'm still married but by the way things are going, the status will most likely change in 3 years time. Some friends have even encouraged me to go for a wild holiday and get myself laid. I know they mean well but it does take time for me to get used to being on my own. Fri nite was interesting. Went out for drinks and ended up (in the words of Tricia) being a samaritan by helping a young bloke (it was his 26th birthday) who had to get a stranger to kiss him in order to avoid drinking copious amt of alcohol. Well, I think he kinda did me a favour 'coz he's the first guy I'd ever kissed that's not my husband since like 12 years ago.It was somewhat liberating albeit it being extremely awkward for me, even though the kiss hardly lasted 3 seconds. I was probably the oldest woman the poor guy had ever kissed (apart from his mother :P). And no, I'm not about to start kissing strangers in every pub I go to in the future. Heh, i actually told Tricia et al not to blog abt it but I'm writing about it all here. I should learn to relax more and take it easy. Believe it or not, I'm just not a pubbing animal even though I may look like one. My main vice is the fags and probably mahjong (although I've not had the chance to play that for a long time *sob*) so chabors (u know who you are!), let's have a game soon. I don't drink much mainly because I turn lobster red with just a few sips of liquor. Hate that because my super sensitive skin gets splotchy red and I look ghastly and people always think I'm drunk. Heh, maybe I'll go get that damn nosejob that I've alway said I wanted! Had gone thru 39 years with a pug nose and I would love to see how I look like with a nice sharp profile :P Gah! I'm gonna be 40 soon and I'm not exactly a spring chicken. Well at least my boobs won't sag since they aren't big enough to. I should be doing something to improve my poor dehydrated, pock-marked complexion (my pics are photoshopped!) and I guess my smoking ain't helping it much (yes, yes Pei Fen, I know I should quit).Life is definitely too short for regrets... wish me well okay :)
the boy..
Aidan actually cried at the end of the movie,Wall-E! It was the first movie that he's ever shed tears at..He's growing up to be a such a snag :POkay..Since I probably have to get the boy's hair cut soon (received too many complaints from teachers/swimming coach), I just wanna post some pics of his longish hair before its gone! Love the color of his hair..so brownish! Yeah, people still thinks he's Japanese or Korean. I've kinda gotten used to 'insults' from strangers & some pple i know. The scenerio is always the same. "Wah..So handsome/cute/good-looking your boy!" "Who does he look like?" Peers at me. "Hmm.mm.okay lah, he's got your eyes..I think!", they will end up saying...almost begrudgingly. Heh..I'm camwhoring my son..Check out his different looks here. He's so used to my camera already :)he has got li' tiny dimples!so cheeky..so fierce..and oh so serious :PGah! A colleague just msged me on facebook telling me that my daughter is very cute! *cries*
Cinderella according to Aidan..
Was looking into Aidan's Lorna Whiston bag and perusing through some of his past revision exercises and this particular one caught my eye...He actually got question 2 right initially..and then changed it to what he felt should be the answer. I did ask him whether he knows the story of Cinderella. He nodded his head. And when I showed him his answers, he justified it by saying that this is what he felt the story of Cinderella should be like..! *facepalm* Methinks he has been watching too many cartoons. Oh man, I'm getting a tad worried about how he's gonna fare in Primary One!Here's the cheeky one :)Yeah, his hair is rather long now..Will have it cut for his school sometime in Nov/Dec!
fireworks fiesta day!
Decided to watch the fireworks festival 'comfortably' this year by booking a room at the Fullerton Hotel..The hotel had a fireworks fiesta hotel package and the rooms offered had an unobstructed view of the fireworks display! It was after I'd checked in that it dawned on me that Ritz Carlton could have been a better choice. Marina Square was the nearest mall to Fullerton and it was quite a distance away. The idea was to go swimming at the hotel pool but the crummy weather spoiled our plans. Furthermore, the depth of the pool was pretty daunting and I thought I better be safe than sorry (especially since I can't swim :P).But no matter what, Aidan still enjoyed himself. The boy loves novelty so he found it all an adventure. He just couldn't get enough of the revolving door *arghh*. What he was most looking forward to was the arrival of Claudia, his li' friend from Hong Kong. He can still remember having a great time with her at Disneyland. Tracey was back in Singapore for a short holiday with the family and I suggested her coming over to view the fireworks display. I was also looking forward to seeing Pei Fen and her li' newborn, Kristy! This was what the kids were doing when they were not chasing each other around the small hotel room..us trying to act cute :PA group pic of the mommies and kiddos..(so tough to get everyone into this pic i tell ya!)And of course, each of us had a turn with li' baby Kristy, including Claudia! She was sooooooooooooo kwai! Slept so soundly even with the kids making such a din!The li' one opened her eyes for a short while when the fireworks came on..and then promptly went back to zz after that..so cute lah!!okay, i didn't bring my tripod so my fireworks pics were quite crappy lah! Here's a semi-decent one..Tracey asked when I would be heading to Hong Kong again..Man, I'm so tempted to go there with Jean at the end of the year..At this age, Aidan would probably won't mind going back there again, especially back to Disneyland! And I do love the cold weather! Will think about it. Feel like going for a ski holiday on my own too..especially since it has been a while since I've last skied.
Spiderman conquering Suntec Tower~
Can u see Spidey? He made it! To the top of the 176 metres Suntec City Tower 1! It actually started to drizzle for a while when he started his ascent but thankfully, it stopped. And the great thing was that the weather stayed cool throughout. Before his climb, Alain mentioned that should there be rain or if he thought that he wasn't able to make it to the top, he'll give us a hand signal to let us know so that we'll loosen the string to let him rappel down. We were like x_x ... oh man, please don't let that happen! The turnout of the event was huge..some came to see Alain Robert in action, others for the grand prize of the Volkswagen Touran Sport and majority for both! The papers reported it as 15,000 but the guys from Suntec told me that it was more likely to be about 20,000+. The crowd reception was fantastic, cheering him when he did his climb and congratulating when he completed it. It took him about 45 minutes to go up and about 10 minutes to come back down. Poor guy was tired after the climb. Could see that his hands were blistered. Oh, and during the grand draw of the Volkswagen Touran Sport, the first name that was picked (William Tiong from Eunos) wasn't around to claim his prize. We waited quite a while to see if he could be amongst the crowd but eventually had to pick another winner, much to the delight of the crowd. Am relieved that this event is over. We only confirmed that we were doing this event slightly less than 1 1/2 months ago and it had been a mad rush trying to put everything together. And we only got the new ST Logo 2 days before the revamp (8 Aug) so can you imagine how short a time we got to prepare for all the materials (outdoor banners/teeshirts/ads/event backdrop etc) which required the logo. We got the police permit to allow the climb just 2 days before the event. Anyway, I think everyone's happy.. we manage to get good coverage from tv which is great coz they hardly cover our events! Next year we'll have another headache so if another one has any bright idea, feel free to share :D~Great turnout..:)Joan was helping me to take pictures of the event.. Most of the (nicer) pics of Alain on this entry was taken by her.+ Kelvin from TNP!At this time, Alain was already somewhere on the 20th storey. With the photogs, Maye-E and Joan and the very coy Wee Teck.Pls ignore my white flabby thighs..The french & singapore ahbeng side by side :P(that's my boss Danny on the right)Getting ready for take-offAlain reaching the top floor and waving to the crowd! This shot was taken by Maye-E (AP Photo), as he was rappelling down the tower..On solid ground..Group picture..The guy next to me is Cyril Lim.one of the best MC for a big scale event like this.He really knows how to work the crowd and is one heck of a funny fella!Group picture with Alain! My photo album on the event hereThe video footage I took..my hands shaky lah, so not very good.Spidey on CNA
Spidey in Singapore :D~
FRENCH professional climber Alain Robert will scale a building here on Saturday as part of The Straits Times' 163rd anniversary celebrations. Read the entire article hereThis event is what I've been busy with for the past few weeks. It is part of the ST's 163rd anniversary event and it will be held this Saturday at a venue I can't disclose at the moment.Last year we had JC Sum, the illusionist teleport himself from the ground to a building rooftop on the 50th storey at Raffles Place. We were actually joking before the event that if the act failed, we would have to make ourselves disappear too. Anyway, the event turned out to be a big success and we had the bosses patting our backs for a good job done. We had been cracking our darn skulls for the longest time to come up with an act that is 'on-par' with that of last year. Initially, we though that we'll do another magic act - like make a car disappear..afterall, our grand prize for the contest is a brand new Volkswagen Touran. But the idea was shot down (yah lah, it was a 'lazy' idea) so it was back to the drawing board. Finally, we decided on getting Alain Robert, aka the Human Spider to come to Singapore and climb a tall building and everyone thought that it would be an interesting feat that Singaporeans would probably like to see 'live' in action (FOC!).If you google Alain Robert, you'll find lotsa newpaper articles about him being arrested for climbing a building illegally. He's scaled more than 80 skyscrapers including famous buildings like the Empire State Building & Petronas Tower. Actually, he'd attempted to climb the tower that he will be climbing in Singapore before. Unfortunately, when he was making his ascent, the head of security happened to be driving past and saw him in action and immediately ordered security to get him down! Thus, he was quite excited when we told him that we would like him to climb that very tower! So, getting him to agree to come down was easy. Getting the necessary permits so that he could climb 'legally' was the tough part..Oh man, the numerous discussions with the police, lawyer, structural engineers, risk accessors, the building owners etc etc. and the heaps of paper work required for submission! But I kinda enjoyed it..! That's why I really like my job. Every event is different with its own set of challenges but I learnt a lot in the process. And it ain't a boring job either..having to be constantly on the move. Oh well, the event is set for this Saturday and we have almost everything in place already! Am just crossing my fingers that it won't rain like it did on National Day! Am wondering still whether to bring Aidan to the event. Am afraid that after he sees 'spidey' in action, he may decide on climbing a building himself *awk*..Yeah, we better remember to tell the MC to inform the audience not to 'try this at home'. Anyway, the venue will be revealed on razor tv this friday so if you happen be around that location this Saturday, do come and have a look! He's here in Singapore already and was at News Centre for an interview..with Amanda from razortv and Alain, aka Human Spider! He had so many interesting stories to tell us..about his numerous climbs, his various encounter with the police and lawyers..Here's a video of him testing the safety harness at the location where he will be climbing this Saturday. On a scale of one to 10, with one being the easiest, he ranked this particular tower a 6 because of the relatively flat surface area of the building. Petronas Tower is a 2 and one of the toughest building he'd climbed was the Chicago Sears Tower (an 8) He usually climbs without any safety device but because this climb is legal and his & the public's safety was the main concern of the authorities, he had to wear the harness. It is not hard to guess the venue actually! Here's a video of him scaling a185-metre skyscraper in Abu DhabiHmm, so did anyone noticed that The Straits Times got a new look? Erm, be honest. What do you think of it?
:)
This week had been quite a stressful one for some parents since it was the balloting day for primary 1 registration last Friday. This year was a 'tough' year because the no. of take-up rate in the earlier phases were unusually high and thus the no. of spaces left over for phase 2B & 2C were much lesser compared to previous years. Only parents who had gone thru the Pr 1 registration for their kid would understand what I'd written. I was really quite blur abt it before but had a mega crash course early this year. One of the best place to get information on Pr 1 registration is at a site aptly named kiasuparents so for some parents whose turn has yet to come, checking out this website early would be a good idea, well that is if you want to be kiasu hehe!.A few of my pals, like Jin and Corrina were vying for places at very popular schools like Nan Hua and Ai Tong..the odds were crazy. Nan Hua for example had only 20+ spaces and had over 80+ applicants (who lived within 1km of the school). That meant there was like a 1 in 4 chance during balloting. Ai Tong had only 40+ spaces for 60+ applicants within 1km applying for the school. Don't know why but I was feeling anxious for them too and was hoping that they would be successful in their balloting. And my prayers were answered and every of my friends' kids got into the school of their choice! Am so happy for them! So next year will be another new phase in Aidan's life..Primary 1! Other parents had warned me that this is when the stressful times really start! I will try to take it easy and not give him undue pressure (pls remind me when I start lamenting about his grades on my blog)...which is one of the reason why I chose to put him into ACS, which supposedly focuses on a well-rounded education. Oh well, just gotta be mentally prepared I guess :)Aidan 'Ryan' & Alison 'Sharpay'I ♥ these pics of Aidan with Alison..They look so adorable together! These pics were taken of the kiddos at the High School Musical : The Ice Tour yesterday at the Expo..It was actually the second time that Aidan and I were watching it as I was invited to the media preview earlier on opening night. But I enjoyed it better the 2nd time round because we had better seats (side view better than frontal view!). I actually know the lyrics to all the songs ('coz Aidan watched the DVD gazillions times!) and was singing along to most of the catchy musical numbers. Could tell that the kids had a great time too, even Ryan who wasn't a High School Musical fan. if you ask me, I'll say the show is definitely worth watching..they showcased music from both High School Musical 1 & 2. The choregraphy was great and they somehow managed to keep many characteristics of the orginal dance moves from the tv show which I think ain't easy especially since it's on ice. The skating was not bad (definitely much better than Disney on Ice) even with the occasional stumbles. And the tickets ain't that pricey either! Here's some pics of the show mostly taken by Jean.Last batch of pics which was taken in the last 2 weeks to end my post:) Yeah, it's been a while since I updated so tons of pics!@the NDP Preview last weekPower Rangers in action~BBQ@Varsity ParkAnd Aidan looking so cool, showing off his new toy!
i is singaporean :D
Happy Birthday Singapore :)
:)
Here's Aidan clowning around when I was trying to take pics of him with Ally..He's quite a joker at times! And so tough to keep up with 'coz he's just so hyper! He can really be quite exasperating especially when he insist on having his way.But most of the time, he's a pretty good boy :)Told him that he's gonna be in an all-boys primary school and he seemed pretty happy. "Because boys prefers dragonball and pokemon!"♥ this li' bugger so much!(aiyoh, he looks so serious in this pic)Heh, the principal signed the acceptance letter on my birthday :)Primary One next year *arghhh*!!!!Yeah, the best is yet to be~************************************At the beginning of this year, I had my palms read for the fun of it. It was at a client's function where they had a palm reader providing free reading services to guests. Interestingly, the palm reader was pretty accurate when she informed me that certain events will take place in my life at the age of 38 (and she doesn't know my age). I was pretty sceptical then and when those events actually did occur, I was not 'prepared' for it.I'm not telling people to believe in palm-readers..I did it because I had time to burn before the dinner started. But the year of 38 hadn't been kind to me and in a way, I'm glad that I've passed that age even though I'm OLDER! I have to admit, growing old is kinda scary. I know I don't look my age but truthfully, I do feel it. I'm so tired now..both physically and mentally. On the night of my actual birthday, a group of siao chabors chose to spend that nite with me and I had a great time with them, chatting about inane stuff and driving the waiters at Graze crazy! Thanks u gals :) And not just those who was there that night..other pals who have been there for me (I'm sure u know who you are!). I really do appreciate it..Well, am just wishing that my 39th year will be more peaceful one! Here's some pics of the crazy nite!My 'birthday cake'Yeah, mega camwhores eh! The waiters were sure glad to see us leave :P
:)
Have been kinda stressed out over Aidan's Primary One registration! Have just gotten the final registration figures from the school and it does seem that Aidan's place in Anglo-Chinese School (Junior) is quite confirmed *phew*. Had applied to the school under Phase 2B (church affiliation). His getting into the school is the best birthday pressie for me :) [erm, my birthday is next week so don't wish me yet :P]
me being boliao again..
Okay..I'm bored. Had a nap in the afternoon which explains why I'm totally wide awake now. Was on a rather long break from work to settle some personal matters and also for the HK trip and will finally be back in the office on Monday! Anyway, since I had so much time on my hand, I did some surfing and decide to post some pics of our current Miss Singapore Universe, Shenise Wong who is currently in Vietnam taking part in the Miss Universe 08 pageant. As there is hardly any coverage in our local TV and most of print media seems to be focusing on that fish scale Merlion-inspired costume, I guess these pics would have to suffice :PYes, this outfit was a talking point amongst many since it was specially designed as Singapore's national costume. It still looks tacky to me..more apt in Disneyland as a costume for one of the mermaids. But I have to say Shenise is probably doing her utmost best to showcase it well. And it literally 'shines' on stage. Okay, let's just compare her outfit to some of the other reps.Korea/JapanMalaysia/IndonesiaPhilippines/Vietnam I can't stop looking at Miss Indo's costume..it makes me feel..erm itchy.I like Miss Vietnam's aoi dai..gorgeous colors and classy. Korea's samurai inspired costume is rather cool-looking!Not surprisingly, Miss Vietnam's outfit made it as the top 10 best traditional costume.. You can view all 10 costumes here. The winner of this contest will be determined by online voting.I was quite surprised that Miss Albania's outfit made it to the top 10 too.I thought she looks like a female Dracula :PI guess the judges liked how the cape incorporated the Albania national flag. And Miss Albania is a striking, nordic-looking statuesque blonde so she was able to carry off the look. Maybe next year, we should just wrap our national flag around Miss Singapore..Okay now, let me just show you some better pics of Shenise with some of the other contestants . She is looking quite pretty, especially in her swimsuit pic! And I gotta say that she's doing a good job there, getting some decent coverage by the press and positive reviews in the pageant forums.Singapore/JapanIndonesia/PhilippinesMalaysia/Thailand I must say that Miss Japan & Miss Thailand are really booby man! Here she is on stage for a fashion show showcasing the Vietnam Traditional Dress. I like this pic of her in the aoi dai..Makes her look young and fresh. Some pics by the media belowat some Ambassador's Gala DinnerInterestingly, Ines Ligron (who is better known as the lady responsible for Japan's good showing at the international pageants in the recent years) had an entry about Shenise in her blog describing her as "a mix of cuteness elegance and sexiness". Yeah I know. I'm so super boliao right?! I was probably some dirty old man in my previous incarnation. Guess you can tell that I really miss doing events like TNP New Face :p

He's got this yaya-papaya look eh.And he looks as if he's got thick eyeliner on!The boy was actually shortlisted for a photoshoot for a Sony camcorder insert but the shoot was to take place last Friday when we were in Hong Kong. Oh well, I guess he would have definitely preferred Hong Kong than doing the shoot! Am sure that there would be other opportunities :) ******************************Yes, we spent one whole week in Hong Kong. Aidan had heaps of fun - not surprising since he had 5 days of Disneyland. As we'd stayed in Disneyland hotel, we were given an extra day pass at the park for every pass we purchased. We encountered rain during our first few days in HK but that didn't spoil our fun. There were no queues so we could go for endless rides and we even watched the fireworks in the rain (with umbrellas shielding us of coz!). I spent one full tiring day at Shenzhen with mengchoo and her kakis..She was there to have her curtains for her new place done. Didn't really buy much there though. Shenzhen is good for buying imitation stuff or home & decor items! The food there was really excellent and cheap though! Have to mention a must place to shop in HK - the Citigate outlets at Tung Chung, Lantau (just 2 stops from Disneyland MTR). It is Hong Kong's first and only outlet mall and houses brand names like Burberry, Club 21,Kate Spade, A/X, Vivienne Tam, Polo Ralph Lauren just to name a few..Tracey joined us at Disneyland with Claudia. You can see more pics of Aidan & Claudia playing together here She also brought us to Stanley Market where the kids got to enjoy themselves at the beach! Aidan got along so well with her kids. Her younger boy Matt kept following Aidan around, insisting on holding his hands and playing with him. Very cute lah!Matt & Aidan :)Claudia and Aidan had so much fun together!Compare this pic of the 2 of them to the one below taken 2 years ago :)">Not hard to guess which ride was Aidan's fave! So when I saw this costume at Stanley Market, I knew I had to get it for him. He loved it so much although I think he looks more like a bumblebee than Buzz Lightyear. Well, at least Toy Story 3 will be in the theatres soon so Buzz wouldn't be so 'out-dated'. Now he's saying that he wants to wear the costume on his birthday *awk*!It was really a good break for me :) Not sure if I'm able to squeeze in one more holiday at the end of the year especially since Aidan is gonna be in P1 next year (so less holidays!!).
:)
weeteck asked me whether Aidan was able to help out for his next TNP GSS Supplement. Asked Aidan whether he was keen and he said yes. Vivienne, one of the last year New Face finalist was roped in to be the 'mother' and he also got 2 other girls, Celine and Yi Xiu (who are reigning title holders of the Little Miss Singapore Cinderellas pageant) to be his 'sisters'. The boy had always enjoyed coming to my office. Understandably so because my colleagues always dote on him so much, giving him sweets and telling him how cute/handsome/cheeky he is...Oh well, I guess he can only be cute for at most 2 more years so he's probably trying to milk it as much as he can :PThat's him surrounded by my chio colleagues, Adeline & Wan Ting..Boy getting his hair done..I think they just made his hair messier :D~Thankfully. the makeup artist said Aidan didn't need makeup..said he had natural 'lip gloss' on :)Aidan attacking Wee TeckWee Teck taking revenge~With his pretty 'mummy'..Boy waiting impatiently for the shoot to start..He did have a good time and the shoot went really well. Helped that the girl, Yi Xiu, he was holding hands with was just as active and cheerful as he was. I was speaking to Yi Xiu's (who's 8 years old btw) mom and she was telling me that her daughter has been taking part in pageants since she was 4. Yi Xiu was telling me proudly about the competitions she'd won and the ones she's looking forward to taking part during the June holidays. For her age, I have to say that she's really confident and probably enjoys the attention and being able to be dressed in pretty frocks and beautifully made-up. I guess beauty pageants can be good for a child's self esteem too, as long as the kid does have fun and the parents don't get overly stressed and intense about it.Can't wait to see the actual pics, which should be in the paper next month.Aidan did a shoot for the TNP GSS supplement in 2006. Was looking at those pics and realised Aidan hasn't really changed much looks wise in the last 2 years. He's also still as affectionate and lovable and the main reason why I'm able to remain sane and strong during this period :)my fave pic from that batch :P~
:)
This was the result of the eye assessment done by HPB in his school sometime last month. Saw the results in his schoolbag today and was really pleased. NORMAL VISION!!!Compare this to the test that was done last year. I'm really thankful that we did go for the 2nd opinion at Dr Khoo which led to his diagnosis of entropion and the surgery done to correct the problem. Interestingly, my eyesight also 'improved' recently. My short-sightedness was 600 degrees. Recently, I found my vision slightly blury and had actually thought I was becoming long-sighted due to old age (gah~) but the test revealed that my degrees had gone down to 500 degrees *phew*. Now, the tougher part...to ensure that he takes good care of his eyes!!
:)
Just felt like posting more pictures of the boy..He's grown taller but is still so skinny. Can't believe that he's gonna be in Primary 1 next year! We'll be okay..I'm sure.

I know some of you have been rather concerned about my 'silence' from my blog..and many of you have actually emailed me asking abt the lack of entries & my well-being. I do appreciate your concern..I miss blogging but I had to stop for a while to take stock. Anyway, I will be trimming my friends' list and locking most of my future entries from now on.
Unexpected Australia Contest!
Here's a promo that I'd been busy working on. In fact, last week had been a killer coz I had several promos to manage (Singapore Airshow, We Will Rock You, Mosaic Festival and this particular one)! The Unexpected Australia campaign started today with the first sponsored series and contest in SUT and their website - www.asiaone.com/unexpectedaustralia went online! The idea of having participants blog or do a video was my suggestion and to be honest, I'm not sure how the response will be like *cross fingers*. In most of our other contest, the mechanics is always a no-brainer with simple Q&A. Thought it would be interesting to do it differently.Anyway, that's the reason why I'm promoting the contest in my blog! The prize is great. 3 winners and their partner get to travel to the state of their choice in Australia and another state that will be chosen by the Radio 91.3 Djs that will be travelling with them (it will be either Joe & Petrina or Rod & Andre). As you can see from the ad, the experiences that the winners will get to enjoy in Australia are out-of-the ordinary adventures..definitely something worth trying! To take part, just choose the adventure of your choice and write why you think u should win in your blog or you could create a video entry too. Register the url in the unexpectedaustralia website once you've done it! (but winners must be prepared to travel sometime btwn 21 March - 19 April). 7 entries will be shortlisted and 3 will be picked based on public vote. Voters get to win attractive prizes too! Actually, I'm the one sourcing for the prizes and one of the prize I'm getting is a MacBook Air! More info on the contest hereSo friends..do consider taking part or help me spread the word!!!
Gongxi facai!
Wishing all a prosperous & Happy Rat year :D...Btw,Mr Rat is holding a paper aeroplane and that's a drawing of a dragon in the above pic, just in case you were wondering..
:D~
Heh, doesn't the boy look really cheeky in this pose? And he wasn't posing for the camera..he's actually trying to learn how to press the frets on the guitar according to the instructions shown on TV. Yeah, this is my Christmas gift for moi-self..Guitar Hero III! Saw it while gallivanting at Far East Plaza and just couldn't resist it! The boy, as usual couldn't wait to get his hands on it too but I guess it will take a while for him to learn how to play the game. But more importantly, the mommy must master it first!! :)See how serious Aidan is..Yeah, late post but oh well, better late than never. We'd spent New Year's Eve at Irene 's hotel room at Fairmont (formerly Raffles The Plaza) as it had a great view of the Esplanade which meant that we would be able to catch the fireworks at Marina Bay from there. Irene was in Singapore for a few days before making her way to Surabaya. Had a scrumptious dinner with her at Kuriya and I kinda over-ordered so we stuffed ourselves crazy with sashimi and sushi! Trishand Glen joined us at the hotel later. Hub was out having drinks with his colleagues at St James Power Station and I was relieved that he was able to make it to the hotel, in spite of the huge jam at Vivocity and the town area. And boy, was the view fantastic! Aidan, who'd always enjoyed fireworks was so excited and kept yelling "Happy New Year!" at the top of his lungs! Took some videos of the fireworks that night! You can hear Aidan shouting his lungs out in the 2nd video :)
time to celebrate~
Yeah, it's that time of the year again. Our SPH Marketing Year-End Party which was held last Thursday, where we had to dress according to the theme determined by the party commitee which in this case was - Wild Wild West!! Our big boss, James was the 'senior consultant' on the commitee and my boss, Danny was one of the head honchos i/c of the running of the party. One of the event company that we worked closely with lent us most of the props including the swinging bar door you see above..I think they did a fab job transforming the auditorium into a bar saloon! Everyone was feeling rather festive this year probably because Christmas had just passed and New Year's coming but more importantly, this year's bonus was reported to be much better!! It will be given out next week so everyone's waiting in anticipation :)This is the 3rd SPH marketing party I've attended (the first was the Back to School Party and we had the Rock Party last year) which also meant that I've been in SPH for 3 years already! How time flies! I still enjoy my job and the pay is decent (could be better though :P). My colleagues are great and it helps too that the company has pretty good perks. Can't complain much~I went as a cowgirl (how original right :P)..was shopping around and found this gorgeous brown skirt and lacey top and thought it was the perfect attire for me. Loved the straw cowboy hat too because of its material (not the usual suede type) coz I can also wear it to the beach. Paired it all with a brown pair of boots (ikepod - I got it from River Island hor - NOT CHEAP!!) My colleagues were saying that I look so much younger in the outfit and I can't help but agree. Look like little girl leh :P And everyone looked so cool in their outfits..Most of us were either cowboy/girls or Red Indians!Introducing some of the pple from our division - PBP (damn awkward sounding)PBP stands for Product Branding & Promotion. That's James on the far right..He's the big boss I was referring to earlier on so he determines how much bonus we get :PHuey Jiuan, who I've been working with closely together all these years is next to be on my left and Ruth is on my right. That's Ching right in front. Ruth & Ching are in the branding team. With Danny (next to me), Ruth, Ching, April, Willy and Kin!Niccolle (in the middle) is a new addition to our team..She used to be in display sales and transferred over to join us after Grace left.Leslie Fong, our EVP in Marketing (our big big big boss) - probably the only time we'll get to see him in jeans at work.'Kills Cowboys in Jeans'Yeah, there's a rule set by him, that marketing folks aren't allowed to wear jeans in office which explains the copy..James' poster..'Notorious outlaw for the past 21 years. Thousands of slaves have suffered. No less than 100 have died in his cruel hands.Secret weapon - Nagging!"Zoro was there that night..Manoj the indian chief looking very fierce..Petrina was our MC of the night :)Live entertainment from Singapore cowboy, Matthew Tan and the MandarinsAnd a mechanical bull for the daring. I only lasted 14 seconds hehe..The best dressed group contest ended up being a 'highest entertainment value' contest. Our creative folks from PBP really went all out and impressed the judges winning us the title! Most of the costumes & props were hand-made! Really impressive! Check out their winning performance..With the belle of the night!! Miss Dollah!Oops, forgot to take off price tag off my boots :PChio bus, Michelle & Dannie! With sweet li' indian squaw Adeline, our Admin Assistant :)With Georgina & Tom..they both received the 10 years service award that night.Man, I have to wait 7 more years to get it..*awk*The rest of the pics here***************************************The end of the year is drawing near soon! It has been quite a year I must say especially with me having to go to the hospital so many times! I just hope next year would be a peaceful one for us and that my family and loved ones to be healthy and happy! So, to everyone reading....Yes, Aidan drew and colored this :) Can you make out who is behind Spidey?
Aidan is 5 today!!
Problem with being in the promo/events line is that when I have my own non-job related event to plan, I'll try to make sure it ends up being as successful and fun as possible. Occupational hazard I guess! Like what hubby said, the parties I'd done for Aidan seemed more for me than him..But it is always worth it when I see the big smile on his face and the boy telling me how much fun he had (although I'm sure if he just had a big room to run around with his good pals, he'd enjoy himself just as much :P)! The compliments from the other guests also makes it all worth it.I had the entire function room decorated in the High School Musical theme. The party was jammed packed with activities with face-painting & bouncy castle, games for the kids and entertainment in the form of a magician. I think I crammed too much in that 3+ hours that there wasn't even much time for the kids to eat! The hotdog stand was a hit with the adults (even though it was meant for the kids)..at least the children loved the candy floss! I was supposed to be a cheerleader and hub wore his sportsgear! Couldn't find any nice sportsgear for Aidan so I just dressed him up in the red/white colors to match the decor hehe..Some folks had actually asked me why I don't consider doing party-planning for a living but I think I'll probably go mad if I do. Doing it once a year is enough for me!Thanks to all who'd came for the party and all the pressies!!! And wishing all a blessed & joyous Christmas and a fabulous 2008!!Here are many of the pics taken that day (pls bear with me!!)the invite card :)with my 'basketballer' hubby who went along with everything I'd suggestyou guys are fab!! you've never missed a single of Aidan's parties since he was born!! *muaks*3 mommies and a new borne baby - Rileythe kids enjoying the bouncy castle!arts & crafts for the kids gamesgamesloads more games~~the magician in action..a very animated Aidan :)Pretty babes :)Cake time!! Yes, he officially turns 5 today!!!The boy couldn't wait to taste his own cake.He said "I wanna eat Gabriella!" Can Mummy eat Troy please?" Oh man..*face palm*~Best part of the party - seeing the big smile of his face!! All the pics here
party time!!
It is Aidan's birthday party later today :D~His actual birthday is tomorrow but the function rooms at our condo were fully booked and some of the caterers/planners weren't available either. So had no choice but to schedule it for today! Can you imagine that I was rejected by 3 caterers as they were all booked out due to the festive period. Lotsa parties going on man! Actually, I only started planning for the party abt a week plus ago..So tardy of me. To think that I actually work in events & promo! And I actually forgot about his cake!! If Aidan hadn't reminded me on Wednesday, I probably have to settle for an OTC one. I could have used those free time during my MC to plan! Oh well, thought the best option would be to do it at our place..hopefully, it would be less of a hassle. The goody bags all packed :)Christmas pressies all wrapped up!Aidan's birthday pressie!! I always tell the boy how blessed and fortunate he is..he has parents who loves him so much, grandparents who dote on him, lots of pals and pple who care about him. I just want him to grow up well-adjusted and happy!! Happy Birthday my li' one and may your life be always filled with laughter and joy!I was looking at some of the older pics and decided to repost some of them. Most you've seen them on my blog if you've followed it through the years, although I have to admit, I have been raher lax in updating it recently. Oh yes, Aidan is on facebook too (search Aidan Lee) and I've uploaded some old pics and videos of him so go ahead & add him (if you want to).
dancing boy~
The boy sure lurrrves to gelek! Not sure whom he'd inherited that trait from. Actually, both of us enjoy dancing too :)This afternoon at the Power Rangers Show at Junction 8, the little kids were all sitting by the stage awaiting for the show to start. There was some music played over the loud speaker and when the music from High School Musical came on, Aidan's eyes brightened and he immediately stood up and started dancing away. Gabriel, who was with him was hissing at him to sit down, tugging at his shorts several times (I think the poor kid was embarrassed to be next to him) but Aidan ignored him and continued to gelek away merrily much to my amusement.Looks more like a kungfu stance...Showing off their power ranger gadget toy!The red ranger looks as if he's threatening Aidan with that toy! I didn't bring the camera that had the video function so I wasn't able to capture it but here's one of him taken several days ago while he was prancing around in my room :)
:D~~
Jean was commenting while looking at some of my recently uploaded pics at my flickr site that Aidan's looking more grown-up. I was thinking the same thing too and we both kinda agreed that it was probably because of his post-surgery eyes. But I can't exactly pinpoint what exactly about his eyes that is making him look more matured. Not all the stitches have completely dissolved yet. Thankfully, the boy is taking care of his eyes very well. He even got angry with his daddy when YC accidentally kissed his eyes (he was aiming for his cheeks). I don't see him rubbing his eyes anymore..he used to do that very often and it was probably because his in-grown eyelashes were irritating them. I think his eyes have gotten prettier and are more sparkly now! :)*********************My 3 weeks medical leave turned out to be a blessing in disguise (I've used up 2 weeks already). It is very 'timely' because it is Aidan's school holidays now and I spend most of my 'rest-time' planning activities for him. Yes, I'm okay now! Not hurting anymore. The wounds have healed and my anger has subsided. I even went rollerblading yesterday (doctor said I could exercise but not to over-exert).Let's see..what have we done so far. Went down Orchard Road to admire the X'mas deco and take pictures. Brought him to several mall shows - Barney at Marina, Noddy at Forum Galleria, Dora at United Square, watched Bee Movie and The Enchanted and the musical, Mr Scrooge (jodecro, Aidan enjoyed the show as much as the Gingerbread Man! Love your performance!!). He's looking forward to Power Rangers at Junction 8 this week. He also tried rollerblading for the first time too! It's really nice to be able to spend so much time with him..feels like being a SAHM but then again, I'll be back to work soon so this is definitely more enjoyable then if I'm really one :PI've compiled a list for all the shows for easy reference for the other mommies! Won't want to get too much 'snow-soap' in his eyes :D..Loads of pictures as usual~With Aly at Suntec where they'd just finished watching a movieWatching the Dora show at United SquareAt Olio Dome with Jin and her family after church yesterday..Rollerblading at West Coast Park..For those living in the West who are keen on having their kids try out rollerblading and do not want to travel all the way to the East, there are rollerblading workshops for kids at West Coast Park at 3pm & 5pm on Sunday (just next to MacDonalds). I'm sure there are other timings ..you can get more details here. The trial class is free and the gears are provided by them! Will most likely be signing up Aidan for a class!
Aidan's eyelid op..
Aidan's entropion surgery was scheduled for this morning at 11am. I'd tried to postpone it due to the recency of my op plus that hubby is not in town..but Dr Khoo would be away on holiday leave from next week onwards and will only be back mid Dec. Tried to explain to him what the surgery is for and I think he kinda understood when he told me when queried this morning that he's "going for an eye surgery so that there won't be eyeshit in my[his] eye anymore" (although that isn't actually guaranteed!). We had to wake him up at 5am in the morning for his breakfast as he isn't able to have anymore food and liquid from then till 11am.. By 9am, he told us that he was hungry and thirsty already..Thankfully, he accepted our explanation and didn't whine much.He was in a good mood before the surgery..even when he was wheeled into the operating room, he was still so bubbly. Dr Khoo said most children usually get frightened at that stage. He was so pleased when the nurses were telling him how brave and handsome he was. I was to stay in the room till the anesthesia kicked in. Even though this was a relatively safe operation, I still had butterflies in my stomach especially when seeing him lying there on the bed trying to resist the lure of sleep..The op was a success according to Dr Khoo and I could also see that his bottom lashes are now turning out/downwards..His eyes are slightly swollen and bruised but the stitches are not very obvious unless you look closely. The op took about two hours and when he woke up, he started retching and told us that he was in pain..Wanted us to get rid of a 'bad smell' and kept saying that he was hurting so much. He tried to rub his eyes too and we held his arms down to prevent him from doing so. He refused to stay put on the bed and wanted to be carried. Initially, MIL and Nenita took turns to do so (they didn't want me to do so as I was still hurting a li') but he kept turning to me and asking why I didn't want him..Had no choice but to carry him and tried my best to pacify him..and pretty soon, he fell asleep. Hurts so much to see him looking so wretched and miserable. We stayed in the post-recovery room for about 3 hours and was allowed to go after the nurses saw him eat and pee without problem (although he puked on the way out of the hospital). He had a good sleep and when he woke up in the evening, he was much better and was soon his usual active self although the first thing he demanded for was strawberry icecream! Thanks for your prayers and to those who'd smsed me this morning asking about him..Am really relieved that it went okay.Aidan - Post OpMIL said Aidan's eyes look bigger now..I can't really tell the difference though..You can see a close-up of his eyes hereAbsorbable sutures were used so in a few days time, they will dissolve..
...
Thanks for all your words of concern and smses (and Mong, for your yummy ginseng chicken soup too)! Was discharged from the hospital yesterday afternoon. They'd wanted to let me stay one more night for observations but as I'd told them that I was fine and not in any pain anymore, the doctor finally agreed to let me go. But I'm kinda regreting my decision. The pain seemed to be returning but it is still tolerable. My shoulder blade is hurting the most but I understand that the discomfort is caused by the trapping of the carbon dioxide gas under the diaphragm which cause referred pain to the shoulder. The gas was pumped into my abdomen during the laparoscopy to help the doctor better visualise the organs. My tummy now is sooooo bloated like a balloon. I have some pains in my lower abdominal too but they are more bearable. The doctor did mention that the pain should subside within the next few days. Walking about and taking warm showers should help alleviate the pain. Just gotta tahan lah! Anyway, if I'd stayed on in the ward, I would have ended up lying in bed most of the time, requesting for pain injections to relieve my pain. Would rather be at home although having a hyper Aidan (it is the school holidays so he need not go to school) around can be quite challenging. He kept asking why he can't hug me....I have to say that I was very impressed with the treatment and service I received at KK Hospital. It was about 1am when I'd asked hub to bring me to the doctor and since most of the clinics were closed already, he decided to go to KK instead where they had a women's 24 hr clinic. He definitely made the right choice with them. The clinic wasn't crowded with only 2 patients ahead of us. When queried by the nurse about my symptoms (she needed to take notes to give to the doctor), she realised that my condition was quite bad and could tell that I was in a lot of pain so she immediately informed the doctor to check on me asap. And I was then given a series of tests and scans and upon suspecting that it could be ectopic pregnancy, they wanted me to be admitted to the hospital immediately even though the blood test results were only ready in the morning. Okay, I was quite reluctant to be admitted actually because I was sorta in denial...But the doctors were insistent and YC also thought it was safer that way. At 8am in the morning, I was then informed that the blood test returned with high hCG levels and that the op theatre has been prepared for the laparoscopy already. Everything was chop chop and the doctors and nurses provided detailed explanation for everything that they were planning to do. According to the doctor, the op went very well and they managed to cut away the damaged tube, drain away all the excess blood and clear away the debris left in the womb. He gave me the pictures taken taken during the different stage of the op..Not gonna show it here or else it will gross you guys out! Actually, I'm really fortunate because it could have been worse. My left fallopian tube had actually ruptured and yet the bleeding wasn't massive..There were cases where women actually died due to such complications. So I have to consider myself really blessed! Several people had asked me to consider the option of suing my gynae for his misdiagnose. To be honest, my first thoughts when I heard abt the ectopic pregnancy was to do exactly that too. The doctor at KK actually said that my gynae shouldn't have precluded the likelihood of an ectopic pregnancy when there was no conclusive proof that the egg was ever in the uterus based on the info I'd given him. In fact, when I'd visited my gynae, my first concern was whether it was an ectopic pregnancy and he'd said with much conviction that it wasn't then. Oh, I was given a total of 21 days medical leave to recuperate! Fwah, that's a lot of days man! Yes, for all of you who've told me to stay home and rest (playing Texas Hold'em Poker on facebook = resting right?).. I will do so! Have to admit that I was really affected by this..was quite distressed for a while and to be honest, I've never been in so much pain before. Childbirth was such a breeze compared to this. *********************************On Saturday when the abdominal pains started, I actually brought Aidan to watch the Mickey Mouse Magic Show at the Indoor Stadium, together with Mong & Macy. I thought I was behaving quite 'normally' but Mong actually asked me on msn later whether I was fine because she thought I wasn't acting my usual self. I was probably less hyper because I was trying so hard to not let the pain mar my enjoyment of this awesome show..Fortunately, the pain only got worser when I reached home or else Mong and the kids would have freaked out :PYeah, am showing happy pictures taken at the show because I need to cheer myself up too! Must have positive thoughts so that I can heal faster!
not again...
I didn't know whether to laugh or to cry when I saw the positive pregnancy kit..But no, don't congratulate me yet. What the test meant was..the D&C op I did 3 weeks ago wasn't necessary in the first place. I actually had an ectopic pregnancy. On Saturday morning, I woke up with some lower abdominal cramps..The pain was manageable and I didn't think much of it, hoping that it will go away after popping some painkillers. But by night time, the sharp and stabbing pain had intensified so much that I couldn't walk properly and hub promptly took me to the hospital.I was given a pregnancy test, a blood test and went through several scans and it was then discovered that i had an ectopic pregnancy - which meant that fertilised egg has developed outside my uterus, and in my left fallopian tube instead. The tube wasn't able to accommodate the growing egg and thus had ruptured causing internal bleeding. So I had a laparoscopic operation done where parts of my left fallopian tube was removed in order to clear the 'mess'.i was in so much pain after the operation..much worse than the cramps that I was getting. The doctor explained that they had to clear up a lot of blood in my womb. The oral medication they gave me didn't make me feel any better so they injected me with a stronger dose of painkillers. Thankfully it worked and I managed to get a lot of zzz which explains why I'm up and much awake at this hour!Initially, I was very mad..didn't understand why the ectopic pregnancy wasn't discovered by my gynae at Raffles Hospital earlier! But the doctor at KK explained that some cases of etcopic pregnancy was hard to determine due to the size of the sac and a scan may not detect it. Also, the test that had confirmed my 'pregnancy' was the blood test which was to check the hormones level. Surprisingly at Raffles, I was only a '730.8' whereas my test came out as '17000' at KK. The levels actually rose so high in a mere 3 weeks. I'm okay now..just feeling a li' numb. Hub brought the laptop to the hospital so that I could blog or play poker on facebook when i'm bored. I have tons of work to be done at work and I feel so guilty to have to be away especially since I was already on a week's medical leave the previous time. I hope to be discharged soon. The chances of a repeat ectopic pregnancy is apparently quite high and to be honest, I'll rather not take the risk of having another child. I know I'm quite lucky 'coz there were cases where the rupture of the organ in an ectopic pregnancy had led to much loss of blood and endangering the lives of the patients. In my case, it was strange because i didn't show any signs of bleeding externally. in fact, my bleeding after the D&C op just stopped a mere 2 days ago.Still can't believe I had to undergo two ops for the same pregnancy! Arghhh!
:P
Left : Taken in 2006 , Right : Taken in 2007At least Aidan's better at posing for pictures now! But the boy has actually lost some weight in the past year. Look at how sharp his chin is now. And it's not that he hasn't been eating! He has a voracious appetite and can eat more than some adults at times. Guess he is just using up more energy since he is more active now...********************************* I wasn't around as I was at work. This apparently transpired when the kids were over at my place on Thursday, after their swimming lessons. Alison had been there since morning and when I checked on them at noon, they were apparently playing very well together. But this was what June & her hub, Gordon told me they'd witnessed in the afternoon.Scene 1 :June had passed to Alison a pack of fairy stickers.Aidan : Can I have some of your stickers?Alison : No! Aidan walked off in a huffScene 2 :Nenita was giving out icecream. There was only one with strawberry flavour!Alison : I like strawberry icecream!Aidan : Me too! He then quickly grabbed that coveted icecream and ran upstairs, much to Alison's dismay.Nicholas (his schoolmate who is also taking swimming with them) : I like strawberry icecream tooAidan : Okay, we share! Alison looking on angrily at the boys sharing the icecream. Scene 3 :She then confronted Aidan.Alison : I'm so not going to your birthday party!!Aidan : And I'm not inviting you!Aidan then ran off, making Alison even more mad!I was totally flabberghasted when I heard about this from June. Nenita had told me that the kids got along swimmingly well that day and this apparently took place when she was preparing dinner so she wasn't aware. I still can't believe that Aidan actually spoke back to Alison that way! He's usually so easy going! And the two of them were so 'lovey-dovey' in the earlier part of the day. *shakehead* Kids!Aidan & Alison, during happier times :p
:)
Had a rather good break from work and blogging. My mini-holiday started from Deepavali. I'd booked ourselves into Rasa Sentosa for 3 nites and the whole family had a fab time there. Aidan is now very bronzed :) And as I wanted to attend Aidan's school concert on Tuesday, I decided what the heck, why not take leave on Monday as well so that I could have a super long weekend. Now I have to psych myself to get back into work mode! The concert was held at Singapore Polytechnic and it was more of a graduation ceremony for the K2 kids at Aidan's kindergarten. The K2 kids were all clad in their graduation gown with tiny mortarboards on their heads..all so cute yet so serious and with all their parents looking on with much pride. I cant help but start thinking of next year when it will be Aidan's turn and just how fast my boy is growing up. Aidan's [$30] costume was this neon green tie-shirt with little sparkles pasted on it and white pants! It looks kinda retro actually and sorta like those getai singers/dancer's costumes. But I have to say he looks darn cute in it albeit slightly girly. When we were at Ghim Moh hawker centre having lunch after the concert, there were a few strangers coming up to him commenting on how 'pretty' he was and asking me about his gender..*sigh*Hub took a video of the dance with his handphone..He said the music sounds like a communist song..I think they placed the 2 most active kids up in front :PI went crazy taking pics again so.....2 Aidans together! With Say Kiong (my colleague) and his son, Max.If you look at his eyes, you can see his upturned bottom eyelashes. Have scheduled his eye operation for the 23 Nov..************************I've always enjoyed Sentosa..and thankfully, even though I was there on a public holiday, it wasn't as crowded as I thought it would be..But one thing that really leaves much to be desired..the service! Not just in the hotel..the attitude of the service staff in general really sucks! Bad, bad, bad! I think it is gonna be worse when the IR is ready and the whole island will be packed to the max!We went for some of the newer attractions like the 4D Magix which was quite good. But you know, in places like Disneyland or Universal Studios, the 'presenter' of the show will always be this chirpy young lady or guy..but at the 4D Magix, they had this erm, oldish Malay man who spoke so monotanously. I think he was the technician guy doubling up as the 'presenter'. And outside the theatre, there were young chaps employed to give out brochures of the attraction and I thought one of them could be better utilised as the 'host'.Aidan was at the pool everyday and he had a whale of a time..The boy could make friends so easily! Each day, he'll tell me about the new friends he met and how much fun he had. He's really such a sociable li' boy! He was also thrilled when his pals, Gabriel & Ryan came by on Friday too!
