What If You Were Flight of the Conchords? I first heard of Flight of the Conchords (FOTC) through the ladies at Mamapop, when they were raving about how hilarious it was. My curiosity got the better of me and I checked them out. Those ladies were right! The guys were so damn hilarious! Check this out:So I'm really glad that they're bringing this show here.Anyway, thanks Yinqi for tagging me for FOTC 201. Here are my answers.Ep 1: Jemaine attends Dave’s party and scores a date with a hot chick, only to realise she’s Bret’s ex. Would you go out with your best friend’s ex?If there is attraction between the parties, why not, but not immediately after the break up, of course. That would not only be rude but insensitive. Maybe after months and months after the split (and if the split wasn't bad), the friend is paired off with someone else, I would go for it.Ep 2: Faced with the prospect of a dwindling cashflow, Bret is forced to hold signs (“Hot Dogs”) at a busy NYC street corner. What was your worst temp job experience?I've only had one temp job before and that was being a relief teacher. It was terrible, at least for me. I don't have much patience and dealing with juvenile delinquents, you need a mountain of patience that I just don't have. My students were so bad that they made me cry. It didn't help that I was only 5 years older than them. The whole experience made me not want to be a teacher at all, much to the disappointment of my mother. I just cannot handle spending such long hours with kids like that.Ep 3: Bret loses Jemaine’s trust after Bret abandons him when they get mugged. Would you leave your best friend in the lurch when confronted by parang-wielding Ah Bengs?I want to say that I'll fight them back but most probably, I'll be screaming my lungs out and running for my life, dragging my friend away if I have to. When your survival instincts kick in, between fight or flight, I think most of us will run. There's nothing wrong in that, as long as you're not leaving someone in danger. Then that would be bad. What about you? What would your answers to the questions be?Here's a bonus for you FOTC and LoTR fans (there's got to be some out there other than me, right?), here's something interesting the ladies of Mamapop found. Enjoy.Technorati Tags: HBO, Flight of the Chonchords New Moon WARNING: SPOILERS AHEAD. READ AT OWN RISK.New Moon is the second book in the Twilight series by Stephanie Meyer. I've sort of talked about the first book in the series, Twilight, in a previous post. I started on the second book but only managed a chapter before I got distracted by something else. So it's been sitting on a pile of books, among other piles of books, gathering dust for the past months. Then I realised that the movie based on the first book will be out in November and I have yet to finish the series. On top of that, reading that other bloggers are also reading the series, rekindled my interest in the book.I just finished it a few days back and I have mixed feelings about this book. Some parts are brilliant, the way she describes the heart break that Bella felt when Edward left, the hole in her chest and the zombie-like life that she had been living. The sadness made me cry and it was embarrassing to be tearing up over a young adult novel in a public transport. However, when she starts bandying about phrases like "truest love", "I will die without you" and "I don't want to live in a world where you don't exist", it starts to sound like cheesy Mary Sue-ish fan fiction. Trust me, I've read (and written) a lot of those in the past few years my time, so I know what I'm talking about. Overall, it's not a bad book. I can see how the deep love/bond between the main characters would appeal to the female fans, young and mature alike. I did enjoy the book despite the cheesy parts. Although, unlike other books of the same genre, I couldn't get into it as easily. I'm easily distracted but then, my attention span isn't as long as it used to be. In a recent trip to the book store, I got the other two books in the series; Eclipse and Breaking Dawn. I had to finish reading the series since I already have the first two books. I had to find out what happened, though I did read the spoilers at Wikipedia. So anyway, long story short, I don't hate the book. I read the book so that I that I know what to expect in the movies and also see how much they changed the book content. I might read something else first before going on to the third book in the series.I leave you now with the trailer for the movie Twilight.Technorati Tags: New Moon, Stephanie Meyer, Twilight Movie Alas, It Has Finally Happened My phone has lived up to its reputation by ending up in the service centre for repairs. Almost everyone I know who have been using the same phone, have experienced the same problem; a faulty touch screen and a wonky toggle button. The problem started last night but I thought it would be all good in the morning. Unfortunately, the problem persisted so I have no choice but to send it in for repairs. When they asked if I was interested in getting the extended warranty, I immediately said yes. From the experiences of my colleagues, the phone seems to have recurring problems and having the warranty would then be a great idea. This is not to say that I don't like this phone because I do. It takes nice pictures and rather use friendly. I just hate that it gives problems at the most inopportune time. Popping My SMB Cherry After missing out on the first two Social Media Breakfast events, I was determined not to miss out on the third one even though I was still coughing badly. Besides, SMB3 was held at the Asian Civilisations Museum. How could I say no?When I got to the venue, there were already a number of people mingling and getting to know each other. I saw some familiar faces like Nicole, DK, Claudia and the guys from Tech65; Daniel, NTT, Jerrick and Farinelli. There were more than few new faces too. I got to meet wonderful new people like Yuhui, Cullen and Ssumin. It was also nice to finally put a face to the people I've been Plurking with; Clauds and sm7catscan.The agenda for the day was Blogger Outreach. I'm sure we were supposed to discuss how a company would and should go about doing that, I think that by bring all the bloggers, ad and PR companies together in an event such as this, is the first step. The next step is up to the companies I guess. Pat Law wrote an awesome post on how to pitch to the bloggers.Overall, I thought it was an interesting experience. Some of the discussions went over my head but then, I'm not in the marketing/business line, so I wouldn't really understand. I had a good time though, meeting new people and going to the museum. Too bad, by end of the event, I was breathless and weak from the coughing that I couldn't go around the museum to look at the exhibits. Kudos to Daryl for organising the event. I hope I get to attend the next SMB.Technorati Tags: Singapore, Social Media Breakfast Sick It's been a long time since I've been this sick. I have everything but the fever. The worst thing, for me personally, is the cough. I hate the scratchy feeling in the throat that I can't get rid off. It'll itch to the point where you have no choice but to cough until you either throw up or need to sit down from being light-headed. Even the cough syrup is horrendous. It's supposed to be sarsaparilla flavour but it just tastes too horrible to describe. The only good thing about being this sick is that, not only do I get 2 days of medical leave, I get me some happy pills! You know, those flu meds that make you drowsy? Even though it's a twice daily dosage, it's enough to make me woozy for most of the day.Yesterday, the lack of sleep the night before coupled with the flu med, made me sleep most of the day away. Today isn't so bad since it's already afternoon and I don't feel the urge to crash. Yet. So to make full use of the day, I'm going to park my butt in front of the TV and watch some Olympic games.Technorati Tags: Life FAST easySafe: A Sponsored Review Have you ever had data that you don't want other to get their hands on? Wouldn't it be great to have something that can lock or encrypt your data? Something that only you have access to and even if they did get their hands on your computer, they can't get to the data? Being in the research field, sometimes there are certain things that you are not ready to share with your peers about your findings, especially if it's something huge and you don't want anyone else to publish it before you do and then,, effectively pulling the rug from under your feet. Well now you can with the FAST easySafe. The FAST easySafe is dual-factor solution, where you need both a physical 'key', which is basically a USB plug in and a pin to create an encrypted virtual drive, that you can set it yourself. You can even set a limit to the size of the drive too. Isn't that neat? The easySafe comes in either a 1 pack or a 2 pack. For the 2 pack, you can either give one of the keys to your research partner or assistant so that they can update the virtual drive with the latest results, or just use it as a spare key, just in case anything happens to the first key. This is a very interesting product because not only can you use it on the job but also at home because everyone has something to hide and this seems like the perfect and easy solution.Take a look at how easy it is to install: So the Fast easy Safe is virtually idiot proof, so that even the most inexperience user can use it.So what are you waiting for? Photo by HorEvery National Day, all my aunts and cousins would gather at my house for a feasting get together and watch the parade on TV. I think that's just an excuse for use to binge on good food and gossip. This year was different as my aunts took my grandmother for a holiday over the National Day weekend and most of my cousins were busy. However, we still managed to get a cousin or two, along with their families, to come over for a get together. Besides I was itching to try out some recipes anyway. We had a feast that included hummus, moutabel and gnocchi. My cousins even brought macaroni pie, so there was a lot of food to go around. Half of the dip was gone not fifteen minutes into the parade. That was a definitely good sign that my cooking passed everyone's expectation.Anyway, other than the food, I realised that when we said that we wanted to watch the parade, we really just watched the parade. That means that the moment the contingents marched passed and out of the area, we all stopped paying attention to the tv. I didn't find the after parade stuff all that interesting, not even the fireworks. Maybe I'm just disillusioned by it all or just that I outgrew it. What ever it is, I enjoyed the parade portion of the show. Nothing like a whole field of men in uniform to get my attention. How did you spend you National Day holiday?Technorati Tags: Life How Do You Blog? There are so many different blogging styles and the different things that people blog about; the tech stuff, recipes, life in general and politics. Lately, I've read a few blogs that have very insightful, posts with such deep meaning that it goes way above my head and what I term as 'normal' posts, the ones that are light and fluffy, full of hilarious anecdotes and snark. I love me a good snark. All of this made me think, why can't I write like that? Why can't I be all deep and thoughtful? I tried to do it but it only lasts for five minutes because after five minutes of deep pondering, my brain screamed for fun, joy, laughter and silly things. That's how my brain is I guess. It's full of fluff and fantasy, extremely vivid imagination and loads of silly, useless things. This is not to say that I can't be all deep and thoughtful when I have to be, I can, it's just that I can never find the words to express what I feel without sounding pompous or incoherent or both, so why try when other people can do it so much better than I can?My blogging style is simple. I have verbal diarrhoea (thank God for spell check because I can never spell that word correctly). On top of that, I seem to have the gift for non sequitur, so the flow of things jump around a lot. Also, I can't for the life of me spell/type correctly and don't start on my grammatical errors. In short, I don't re-read what I type because I think it takes too long. Personally, I think my internal editor disappears for most of the year and only comes back when in November when I'm doing NaNoWriMo, that bastard. Anyway, I talk about the normal things like movies (which I don't review because that's just useless), the music I like (which I normally just embed videos. I heart YouTube) and food (which being Singaporean, is a must). Simple stuff really since I'm a simple person at heart, though I've been told that I'm complicated but I digress. So, in keeping with my bogging style and also to celebrate my 500th post (yup, this is the 500th post. YAY!), I present to you my latest online purchase: a dress! Yes, I do wear dresses, not often but I do wear them. Studiofrost had some really pretty dresses that I couldn't say no to. I know that the colour is a little boring, being black and all, but I'm not fashionista so I always get colours that are easy to match. The material is soft and flowy, making it very comfortable. It looks a little crumpled since it just came out of the package. So what do you think? Isn't it pretty?I might have to pay closer attention to the updates that they have (I'm on the mailing list). I can't wait to wear the dress out.P.S This has got to be the longest post I've ever done that doesn't involve lists.P.P.S If you see any spelling/grammatical errors, it's because I'm just too lazy to fix it. Actually, I'm just too lazy to re-read the post.P.P.P.S This really is a long post.Technorati Tags: Life, Blogging Lunch And A Show I discovered a very wonderful thing about my iPod, I can play videos on it! Ok, so I knew all along but I just never fully utilised it that way. Henry (yes, I named my iPod. Have a problem with that?) has always been, primarily, a music player and sometimes as a HDD when I'm in a bind. While I was going through my extrenal HDD at home, I realised that I had a number of videos that I knew that I will never watch when I'm at home, so why don't I transfer it into Henry so that I can watch it on the go.I tried that yesterday and managed to watch half of the first episode of Jekyll on train before my battery went flat. So today, being the smart person that I am, I brought the cable with me and an adaptor so that I can watch the episodes and charge Henry at the same time. So I had lunch at my desk while watching the rest of the episode. Aren't I smart?I had mushroom soup and some garlic bread for lunch, by the way. It was good too. I think I can make this into a lunch time thing; have a light lunch and catch a show at the same time.Technorati Tags: Life], TV (Not Really) Back To Back Movies: Mummy 3 & The X-Files: I Want To Believe Another weekend, more movie watched. That's pretty much my life these days; movies, TV shows, DVDs. This week, I watched Mummy 3: Tomb of The Dragon Emperor and X-Files: I Want To Believe. What I like About Mummy 3:1. Brendan Fraser2. Brendan Fraser3. Brendan FraserWhat I like about The X-Files: I Want To Believe1. Fox Mulder & Dana Scully2. Mulder & Scully kissing Ok, so no kissing in this shot but they will! It warms my heart to see them together. To tell you the truth, both movies were just... meh. They didn't made me go, "Wow! That was a great movie! I'll definitely get the video when it's out." It's been a while since I've thought that about a movie. Howevere, I was mildly entertained by them. Maybe I've overdosed myself with movies after all the back to back DVD watching I've been doing these past few weeks. Naaaah! I don't think so.Anyway, I leave you now with a trailer for the new Bond movie, Quantum of Solace, coming to a theatre near you in November (Daniel Craig shirtless hotness at 1:35).Technorati Tags: Movies, Video Kissing Zac Efron I've been watching too much Buffy. Seriously, I have. One the day that I decide to take a break and watching something else, a short glance at the new HMS3 poster, gave me a strange dream. Maybe it was inspired by that Buffy musical episode, Once More With Feeling, because I dreamt that the whole cast of HMS, minus Gabriella, were singing and dancing in the cemetery not unlike the one in Buffy. After much singing and dancing, I made out with Zac Efron.I wouldn't say that it was a bad dream, just weird. Sure, he's cute but he's also very young. Maybe I need to stop watching TV for a while.Technorati Tags: Life, Dreams Back To Back Movies:The Dark Knight & HellboyII I never understood the reason for having professional movie critics because the whole movie watching experience is subjective. You either like if or you don't. Not all of us care about how the movie was shot, or the technical aspects of the movie. To me, movie watching is not just about the story but the feelings, the characters and the whole experience of it. So anyway, I did another back to back movie thing on Saturday. It would have been a trio of movies if Mummy 3 was already released. I was feeling a little movie-d out by end of the day. I have yet to make up my mind about the movies but here's what I like: The Dark Knight1. Christian Bale - His presence is enough to make me want to watch it. 2. The Tumbler bursting forth the bike thing.3. Billowing cape4. Brooding hero5. The Joker was definitely creepy. Awesome, but creepy at the same time. Hellboy II1. Hellboy himself. That dude's funny.2. Abe sapien falling in love, getting drunk. He's so adorable, even though is all blue-green and kinda fish-like.3. Magic 4. Elves5. Funny lines6. Selma Blair looks good in the short hair do.Overall, it wasn't a bad day. I would have been tremendously better if it wasn't for the irritating people in the show. The two kids sitting in the row in front of mine could not sit still or even shut up. Their mum was sleeping, SLEEPING IN THE THEATRE WHEN CHRISTIAN BALE WAS ON SCREEN. The nerve of her to not pay attention to his hawtness. If I'd been in the same row, I would have already told them to shut the fuck up, like I told the kid when I was watching HP & the Prisoner of Azkaban, but that's another story. The couple sitting beside me didn't make it enjoyable either, with all the munching of the popcorn, the rustling of the plastic bag and the talking, OMG, the talking. It's a good thing they shut up just as I was about to turn to tell them to keep quiet. There would have been blood if they didn't. I take my movie watching very seriously. Next double movie outing for me would be the X-Files movie and Mummy 3. Maybe. I guess. Why I Think People Are Stupid Haven't you ever stood there, stared at the meatsacks and thought, "Hmmm, those are some moronic bastards." I've done more often now that I used to, since I'm actually more often than not, allergic to stupidity. People are greedy and rude. They have no common sense what so ever. They're totally inconsiderate. They fucking jaywalk when there's a perfectly good zebra crossing a few feet a way. They step on your foot, didn't apologise and even had the gall to glare at you like it's all  your fault that your foot was under theirs. Then, there's the shoving and pushing in the public transport. Also, I think chivalry is dead. As in, not coming back ever. Extinct because, what kind of person doesn't help you to open the door (especially seeing that the door is those access card types) when your hands are full. On top of that, you don't laugh at people when they trip/fall. Some help would be nice, especially if broken eggs are involved. People with multiple degrees aren't always smart either. Leaving untrained people to do the stuff that you're supposed to be teaching them is such a big no-no. Especially if it's something practical and the only 'training' that was given was just giving them the protocol and explaining the steps without showing them. Seriously, if it involves using a machine costing hundred thousands of dollars, I expect you to be fucking there and watching them with hawk eyes while they do it. Who the fuck is going to pay for the damage if they fuck up? I hate, HATE stupid people.(Of course, I've been known to do some stupid things too but hey, I work on not doing it again. Can those other people say the same?) Pros & Cons Of The Sister Being Overseas 1. I get to lie on her bed, mess it up and there won't be any screaming that follows it.2. Her bed has now become the repository for my junk (i.e pants, DVDs).3. I get to watch my DVDs as late (or early) and as loud as I want. 4. No more loud argument-like conversations on the phone.5. There's no one there for me to disturb (or disturb me).6. No funny conversations with loads of movie reference quotes.7. No one to make shepherd's pie for me. 8. No one to argue with me for the DVD not to watch. There's only so much Harry Potter I can watch in a week.9. No one to argue over clothes.10. No one to argue over who's going to make drinks during dinner. OK, so the list is a little wonky since I can't decide of it's going to be a pro or a con but that's just it. I might hate the arguing and all that but at the same time, it's fun. I miss her. Obsession Almost Complete If you've seen the way I watch DVDs, you'll realise how obsessive I am with series and box sets. When I like a series, I'll go out of my way to collect it all. What started as a mild crush on David Boreanaz ended up with me reliving my love for Buffy the Vampire Slayer series. In fact, it was the entire Buffyverse. My collection is now complete! Feast your eyes on it:Buffy Seasons 1-7Angel Seasons 1-5The one that started it all, the original.Actually, it's not really right to say that my collection is complete as season 8 of Buffy and season 6 of Angel are continued as graphic novels. Currently, I only have Volume one of Buffy S8 and I know that volume 2 is now out at Kinokuniya. Guess what I'm going to do the next time I'm at the book store?Technorati Tags: TV Time Changes Everything An errand after work took me through the my neighbourhood's shop are and I never realised how much it's changed. It's been a long while since I've been there. I could barely recognised it. When I saw new shops opened in the place of old ones, I felt a pang of loss. The old baker's place and the hair salon are gone and in their place, some bubble tea place and a shop that I have no idea what it sells, respectively. I think it could be an MLM kind of outlet. The vegetable and fish shop that my grandma used to do her bi-weekly grocery shopping is gone too. The shop's closed and I don't know if there is even going to be a new shop took take it's place. The only constants that I saw were the clinic that I went to as a child, the mom and pop store next to the clinic and the Chinese medicine shop nearby. Everything else is so different. I had Black Sabbath's Lonely Is The Word playing in the iPod and it seemed to reflect what I was seeing. The whole area felt lonely and sad.The song is so sad isn't it?As I passed the apartment blocks, they were definitely different from when I was growing up. Sure the coat of paint was new but so were the new elevators at every landing. While the lift upgrading was a good change, it was still change nonetheless. One of the biggest changes in my neighbourhood was the primary school nearby, moving out to a new site. No more early morning wake up calls by the principal/vice principal who screamed into the microphone to get the children's attention, no more screaming children during recess time and no more children singing the National Anthem out of tune and mispronouncing the lyrics. I hate all that but you kind of miss it when it's not there any more. The school building looks decrepit and creepy now, without all the people in side. Sigh. When I reached my block, I saw children running around bare feet, being all sweaty, smelly and being, well, kids. I remember being one of those kids (except for the smelly part, of course and even if I was, I wouldn't admit it) running around like that. Seeing them put a smile on my face because it showed me that even with all the changes going around in my life, at least some things will remain the same. Kids will always be kids, playing and running and actually enjoying their childhood. I hope. What are the changes in your neighbourhood and how do you feel about them?Technorati Tags: Life, Video Family Barbecue Fun After the previous barbecue I had, I was itching to have another one so I got myself a portable barbecue pit thing. After much discussions with my mum, we decided to have a little family barbecue. We had the requisite chicken drumlets and satay. On top of that, we had prawn, fish balls and nice, plump marshmallows too. It was great! The prawns were awesome because there were freshly caught yesterday and my dad bought it straight from the fisherman. Marinated in just sesame oil and garlic, it tasted so good.Since I had so much fun with it today, I'm definitely going to be doing this again some time soon. Sorry for the lack of photos. I was having too much fun cooking. Picnicking With Friends Even though my mum said that I've been to Haw Par Villa before, I have no recollection of it seeing that I went when I wasn't even in school yet. When the opportunity came up to spend a day out with friends at Haw Par Villa, how can I pass it up?Much fun was has by everyone, I think. There was so much food that we had to play Indian Poker, where the loser had to eat a curry puff/cake. Poor Chillycraps, I think he ate almost all the puffs. He gave up the game when we moved on to the pandan cake. Too bad, because the cake was wonderful.I'd brought my three decks of Snap cards but no one wanted to play with me after the first round. It's not my fault that I won. I just happened to have more practice in the game is all. Sore losers! Then we did what we came to do; be all touristy and took pictures of/with the statues.Cool gate at the entrance. If this was a horror movie, it'll be a B-grade one for all the gratuitous topless females. The first word that came to mind when I saw this was, SLUTS!>I like dragons and to have a whole wall full of them was just awesome.I had a really great time with at the picnic with rinaz, chillycraps, dk, xizor, mr & mrs malique, endoh, arzhou and nicole. Maybe we could do this again some time.Technorati tag:Life, Singapore On Your Own When my sister got accepted to the University of Queensland, my parents wanted me to go over with her and help smooth her transition into the life of an international student. They even offered to pay for my accommodation and flight but I refused to go. Personally, I didn't think it was fair since I had to muddle through it on my own, with no help from anyone. Ok, that's just me being bitter but I do have a very good reason for not going even though it could have been an all expenses paid holiday thing. I think that by going there all by herself, she'll be able to build her confidence and learn to be more independent. You learn to figure things out on your own, how to get your own groceries, how to budget for said groceries, how to get around the city and even make friends. I think that she'll be able to do it well since she's much more of a people person that I am. On the first day itself, she was already out buying groceries and getting a prepaid SIM card for her phone. So yeah, I think she'll be able to cope well. The first few weeks aren't going to be easy but hey, she'll come out stronger. We Don't Need No Guys! In a lab of eleven people, we only have one guy, not including the two male bosses. We might as well have no guy in the lab since he doesn't do anything. It's just us girls carrying the heavy equipment, all the heavy lift; basically everything in the lab is done by us.So when we had the farewell barbecue for the boss, it wasn't a surprise two see three girls at the pit, with their hands dirty from handling the charcoal (no tongs yet) and lighting the fire. In fact, I think we did a better job than any other guys could. So yeah, we don't need no guys.Sidenote: I think it's a real trend to have more females than males in the research field.Technorati Tags: Life Does This Make My Ass Look Fat? I've been underweight almost all of my life. I was a scrawny kid growing up and all the way to my early twenties. I was so thin that my hip bones were quite prominent and I had people asking me if I had an eating disorder, which I don't. If you've seen me scarf down a pizza, you wouldn't think that I had an eating disorder. Things started to change when I started going to the gym. I put on a little weight and I was actually happy for a while. When I discontinued my gym membership (because dude, that was one expensive gym) I started to gain more weight and I lost most of my muscle definition (and then the flab started to creep in). I gained a little more weight and actually reached my ideal weight recently, which was kind of cool. Then, after being a Small for all my life, going up to a Medium made me feel fat. I look at my arms and the muscles aren't as defined and my belly isn't as flat as it used to be. When I look at my old, skinny photos, I feel fat and unhappy when I know I shouldn't. I'm healthy (sort of if you discount the elevated cholesterol level but that one, I blame the medication), I'm going to the gym as frequently as I can, my clothes fit better and I even have some cleavage now. I can do a few push ups and even a pull up, which is more than what some men out there can do. So why do I feel like I should lose weight? Morbid Much? One of the main reasons why I keep an offline journal is just so that I can put my darker thoughts some place else, so that the loved ones reading this blog wouldn't be affected. Then a thought occurred to me. What if, after putting down all my deepest, darkest secrets, I die and my loved ones find my journal. Would it hurt them? Would they think differently of me? How would it affect their lives after knowing what I think of them/situation/the thing's I keep secret from them?So then of course I started to censor what I write in there. Somethings are better left untold.Man, I have issues.Technorati Tags: Life Things I Want To Do On Every Sunday 1. Waking up late to the sound of the rain falling.2. I'm a big fan of her work and to get the chance to not only watch her new stuff but also to meet her, I was totally over the moon. While I was chatting with some of the another attendees, she came in and we got introduced. I was told later that I squealed when she was introduced to us. I got to shake her hand! OMG I even got to take peekchers with her!! I think I might have even hyperventilated.I've got to say, it was one of the best times I've had in a while. So thanks Rinaz for inviting me to the preview. I had a relaly great time.So I leave you here with the video of her advert for MCYS.Technorati Tags: Life, Video A Day At The Movies I love movies. I used to go to the cinema almost every week but that was way back when I had more time. So now days, when the opportunity arises, I try to squeeze in as many movies as I can in what ever free time I have. It also helps that I like going to the movies by myself. On Sunday, I decided to do something crazy and bought tickets for back to back movies; Kungfu Panda and The Incredible Hulk. There are already so many reviews out there for these two movies so I won't do one. What I will say is that I enjoyed them very much.Kungfu Panda made me laugh until I had tears streaming down my face. The panda was cute and he looked so cuddly. If I was to have a panda for a pet (That would be in a perfect of course. A world where there's no war, there are no extinct animals and pandas are pets), the panda would be just like Po. That flabby tummy is so huggable.I didn't watch the other Hulk movie, the one with Eric Bana in it so I don't really have anything to compare it with. I think the main reason I went to watch it was because Edward Norton was in it and it didn't disappoint me at all. I love anything with Edward Norton in it, especially when he's buff and shirtless in majority of the movie. I just wish that I get to do this more often. It was good fun.Technorati Tags: Movies Things I Don't Like In My Food 1. Bean SproutsI hate having to sift through my noodles, only to find that there are more bean sprouts than noodles. I feel damn cheated. On top of that, the bean sprouts are always raw. I absolutely hate the taste of raw bean sprouts.2. Frozen Mixed VegetablesI hate, hate, HATE these things. I don't mind the corn but the peas and the carrots... *shudders*3. PeasSeriously, the fresh frozen ones taste nasty to me. The only ones that I would eat are the canned ones. Yes, yes, I'm weird like that.4. Carrots The only kind of carrots that I will eat are the carrots that are cooked in curry and are all mushy. 5. Processed cheeseFake cheese. 'Nuff said. What are the stuff you don't like in your food and why?Technorati Tags: Miscellaneous Look What I Bought I've been wanting to try this for a while now. They are Teh Prettiest! Ok, so my sister put the fake lashes on for me butbutbut, I will learn to put it on by myself. And then, I will be pretty, oh so pretty!Technorati Tags: Life What I Learnt Today 1. I can actually drive rather well if I don't panic.2. There are a lot less jay walkers at the Chua Chu Kang area than in Bukit Batok.3. Driving in the rain isn't so bad since everyone goes slower than they normally would.4. I didn't realise how much the work place has changed since the last time the ex-colleague was here.5. I can't recognise the new ringtone on the mobile.6. I've lost fat but gained muscles and I actually have somewhat good definition in the arm.7. I have an internet addiction.8. Coffee doesn't give me a high like it used too.9. Studying for the FTT puts me to sleep.10. I have absolute love for Adam Levine.Technorati Tags: Life, Video If I Was A Vampire I would be exactly like Angelus, you know, the evil side of Angel from Buffy. He's all evil, merciless and his love for pain and torture, man, I could do all that. Especially seeing that you wouldn't have a soul or a conscience, it would be oh so easy to rip someone's arm off and beat them to death with it. Sure, I'm a little bloodthirsty but then, who isn't? Take a look at the video and I dare you to tell me that his evil side isn't hot and sexy.Technorati Tags: Video As Seen On TV I used to be a TV addict. Now, I don't watch as much TV any more but what I do watch, I watch obsessively.1. CSI: Crime Scene Investigations - My original obsession. The reason I took the forensic science module in college. As much as I love watching this show, the lab scenes always make me shout at the tv, "That's not how you take off your gloves!" or "Gah! Tie up your hair dammit! It's going to contaminate the evidence!" or "Did no one teach them how to use the pipette properly?!"2. CSI: Miami - Cheesy, flashy and wrinkly, hot men. A lot of people don't like this spin-off from the original but I think it has character with all the cheesiness. I find the little quirks that Horatio does, are very endearing. I also find him hot.3. CSI: NY - The darkest of the three CSI series. I love that it's gory, bloody and very, very messy. Interesting cases too. And Don Flack is hot.4. Supernatural - Dean! Dean! Dean! That is all the reason I need.5. House M.D. - Snappy, snarky dialogue. Watching this makes me a little paranoid but if I was ever struck by a mysterious, almost fatal illness, I want House to be my doctor. Also, Hugh Laurie is hot.6. Bones - It satisfies all my geeky, nerdy side. Between the books and the show, I prefer the show for the funny, snappy dialogue, interesting characters and the science. David Boreanaz is hot.As you can see, the criteria for the TV shows are very simple: somewhat science based or with supernatural tangent, and hot men. What do you watch on TV and why?Technorati Tags: TV
