For he is a LOSER
I despise this loser.I can't escape the fate that everyone in this family got to get drag into a shithole.Sometimes, I do manage to get up for a wash but soon after a nice wash, I was being pushed in again. When I was not born, there's only 1 woman in this shithole. After he had his offsprings, 3 poor child got down. After I got my child, she too failed to escape this fate. No matter how hard I try not to let this happen, it still happen. The only way I can save everyone out is the push-us-down person leaves this world. I think, I failed to enjoy a freewill and adventurous teens.I failed to got my way and hands on the way I want to look after my daughter.I failed to study or work properly under the kind of once-in-a-blue-moon crazy riots at home.I failed to save anyone out because people don't dare to hold my outstretched hand.He despise us because we are women.
Kitty's first school trip
Date: 22/8/08 FridaySchool: The Enrichment HubTheme this term: Under the seaTrip venue: Pink Dolphin Lagoon and Underwater WorldParents and Guardians going: My mum, sister, Ben and IIt's a good deal at S$18/adult and S$16/child to visit the places and transportation provided. We gathered at Yew Tee CC where her classroom was. When we waited in the classroom, Kitty started calling her classmates's names like Joshua, Heidi and Pradeepa. We were so stunned that she actually remembered their names and interacted with them. She sat with Joshua, a cute boy with nice round eyes, both of them played his toy cars. Joshua showed off his cars to Ben and he baby-talked to Ben...Hahaha.Brenda said our future son-in-law must built good relation with father-in-law mah. Lol.On the coach to Sentosa.Glaring sunlight at the sandy beach.I felt that the pink dolphins' performance was really so-so only...and the seats were quite a distance away from the sea. Only interacting with the dolphin can wow me but that will cost like $150.Kitty was so eager to see the dolphins that she just couldn't sit down while waiting for the performance to start. Performance was further delayed by 10 minutes due to technical faults...I didn't know what kind of fault lah but the dolphins were already swimming in the sea..popping their heads up once in a while.Luckily daddy was there to carry her to view the performance throughout.Though it was a Friday, the place was full. 99% were kindergarten or younger children. They attended with their teachers. We had lunch at Koufu Foodcourt. The food sux. This girl is from another branch so she's not Kitty's classmate. At such young age, she's drinking cola...caffeine and high sugar contents--> bad.Big turtle. An Indian man was standing outside the entrance of Underwater World with a big yellow python for photo taking (if anyone was interested to pay $8). He had no business so he just used the python to tease passerby. Many were afraid and swerved away. I was so excited to be able to get close and when he walked near me, I touched the snake. I was carrying Kitty at that time. The python man then rested the snake on my shoulder and Kitty came face-to-face with the python. Too bad we could't catch this moment with a photo cos I am not willing to pay $8.Spider crab.Indeed, Kitty had deep impression of the eels, jellyfish, dolphins, sharks and spider crabs under this kind of real-life seeing and learning. When she's home, she would say the names and do the action of how they moved. Like eel, she would wriggle her hands. The last sea creatures we viewed for the day were a tank of sea angels. These tiny creatures "flapped" their wings in the water and glowed in red. They are really like tiny angels. I love them. So cute.
Rainbow after the storm
I am happier now.The hug with my mum buried all my sorrows. It's my husband who opened up my arms and hugged my mum. Isn't he sweet. This is just one of the few episodes of life that he went through with me and my family. It's my brother who can talk through things peacefully, holding the family together.*****************The laughter the whole family had when Kitty mimiced the Olympic Sychronised Gym performance with me. The contestants used skipping ropes, she took our my skipping rope. When they used hoola hoop, she also got her own hoola hoop and threw all around. Her ending pose very stylo also.Ben, Chun and I were craving to play table tennis. We thought of booking a table at CCK Sports Hall for a few games but Chun was so busy with appointments.Ben showed off his table tennis competition certificates and his branded bat at home lah. We then imitated the actions of the No. 1 table tennis player, Zhang Yi Ning, blowing her bat.Tomorrow I am going to borrow Ben's bat to office. Ryan and I may be playing after our lunch if we can locate the table in the warehouse. Hahaha.
Suay liao lor
My mum don't want to babysit for me if I have my No.2 becos she said she's under great pressure.Where does the great pressure comes from? Must be the saga between me and my dad recently. I was so sick and I got really pissed and I just shoot him. He's making me hate him even more. Mess up my life.I am thinking if I want a 2nd one now. See how great this destruction can be. A 2nd life maybe to zero.
Influenza
My illness escalated to Influenza on Monday. But still I worked through my Monday becos I know there's a big issue at work that day. I got worse in the office. Feverish, blurry, out-of-breath.It was in the night that I drove myself to the clinic. I dragged myself there. It was a hard drive cos I can't concentrate well.I went home with 5 different pills to swallow and a 1 day MC for today.I rest a lot on bed cos I was very weak and my hands are trembling too...My fever is under control now.I must be well before Friday so that I can go to the school trip with Kitty. We are going to Sentosa Underwater World and Pink Dolphin Lagoon.
Vicious Virus
1st is Kitty down with fever and cough suddenly on Thursday morning.2nd was my mum down with flu. Now, it's me who have sored throat and runny nose too.All the important caretakers of Kitty down but luckily we are not having fever so we still have the energy to take care of her.Just that my whole body aches.Went to Raffles Medical @ Lot 1 today. Good that there's no queue and the male doctor is young and handsome but the checkup only took like 2 mins.Ben was with me in the clinic...but of cos, we are very open. I commented to him on the doctor the moment we were out of the room. Kekeke.Oh, I went to Blk 678 kopitiam to tapao at the Zi Char stall on Friday. There's this cute guy preparing food in the stall but he's not the main chef. I like his fashionable hairstyle like those Taiwanese Idols have. He got a few tattoos, a scorpion on his ankle but their designs don't impress me much. He face features attracts me a lot. Nice nose, cute mouth. Most likely he's a Malaysian.Erm well, we exchanged a few looks but the main chefs looked out more than him. Whahahaa.
Busy upgrading
No update, no time to upload photos because I am busy with trading in my demo account every weekday after work. Can only use technical strategy now but not tea break because of my timing.I aim to buy 1 Smartphone, HTC or 02, to solve this problem.HTC Diamond is so so so alluring.Once my live account is opened, I will start trading.Aim to settle the loan I incurred for this upgrading within 3 - 4 months.***********Yes! I just profited 125 pips within 30 mins. It takes practice to let what I have learnt make sense to me.Along the way, things become clearer with the further enlightenments from Koon Lip. Whenever I have questions, I just ask. Ask and answers will come. It's even more effective to have my brother and Pat to attend the course with me becos we can revise what we have learnt together and we are pillars and motivation to one another.Feel so good to have yet another breakthrough in life.Ganbatte!Today is not raining so I am going to cycle to fetch my lui lui now.
Spotted in Dawn Yang's blog
I just spotted my friend's hand in Dawn Yang's blog. Though is just up to the wrist but I recognise that black mole which when I played mahjong with her, the mole will always catch my attention. So I smsed her to verify. OK at first she don't know who the hell DY is before DY visited the Dental clinic she worked in. But after that day, she knows DY is a blogger. She called me back immediately and I disiao her lah...Neko: Wah DY said the crew of nurses were so friendly. I don't think you friendly lor.Hawk: Nabeh. Bo pian mah, work leh.Neko: *briefed her on the recent saga of DY and XX, plastic surgery, mixed blood etc*Neko: I am XX's supporter lor. D is a beech.Neko: So how? Fake onot? Who is she with?Hawk: *disclose* I shall not put here or else wait kana sue.Hawk: Her bag very dirty.***********************************Ben and I are on leave on 8/8/08.We are going to Beijing Olympics Opening Ceremony! But cannot get a decent photo of his tattoo last time so cannot show the tattoo artist. Now? I don't want to put liao though I still like him. My criteria for boyfriend should look like him lor. Or Ekin Cheng becos of Chen Hao Nan...hahaha..don't say too much liao..wait you think I fickle woman. :pToday listen to Trish's recorded singing from her last jamming session. Very alternative lor. Guitarist played well lah. I like fell into another dimension when I listened.************...Randoms...Hungry Ghost Month has commenced. The weather for these few days are so hot and humid.Printed out some activities and reading materials to teach Kitty.Planning for our 5 years wedding anniversary with tight budget. Even the simplest thing can satisfy us becos we just want a rest day together. I plan to...- send Kitty to school in the morning- go for our dental checkup- a movie half marathon? catch Dark Knight and Money No Enough 2 in 1 single day maybe just in our neighbourhood shopping malls. Like that no worry on ERP *beep beep beep beep*, high parking charges... Like $15?- Grab a bite.I am passing my baton of fetching Kitty home to Ben on next Monday and Tuesday. I am going to attend classes till 10.30pm or even later at Robinson Centre.
Eel Season
July 24 and August 5 are the traditional eel days in Japan. You can expect high demand particularly in these days.Oh...I am going to grab some unagi-something to savour.Unagi sushi? Lot 1 just opened a EDO Sushi counter at Level B1. Easy access to my sushi cravings at a lower rate rather than stepping into Sakae Sushi at Level 3.Unagi kaba-yaki? I can get it from Level B1 in Lot 1 too.Frozen Unagi from NTUC? But these are from China. I am afraid to down China product into my stomach. It's like eating poison. It's the hottest season of the year in Japan now, and that means it's eel season. So, bottom's up!A canned drink called "Unagi Nobori," or "Surging Eel," made by Japan Tobacco Inc., hit the nation's stores this month just ahead of Japan's annual eel-eating season, company spokesman Kazunori Hayashi said Monday."It's mainly for men who are exhausted by the summer's heat," Hayashi said of the beverage, believed to be the first mass-produced eel drink in Japan.Yuueewww, although I like eating Unagi, but drinking it seems funny unless I treat it that I am drinking some unagi soup from a bottle. Wonder if it's salty or sweet? Many Japanese believe eating eel boosts stamina in hot weather. The fizzy, yellow-colored drink contains extracts from the head and bones of eel and five vitamins _ A, B1, B2, D and E _ contained in the fish.Demand for eel is so high that Japan has been hit by scores of eel fraud cases, including a recent high-profile incident in which a government ministry publicly scolded two companies for mislabeling eel imported from China as being domestically grown. The eel involved in recent scandals was prepared in a popular "kaba-yaki" style, in which it is broiled and covered with a sweet sauce. The $1.30 drink costs about one-tenth as much as broiled eel, but has a similar flavor.Eel extract is also used in cookies and pies made in Japan's biggest eel producing town, Hamamatsu.I doubt I can get this drink in Singapore right now. If I see it in Daiso, I will give it a try.
Maiko-Han & Cotton On
A usual Friday with me rushing to Lot 1 after work for grocery shopping.Top up pastas, spaghetti, sauces, salmon, diapers, eggs, carrots, Pi Pa Gao, milk bottles wash, Rosehip syrup. Gosh, my basket was heavy. Once again, I dragged the bags of stuffs, staggering in my netted stockings and mini dress. To balance up everything, I got myself a Maiko-Han liquid foundation. My Suisse Programme liquid foundation is finishing soon. Initially, I intended to get the mineral ranges but after testing on my face, none of the tones suit my fair complexion. Minerals cosmetics comes in darker shades.External - Heavily-Japan flavoured packing.Internal - Simple and elegant looking bottle.Cherry blossom details.Once again, another product from Japan. The packing already caught my attention months ago.I rated it good.Coverage - goodApplication - it blends easily on my face with my Prescriptive liquid foundation brush. Better than Suisse.Price - about the same as Loreal True Colours. Actual is $33.90 from Sa Sa but it was on 20% discount.I smelt cherry blossom when applying on my face.It conceals pores and unevenness with ultra tiny particles.Cherry blossom colour pearl powder leaves skin smooth and translucent-looking.Water-resistent formulation withstands sweat, sebum and even high temperature and humidity. SPF30 PA++.2nd buy is from Cotton On. $5! Can wear even after I conceived becos of the empire-cut, stretchable and light fabric.Ben and I patronise Cotton On a lot becos of the prices it offers for comfy and casual wears, yet not ugly. I hope the so-call SALE can goes on and on.
My left shoulder in great pain now!
After long hours of carrying Kitty...she is about 15kg or even heavier now, I felt sharp pain now. When we were out, I wouldn't feel that much pain, just tiredness from long hours of a weight pressing against my chest. I panted and perspired even in air-coned shopping centres. After I am home now, with her asleep, I feel my limb is dropping off. When the day my tummy bloated up again with the 2nd one, I would not be able to perform such act. I won't be able to bring Kitty out myself like now unless Hubby or someone is with me and can carry her if needed.Hey but today's trip is a good one. We celebrated Eileen's birthday in advance. Brenda finally satisfied her desire to meet Kitty.I felt at ease shopping with them. Eileen with a almost 3 years old Rene, Brenda who is a mum of two, one in NS and the girl in her 'O' Level year, they don't mind the long waiting of our kids stucked in the toys dept, walking round and round, always needing to look out for the kids. Ryan helped to carry our shopping bags throughout.Cool Rene @ Din Tai Fung.Kitty reading her book I brought along for casual reading when she's bored. This is the 3rd time in July, Kitty eating at Din Tai Fung. 1st was Wisma branch, 2nd was Paragon and now Raffles City.Rene and Kitty playing. I don't know what is this call. It got Kitty very excited and hyper.I don't know what's with Kitty. Is it Bollywood? She was hugging the big pillars everywhere. Monkey see monkey do. Rene also followed her and the photo turned out so "Titanic".Rene is an expert playing TV games since she is well-trained at home with her PS 2. Kitty is a noob. The treats of Ice cream cakes. Kitty sang Eileen a birthday song here. The skilful auntie who can form many figures using balloons. Rene and Kitty chose cats, actually was Mummy Eileen and my choice. Kekeke.Pink CatThe bus ride back to Bt Panjang with Eileen and Rene and then I was too tired to transfer another 2 buses home, we took a cab back.An auntie buei paiseh wanted me to give up my seat and share a seat with Kitty. I still have a big bag and paper bag with me, it's impossible to squeeze 2 of us plus the barangs in a small bus seat lor. Eileen then took my barangs over to her seats behind so that I just had to share with Kitty. Then the FAT auntie still "ate" into our boundary lah. KNN. Lim Bu is very shagged liao still must sit so uncomfortably. The unhappiness of taking public transport. KNN again lah.Now is 12 midnite, Ben is still working. That's 18 long hours for today liao! Poor Papa. I am going to keep the laundry, rubbed medicated oil on my sored shoulder and sleep liao.

Little Bali - 19/7/08
It was my MIL's 62nd birthday. As usual, she went to work at Turf Club in the day. We picked her up at Queenstown MRT after I left Orchard in the evening. Chun and Pat were in the car too. We had attended the Forex Workshop together earlier on.Lor Sai Neko waited at the wrong station! MIL told us to wait at the Church that side. OK, we saw a church beside the MRT station. So we waited there...how come she took so long to come down from the station??? We thought Queenstown MRT renovated and changed colour from blue to orange liao. But no, we were actually waiting at Commonwealth MRT. How come both also got Church beside one... Queenstown is just 1 stop away so it wasn't long before I drive to the correct BLUE station to pick her up. I hate it when Ben's not around. We reached Little Bali in Villa Frangipani at Malan Rd. It was MIL and my first time there.Breathtaking.I told Pat that I really feel like I was overseas holidaying. The place is dimly-litted by warm lights and candles. It's romantic in a wild way becos it's in like in the forest.I was walking around taking photos of the place before the food was served. There is still a portion of the place I missed because it was booked by people hosting their events. Then it started to rain so I couldn't move around in the Al Fresco area. The water fountain behind our seats. I like the sound of flowing water,The tap at the washing area outside the toilet is made of bamboo. Aiya, forgot to check the toilet out.A waiting area outside the toilet. The bar.The hut. Drinking and chatting in the kampung style. While waiting for the food. Our Thai platter for 4 pax. S$60.00+++We had this cheerful and enthu waiter who took photos for us, always checking out if there's anymore thing we need, even in the rain. I saw him using the big platter plate as a umbrella for the drinks which they are serving and he himself will get the rain.I regretted not getting his name so that I can drop a compliment via email to the superior. I feel that staffs in the service line will get the boost even from a small compliment lor. Last time when I was part-timing in New Zealand Ice Cream, a young lady wrote her compliment on the serviette that the waffles I made was delicious and it made her happy. I was so touched lor.Forgot to complain ah. Complain for the ACTIONS only not on any RACIAL things. When I was driving into the carpark in front of Little Bali, there were a bunch of Indians customers standing the the middle of the road leh. Even with my car approaching, they still remain THERE. CENTRE. NO FUCKING CARE TO MOVE. ONLY LOOK WITH THEIR BIG EYES.**************************I imagined-Indians thinking: Oh a pink car nehhhh. *heads tilting left right*I thinking: Oei I want to park, don't crowd around the carpark leh.Indians thinking: Oh a pink car coming towards us nehhh. *heads tilting left right*I thinking: Why still don't move? Should I horn? *Cursing endlessly*Indians thinking: Oh a pink car bonnet at our feet nehhh...feel the heat. Aiya..this lady driver lousy one. So long still cannot park. We stand here see. *heads tilting left right*I think: Nevermind, I will do many-many points turn until I parked in the way I want to. Fuck you.****************They don't care, I also don't care lah..just do what I needed to do but in a jerky way. I didn't use my horn throughout. My bonnet was almost kissing their feet then they moved a bit. JERK. Then I accelerate somemore. They more a bit more. The whole fucking process was extra hard. But I persevere. No head-in parking especially for such cramp place.I always tell my friend don't be too mean when critising them. But me and MIL was criticising them that night. Buei tahan lah. Is it their culture? Are they HANCOCK, not scare of car bang them one.To see this phenomenom, please visit Little Indian/ Serangoon area. You will know what I mean but you better drive with care. If you are walking...ermmm you better walked with care too.We then had durians (complimentary of Pat) at my house. Chun and Pat sent her home while I put Kitty to sleep. They came back for MJ.Chun and Pat very "wang" that night lah. Keep zhi-mo 5/6 tais. Ben and I almost bankrupt. Play 20-40 cents can lose until $80 leh.4 hours for 1 round becos Chun always tiao-zhng for almost 1 hour whenever he held the dices.I must buy a new red underwear liao. Try again next time.
Forex Intensive Preparation Workshop
Choo Koon Lip is my primary school classmate and secondary schoolmate. I am very lucky to have such a capable friend whom I can tap his knowledge and learn from him.Listening to someone whom you know is easier and more trusting than listening to a total stranger who advertised in the newspaper with exaggerated claims.Attending Koon Lip's workshop is cheaper than those advertised in the newspaper. Better, I got special "friendship" rate. My brother and girlfriend had privileges too.So on 4th and 5th Aug, I am going to attend the 3 hours long workshop till 10pm in CBD area.
Tips to keep your marriage from ageing!
That one momentous decision, when you decided to share your life with that very special person, ushered in boundless joy, happiness and an experience second to none of the experiences you’ve had before. As the days rolled by you even wonder how you had lived without each other so long. Then as the days turn into years you discover that without your realizing your priorities have changed from each other to the nitty gritties involved in the running of your lives- the bills, the children’s schools, a better lifestyle etc. Most marriages go through this stage and come out of it by making conscious effort to shift focus. But, instances where people have gone through marriages that have lasted thirty to forty years with the partners living in two different worlds is also common. But keeping the flame of love burning is not back breaking work and the results are a lifetime of sheer bliss and togetherness. So, its well worth a try.In purple are my comments.- Look at your life together as one. Weave things that that are meaningful to you as a person and those that are meaningful to your spouse into the fabric of your married life. For instance there may be things around the house that you think are useless. But, they are your spouse’s precious possessions. Instead of trying to convince him/her to see your viewpoint the issue is best left untackled.Ok. But no rubbish. Really.- Take note of all the little things that you used to give so much importance to during the initial years of your marriage. Remember how you used to call him up, “just like that”? or give him a reminder call just before lunch. Or better still check out his/ her schedule and fix a surprise lunch/ dinner date.Ok, I passed this.- Make it a point to eat at least one meal together.Hmm.. this is not a daily affairs because he works till late but I cooked for him almost everyday. When he can be back from work before my dinner time, I will sure grab the opportunity to eat with him, of course.- Remove the television from the bedroom and the drawing room.Aiya, tv in the bedroom don't affect us becos we feel that being able to watch tv together is our relaxation. We will comment or laugh at the dramas we watched together.- Develop a hobby together. Make it a ritual to spend at least half an hour together on your chosen hobby. He can't have ritual becos of his work. But we do share same hobbies and we will get super excited when we talked about our hobby. Yah, talk only becos we got to sacrifice our hobby time to be with our daughter so we don't DO our hobby, talk only.Currently, we are extremely tempted to buy a new Suzuki DRZ super motard to ride lor. Both of us are thinking of it everyday.I want a Yellow one, black also can lah. Anyway I will save money to spray it PINK one day.- Do not take quarrels back to bed. Always make up before you go to bed.We got not are lack of time to even chat, where got time to quarrel?- Let go of the past. If you have painful memories of some pain or hurt inflicted upon you by your spouse haunting you even now then just forgive and forget. Can't think of any haunts now.- Don’t contradict or criticize your spouse in front of others. Something that comes naturally to most couples who have married for a while.Oppss...we do make fun of each other in front of others. But we are all game enough so no harm.- Praise your spouse (good idea to have him/her) within hearing distance to others.Don’t compare him with Mr. A, B or CYeah, I praise him for many things. But I seldom hear him praise me. I do compare him... with Jay Chow, Takuya Kimura and many hot guys. LOL.- Cherish small things. Like a call made to you to ask you if you had eaten lunch. Or a cute ‘miss you” SMS.We always do that.- After a few years of togetherness whining and complaining seems to come very naturally to us. Be careful about this. It can be very dangerous. Whenever possible try to refrain from doing this.He listens to my whining, I listen to his complaints. Fair and square. We are each other's listening ears.- Consult each other when taking important decisions. Many of us seem to feel that this is not necessary because your spouse had absolute faith in you/your taste. We always consult.- Take interest or at least show some interest and enthusiasm in things that interest your spouse.I will show interest to him but he ignore some of my interest... like watching Jap anime/ drama. Guess it's hard for him... I got many interest. I am a very colourful person.- Complement each other.Hey darling! Complement me more. Don't always make fun of me only.- Don’t keep secrets from one another.Ooooo no secret.- Make your spouse feel special by doing meaningful things. Like taking care of the kids and the house while she spends a leisurely day at the beauty parlour. Not at the moment, cos as long as there can be time for Daddy, Mummy and Kitty to be together, we will be together. But of cos, I do hope he can give me days off while I go to enjoy my things..- Be honest with each other. We are honest. He's honest to me when he farted but sometimes he pin-pointed at Kitty. Kitty never admit.- Last but not the least, say the magic words “I love you” to each other every single day.No fail. Once again, darling I LOVE YOU!!!
Heavenly wedding
More of Tony Leung and Carina Lau.
A long-awaited wedding - Tony Leung and Carina Lau
Congratulations to Tony and Carina!!! After all the "wind wind rain rain" and the 3rd party come-in-between (rumor or truth, I don't know), they finally tie the knot today... the ending that I, and many people in the world, want to see.My thoughts: Tony is a good man. Carina will be well taken care and protected. Will they still want to have children at their age? Let's wait and see.Tony Leung and Carina Lau released one of their wedding photos to quench fans' curiosity on Sunday, one day before the Hong Kong couple's much-discussed wedding in Bhutan. The photo shows the star couple wearing red gowns standing in front of a lush backdrop. Leung and Lau began shooting their wedding photos shortly after their arrival in Bhutan last week, the Hong Kong-based Wen Wei Po reported. Places featured in their wedding album include Bhutan's royal palace.A lavish wedding is scheduled Monday at the luxurious Uma Paro hotel. Because Lau said she wanted a peaceful wedding, the hotel is being heavily guarded to keep the paparazzi at bay.Leung's management company said that on Friday, hotel security removed at least eight journalists who had entered the premises of the Uma Paro, the International Herald Tribune reported.Meanwhile, most of the 80 or so guests have arrived in Bhutan. Celebrity guests include filmmaker Stanley Kwan, actress Brigitte Lin, and former pop diva Faye Wong and her actor husband, Li Yapeng. Award-winning film director Wong Kar-Wai is in charge of planning the wedding.Tony Leung, 46, and Carina Lau, 42, have been together for 19 years.**********************************************************The Kingdom of Bhutan is a landlocked nation in South Asia. It is located amid the eastern end of the Himalaya Mountains and is bordered to the south, east and west by India and to the north by China. Bhutan is separated from Nepal by the Indian state of Sikkim. The Bhutanese call their country, Druk Yul (land of the thunder dragon).Bhutan is one of the most isolated and least developed nations in the world. Foreign influences and tourism are regulated by the government to preserve the nation's traditional culture, identity and the environment. In 2006, however, Business Week rated Bhutan the happiest country in Asia and the eighth happiest country in the world. The landscape ranges from subtropical plains in the south to the Himalayan heights in the north, with some peaks exceeding 7,000 metres (23,000 ft). The state religion is Vajrayana Buddhism, and the population is predominantly Buddhist, with Hinduism being the second-largest religion. The capital and largest city is Thimphu. After centuries of direct monarchic rule, Bhutan held its first democratic elections in March 2008. Bhutan is a member of the South Asian Association for Regional Cooperation (SAARC)."Bhutan" may be derived from the Sanskrit word Bhu-Utthan (highlands). In another theory of Sanskritisation, Bhots-ant means "End of Tibet", as Bhutan is immediately to Tibet's south.Historically Bhutan was known by many names, such as Lho Mon (southern land of darkness), Lho Tsendenjong (southern land of the Tsenden cypress), Lhomen Khazhi (southern land of four approaches) and Lho Men Jong (southern land of medicinal herbs).[1] Bhutan is also commonly known as The Last Shangrila.HistoryStone tools, weapons, elephants, and remnants of large stone structures provide evidence that Bhutan was inhabited as early as 2000 BCE, although there are no existing records from that time. Historians have theorized that the state of Lhomon (literally, "southern darkness"), or Monyul ("Dark Land", a reference to the Monpa, the aboriginal peoples of Bhutan) may have existed between 500 BCE and 600 CE.The names Lhomon Tsendenjong (Sandalwood Country), and Lhomon Khashi, or Southern Mon (country of four approaches) have been found in ancient Bhutanese and Tibetan chronicles. The earliest transcribed event in Bhutan was the passage of the Buddhist saint Padma Sambhava (also known as Guru Rinpoche) in 747. Bhutan's early history is unclear, because most of the records were destroyed after fire ravaged the ancient capital, Punakha, in 1827. By the 10th century, Bhutan's political development was heavily influenced by its religious history. However, there is no sufficient information stating that all historical records were available before the fire. Various sub-sects of Buddhism emerged which were patronised by the various Mongol and Tibetan overlords. After the decline of the Mongols in the 14th century, these sub-sects vied with each other for supremacy in the political and religious landscape, eventually leading to the ascendancy of the Drukpa sub-sect by the 16th century.Until the early 17th century, Bhutan existed as a patchwork of minor warring fiefdoms, when the area was unified by the Tibeten lama and military leader Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal. To defend the country against intermittent Tibetan forays, Namgyal built a network of impregnable dzong (fortresses), and promulgated a code of law that helped to bring local lords under centralised control. Many such dzong still exist. After Namgyal's death in 1651, Bhutan fell into civil war. Taking advantage of the chaos, the Tibetans attacked Bhutan in 1710, and again in 1730 with the help of the Mongols. Both assaults were successfully thwarted, and an armistice was signed in 1759.In the 18th century, the Bhutanese invaded and occupied the kingdom of Cooch Behar to the south. In 1772, Cooch Behar appealed to the British East India Company who assisted them in ousting the Bhutanese, and later in attacking Bhutan itself in 1774. A peace treaty was signed in which Bhutan agreed to retreat to its pre-1730 borders. However, the peace was tenuous, and border skirmishes with the British were to continue for the next 100 years. The skirmishes eventually led to the Duar War (1864–1865), a confrontation over who would control the Bengal Duars. After Bhutan lost the war, the Treaty of Sinchula was signed between British India and Bhutan. As part of the war reparations, the Duars were ceded to the United Kingdom in exchange for a rent of Rs. 50,000. The treaty ended all hostilities between British India and Bhutan.During the 1870s, power struggles between the rival valleys of Paro and Tongsa led to civil war in Bhutan, eventually leading to the ascendancy of Ugyen Wangchuck, the ponlop (governor) of Tongsa. From his power base in central Bhutan, Ugyen Wangchuck defeated his political enemies and united the country following several civil wars and rebellions in the period 1882–1885.In 1907, an epochal year for the country, Ugyen Wangchuck was unanimously chosen as the hereditary king of the country by an assembly of leading Buddhist monks, government officials, and heads of important families. The British government promptly recognised the new monarchy, and in 1910 Bhutan signed a treaty which "let" Great Britain "guide" Bhutan's foreign affairs. In reality, this did not mean much given Bhutan's historical reticence. It also did not seem to apply to Bhutan's traditional relations with Tibet. The greatest impact of this treaty seems to be the perception that it meant Bhutan was not totally sovereign. After India gained independence from the United Kingdom on August 15, 1947, Bhutan became one of the first countries to recognise India's independence. A treaty similar to the one of 1910 was signed August 8, 1949 with the newly independent India. The Trongsa Dzong. In 1953, King Jigme Dorji Wangchuck established the country's legislature – a 130-member National Assembly – to promote a more democratic form of governance. In 1965, he set up a Royal Advisory Council, and in 1968 he formed a Cabinet. In 1971, Bhutan was admitted to the United Nations, having held observer status for three years. In July 1972, Jigme Singye Wangchuck ascended to the throne at the age of 16 after the death of his father, Dorji Wangchuck. In the 1980s, in order to strengthen Bhutan’s identity as a nation, the "one nation, one people" campaign was started to foster greater integration of the peripheral ethnic and cultural groups into mainstream Bhutanese society. The age-old code of conduct, known as Driglam namzha, and usage of the official national language, Dzongkha, was promoted. At around the same time, a nationwide census revealed a large population of Nepali origin in southern Bhutan. When the government attempted to remove what it considered as illegal settlers, there was a violent backlash; numerous acts of terrorism were carried out against government schools, hospitals, offices and neutral southern Bhutanese. In order to re-establish order in the south, the government drafted many young men and able-bodied civil servants into a militia force. Thousands of civilians, including a number of political dissidents, were expelled or fled to Nepal, where they were admitted into United Nations-run camps and given refugee status. Despite the best efforts of the Bhutanese government Nepal and India, as well as outside parties such as the United Nations, the European Union and the United States, a viable solution to this problem proves to be still elusive. At present, the United States is working towards resettling around 70,000 of these refugees in the US.In 1998, King Jigme Singye Wangchuck introduced significant political reforms, transferring most of his administrative powers to the Council of Cabinet Ministers and allowing for impeachment of the King by a two-thirds majority of the National Assembly. In late 2003, the Bhutanese army successfully launched a large-scale operation to flush out anti-India insurgents who were operating training camps in southern Bhutan. In 1999, the government lifted a ban on television and the Internet, making Bhutan one of the last countries to introduce television. In his speech, the King said that television was a critical step to the modernisation of Bhutan as well as a major contributor to the country's Gross National Happiness (Bhutan is the only country to measure happiness), but warned that the "misuse" of television could erode traditional Bhutanese values. The Taktshang Monastery, also known as the "Tiger's Nest". Bhutan is a predominantly Buddhist country, with the religion forming an integral part of everyday life.A new constitution was presented in early 2005. In December 2005, Jigme Singye Wangchuck announced that he would abdicate the throne in his son's favour in 2008. On December 14, 2005, he announced that he would be abdicating immediately. Bhutan has now entered a new era of democracy, starting with its first national parliamentary elections in December 2007 and March 2008.Government and politicsOver the past decade, Bhutan's political system has developed from an absolute monarchy into a constitutional monarchy. In 1999, the fourth king of Bhutan created a body called the Lhengye Zhungtshog (Council of Ministers). The 'Druk Gyalpo' (King of Druk Yul) is head of state.Executive power is exercised by the Lhengye Zhungtshog, the council of ministers. Legislative power was vested in both the government and the former Grand National Assembly. On the 17th of December 2005, the 4th King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, announced to a stunned nation that the first general elections would be held in 2008, and that he would abdicate the throne in favor of his eldest son, the crown prince.King Jigme Khesar Namgyal Wangchuck took the throne on December 14, 2005 upon his father's abdication. The Crowning ceremony is expected to be held in May 2008 and the Coronation Celebrations later in the year. The new democratic system comprises an upper and lower house, the latter based on political party affiliations. Elections for the upper house (National Council) were held on December 31, 2007, while elections for the lower house, the 47-seat National Assembly, were held on March 24, 2008. Two political parties, the People's Democratic Party (PDP) headed by Sangay Ngedup, and the Druk Phuensum Tshogpa (DPT) headed by Jigmi Thinley, competed in the National Assembly election. The Druk Phuensum Tshogpa won the elections taking 45 out of 47 seats in the parliament.Judicial power is vested in the courts of Bhutan. The Chief Justice is the administrative head of the Judiciary.Military and Foreign AffairsThe Royal Bhutan Army is Bhutan's military service. It includes the Royal Bodyguard and the Royal Bhutan Police. Membership is voluntary, and the minimum age for recruitment is 18. The standing army numbers about 6,000 and is trained by the Indian Army. It has an annual budget of about US$13.7 million — 1.8 percent of the GDP.Though the 1949 treaty with India is still sometimes misinterpreted to mean that India controlled Bhutan's foreign affairs, Bhutan handled all of its foreign affairs itself including the sensitive (to India) border demarcation issue with China. The 1949 treaty has been superseded by the 2007 treaty with India which made de-jure what was de-facto, that Bhutan was master of its own foreign relations. Bhutan has diplomatic relations with 22 countries, including the European Union, with missions in India, Bangladesh, Thailand, and Kuwait. It has two UN missions, one in New York and one in Geneva. Only India and Bangladesh have residential embassies in Bhutan, while Thailand has a consulate office in Bhutan.By a long standing treaty, Indian and Bhutanese citizens may travel to each other's countries without a passport or visa using their national identity cards instead. Bhutanese citizens may also work in India without legal restriction. Bhutan does not have formal diplomatic ties with its northern neighbour, China, although exchanges of visits at various levels between the two have significantly increased in the recent past. The first bilateral agreement between China and Bhutan was signed in 1998, and Bhutan has also set up consulates in Macau and Hong Kong. Bhutan’s border with China is largely not demarcated and thus disputed in some places. On November 13, 2005, Chinese soldiers crossed into Bhutan under the pretext that environmental conditions had forced their retreat south from the Himalayas. The Bhutanese government allowed this incursion (after the fact) on humanitarian grounds.Soon after, the Chinese began building roads and bridges within Bhutanese territory. Bhutanese Foreign Minister Khandu Wangchuk took up the matter with Chinese authorities after the issue was raised in Bhutanese parliament. In response, Foreign Ministry spokesman Qin Gang of the People's Republic of China has said that the border remains in dispute and that the two sides continue to work for a peaceful and cordial resolution of the dispute. An Indian intelligence officer has said that a Chinese delegation in Bhutan told the Bhutanese that they were "overreacting." The Bhutanese newspaper Kuensel has said that China might use the roads to further Chinese claims along the border. On February 8, 2007, the Indo-Bhutan Friendship Treaty was substantially revised. Whereas in the Treaty of 1949 Article 2 read as "The Government of India undertakes to exercise no interference in the internal administration of Bhutan. On its part the Government of Bhutan agrees to be guided by the advice of the Government of India in regard to its external relations."In the revised treaty it now reads as "In keeping with the abiding ties of close friendship and cooperation between Bhutan and India, the Government of the Kingdom of Bhutan and the Government of the Republic of India shall cooperate closely with each other on issues relating to their national interests. Neither government shall allow the use of its territory for activities harmful to the national security and interest of the other." The revised treaty also includes in it the preamble "Reaffirming their respect for each other's independence, sovereignty and territorial integrity", an element that was absent in the earlier version. The Indo-Bhutan Friendship Treaty of 2007 strengthens Bhutan's status as an independent and sovereign nation.Bhutan has no formal relations with the United States, Russia, the United Kingdom or France. Informal contact with the United States is made through the U.S. embassy in New Delhi.GeographyThe northern region consists of an arc of glaciated mountain peaks with an extremely cold climate at the highest elevations. Most peaks in the north are over 23,000 feet (7,000 m) above sea level; the highest point is claimed to be the Kula Kangri, at 24,780 feet (7,553 m), but detailed topographic studies claim Kula Kangri is wholly in Tibet and modern Chinese measurements claim that Gangkhar Puensum, which has the distinction of being the highest unclimbed mountain in the world, is higher at 24,835 feet (7,570 m). Watered by snow-fed rivers, alpine valleys in this region provide pasture for livestock, tended by a sparse population of migratory shepherds. The Black Mountains in central Bhutan form a watershed between two major river systems: the Mo Chhu and the Drangme Chhu. Peaks in the Black Mountains range between 4,900 feet and 8,900 feet (1,500 m and 2,700 m) above sea level, and fast-flowing rivers have carved out deep gorges in the lower mountain areas. Woodlands of the central region provide most of Bhutan's forest production. The Torsa, Raidak, Sankosh, and Manas are the main rivers of Bhutan, flowing through this region. Most of the population lives in the central highlands. In the south, the Shiwalik Hills are covered with dense, deciduous forests, alluvial lowland river valleys, and mountains up to around 4,900 feet (1,500 m) above sea level. The foothills descend into the subtropical Duars Plain. Most of the Duars is located in India, although a 6–9 mile (10–15 km) wide strip extends into Bhutan. The Bhutan Duars is divided into two parts: the northern and the southern Duars. The northern Duars, which abuts the Himalayan foothills, has rugged, sloping terrain and dry, porous soil with dense vegetation and abundant wildlife. The southern Duars has moderately fertile soil, heavy savannah grass, dense, mixed jungle, and freshwater springs. Mountain rivers, fed by either the melting snow or the monsoon rains, empty into the Brahmaputra River in India. Data released by the Ministry of Agriculture showed that the country had a forest cover of 64% as of October 2005.The climate in Bhutan varies with altitude, from subtropical in the south to temperate in the highlands and polar-type climate, with year-round snow, in the north. Bhutan experiences five distinct seasons: summer, monsoon, autumn, winter and spring. Western Bhutan has the heavier monsoon rains; southern Bhutan has hot humid summers and cool winters; central and eastern Bhutan is temperate and drier than the west with warm summers and cool winters.EconomyThe Ngultrum is the currency of Bhutan and its value is pegged to the Indian rupee. The rupee is also accepted as legal tender in the country.Though Bhutan's economy is one of the world's smallest, it has grown rapidly in recent years, by eight percent in 2005 and 14 percent in 2006. This was mainly due to the commissioning of the gigantic Tala Hydroelectricity project. As of March 2006, Bhutan's per capita income was US$1,321.Bhutan's economy is based on agriculture, forestry, tourism and the sale of hydroelectric power to India. Agriculture provides the main livelihood for more than 80 percent of the population. Agrarian practices consist largely of subsistence farming and animal husbandry. Handicrafts, particularly weaving and the manufacture of religious art for home altars, are a small cottage industry. A landscape that varies from hilly to ruggedly mountainous has made the building of roads and other infrastructure difficult and expensive. This, and a lack of access to the sea, has meant that Bhutan has not been able to benefit from significant trading of its produce. Bhutan does not have any railways, though Indian Railways plans to link southern Bhutan to its vast network under an agreement signed in January 2005. Bhutan and India signed a 'free trade' accord in 2008, which additionally allowed Bhutanese imports and exports from third markets to transit India without tariffs. The historic trade routes over the high Himalayas, which connected India to Tibet, have been closed since the 1959 military takeover of Tibet (although smuggling activity still brings Chinese goods into Bhutan). The industrial sector is in a nascent stage, and though most production is cottage industry type larger industries are being encouraged and some industries such as cement, steel, ferro alloy, etc., have been set up. Most development projects, such as road construction, rely on Indian contract labour. Agricultural produce includes rice, chilies, dairy (some yak, mostly cow) products, buckwheat, barley, root crops, apples, and citrus and maize at lower elevations. Industries include cement, wood products, processed fruits, alcoholic beverages and calcium carbide.Incomes of over Nu 100,000 per annum are taxed, but very few wage and salary earners qualify. Bhutan's inflation rate was estimated at about three percent in 2003. Bhutan has a Gross Domestic Product of around USD 2.913 billion (adjusted to Purchasing Power Parity), making it the 162nd largest economy in the world.Per capita income is around $1,400[22] , ranked 124th. Government revenues total $272 million, though expenditures amount to $350 million. 60 percent of the budget expenditure, however, is financed by India's Ministry of External Affairs. Bhutan's exports, principally electricity, cardamom, gypsum, timber, handicrafts, cement, fruit, precious stones and spices, total €128 million (2000 est.). Imports, however, amount to €164 million, leading to a trade deficit. Main items imported include fuel and lubricants, grain, machinery, vehicles, fabrics and rice. Bhutan's main export partner is India, accounting for 87.9 percent of its export goods. Bangladesh (4.6 percent) and the Philippines (two percent)[24] are the other two top export partners. As its border with Tibet is closed, trade between Bhutan and China is now almost non-existent. Bhutan's import partners include India (71.3 percent), Japan (7.8 percent) and Austria (three percent). In a response to accusations in 1987 by a journalist from UK's Financial Times that the pace of development in Bhutan was slow, the King said that "Gross National Happiness is more important than Gross National Product." This statement appears to have presaged recent findings by western economic psychologists, including 2002 Nobel Laureate Daniel Kahneman, that question the link between levels of income and happiness. The statement signaled his commitment to building an economy that is appropriate for Bhutan's culture, based on Buddhist spiritual values, and has served as a unifying vision for the economy. In a survey in 2005, 45 percent of Bhutanese reported being very happy, 52 percent reported being happy and only three percent reported not being happy. Based on this data, the Happy Planet Index estimates that the average level of life satisfaction in Bhutan is within the top 10 percent of nations worldwide, and certainly higher than other nations with similar levels of GDP per capita.DemographicsAmong the Bhutanese people, several principal ethnic groups may be distinguished. The second dominant group is the Ngalops, a Buddhist group based in the western part of the country. Their culture is closely related to that of Tibet. Much the same could be said of the Sharchops ("Easterners"), the dominant group, who are associated with the eastern part of Bhutan (but who traditionally follow the Nyingmapa rather than the official Drukpa Kagyu form of Himalayan Buddhism). They are called the Western Bhutanese and Eastern Bhutanese respectively. In modern times, with improved transportation infrastructure, there has been much intermarriage between these groups. In the early 1970s, intermarriage between the Lhotshampas and main stream Bhutanese society was encouraged by the government. The national language is Dzongkha, one of 53 languages in the Tibetan language family. The script, here called Chhokey ("Dharma Language"), is identical to classical Tibetan. In the schools English is the medium of instruction and Dzongkha is taught as the national language. Ethnologue lists 24 languages currently spoken in Bhutan, all of them in the Tibeto-Burman family, except Nepali, an Indo-Aryan language. Until the 1980s, the government sponsored the teaching of Nepali in schools in Southern Bhutan. However, after the armed uprising in the south, Nepali was dropped from the curriculum. The languages of Bhutan are still not well-characterized, and several have yet to be recorded in an in-depth academic grammar. The literacy rate is 59.5 percent. The country has a median age of 22.3 years. Bhutan has a life expectancy of 62.2 years (61 for males and 64.5 for females) according to the latest data from the World Bank. There are 1,070 males to every 1,000 females in the country. It is estimated that between two third and three quarter of the Bhutanese population follow Mahayana Buddhism, which is also the state religion. About one quarter to one third are followers of Hinduism. Muslim and non-religious communities account for less than 1 % of the population. The current legal framework in principal guarantees freedom of religion; Proselytism, however, is forbidden by a Royal Government decision.CultureBhutanese thanka of Mt. Meru and the Buddhist Universe, 19 century.Bhutan has a rich and unique cultural heritage that has largely remained intact due to its isolation from the rest of the world until the early 1960s. One of the main attractions for tourists is the country's culture and traditions. Bhutanese tradition is deeply steeped in its Buddhist heritage. Hinduism is the second dominant religion in Bhutan, being most prevalent in the southern regions. Both religions co-exist peacefully and receive support from the government, and enjoy royal patronage. The government is increasingly making efforts to preserve and sustain the current culture and traditions of the country. Due to its largely unspoilt natural environment and cultural heritage, Bhutan has aptly been referred to as The Last Shangri-la.While the Bhutanese are free to travel abroad, Bhutan is seen to be inaccessible to many foreigners. There is a widespread misconception that Bhutan has set limits on tourist visas. However, it is the high tourist tariff and requirement to go on packaged tours that makes Bhutan an exclusive tourist destination. The National Dress for Bhutanese men is the gho, a knee-length robe tied at the waist by a cloth belt known as the kera. Women wear an ankle-length dress, the kira, which is clipped at one shoulder and tied at the waist. An accompaniment to the kira is a long-sleeved blouse, the toego, which is worn underneath the outer layer. Social status and class determine the texture, colours, and decorations that embellish the garments. Differently coloured scarves and shawls are important indicators of social standing, as Bhutan has traditionally been a feudal society.Jewellery is mostly worn by women, especially during religious festivals and public gatherings. To strengthen Bhutan's identity as an independent country, Bhutanese law requires all Bhutanese citizens to wear the national dress in public areas and as formal wear.Rice, buckwheat, and increasingly maize, are the staple foods of the country. The diet also includes pork, beef, yak meat, chicken, and mutton. Soups and stews of meat and dried vegetables spiced with chillies and cheese are prepared. Ema datshi, made very spicy with cheese and chilies, might be called the national dish for its ubiquity and the pride that Bhutanese have for it. Dairy foods, particularly butter and cheese from yaks and cows, are also popular, and indeed almost all milk is turned to butter and cheese. Popular beverages include butter tea, tea, locally brewed rice wine and beer. Bhutan is the only country in the world to have banned the sale of tobacco. *Me said: "Wow, this is really heaven and holy."*Bhutan's national sport is archery, and competitions are held regularly in most villages. It differs from Olympic standards not only in technical details such as the placement of the targets and atmosphere. There are two targets placed over 100 meters apart and teams shoot from one end of the field to the other. Each member of the team shoots two arrows per round. Traditional Bhutanese archery is a social event and competitions are organized between villages, towns, and amateur teams. There are usually plenty of food and drink complete with singing and dancing. Attempts to distract an opponent include standing around the target and making fun of the shooter's ability. Darts (khuru) is an equally popular outdoor team sport, in which heavy wooden darts pointed with a 10 cm nail are thrown at a paperback-sized target ten to 20 meters away.Another traditional sport is the digor, which can be best described as shot put combined with horseshoe throwing. Cricket has gained remarkable popularity in Bhutan, especially since the heavy influx of Indian Television. Their national cricket team is one of the more successful associate nations in the region. Football is an increasingly popular sport. In 2002, Bhutan's national football team played Montserrat - billed as The Other Final, the match took place on the same day Brazil played Germany in the World Cup Final, but at the time Bhutan and Montserrat were the world's two lowest ranked teams. The match was held in Thimphu's Changlimithang National Stadium, and Bhutan won 4-0. A documentary of the match was made by the Dutch filmmaker Johan Kramer.Rigsar is the new emergent style of popular music, played on a mix of traditional instruments and electronic keyboards, and dates back to the early 1990s; it shows the influence of Indian popular music, a hybrid form of traditional and Western popular influences. Traditional genres include the zhungdra and boedra.Chaam, sacred masked dances, are annually performed during religious festivals.Characteristic of the region is a type of castle fortress known as the dzong. Since ancient times, the dzongs have served as the religious and secular administration centres for their respective districts.Bhutan has numerous public holidays, most of which centre around traditional seasonal, secular and religious festivals. They include the winter solstice (around January 1, depending on the lunar calendar), the lunar New Year (February or March), the King's birthday and the anniversary of his coronation, the official start of monsoon season (September 22), National Day (December 17), and various Buddhist and Hindu celebrations.Masked dances and dance dramas are common traditional features at festivals, usually accompanied by traditional music. Energetic dancers, wearing colourful wooden or composition face masks and stylized costumes, depict heroes, demons, dæmons, death heads, animals, gods, and caricatures of common people. The dancers enjoy royal patronage, and preserve ancient folk and religious customs and perpetuate the ancient lore and art of mask-making.Inheritance in Bhutan generally goes in the female rather than the male line. Daughters will inherit their parents' house. A man is expected to make his own way in the world and often moves to his wife's home. Love marriages are common in urban areas, but the tradition of arranged marriages is still common in the villages. Although uncommon, polygamy and polyandry are accepted; often being a device to keep property in a contained family unit rather than dispersing it.

DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON?
This is a very good article. Those who are still single may learn something from here...Those who are already married may take it as a guideline to improve your marriage & relationship ...********************DID I MARRY THE RIGHT PERSON? During one of our seminars, a woman asked a common question. She said, 'How do I know if I married the right person?' I noticed that there was a large man sitting next to her so I said, 'It depends. Is that your husband?'In all seriousness, she answered 'How do you know?'Let me answer this question because the chances are good that it's weighing on your mind. Here'! s the answer.EVERY relationship has a cycle. In the beginning, you fell in love with your spouse/partner. You anticipated their call, wanted their touch, and liked their idiosyncrasies (unconventional behavior/habit).Falling in love with your spouse wasn't hard. In fact, it was a completely natural and spontaneous experience. You didn't have to DO anything. That's why it's called 'falling' in love... Because it's happening TO YOU.People in love sometimes say, 'I was swept off my feet.' Think about the imagery of that expression. It implies that you were just standing there; doing nothing, and then something came along and happened TO YOU.Falling in love is easy. It's a passive and spontaneous experience. But after a few years of marriage, the euphoria (excitement) of love fades. It's the natural cycle of EVERY relationship. Slowly but surely, phone calls become a bother (if they come at all), touch is not always welcome (when it happens), and your spouse's idiosyncrasies, instead of being cute, drive you nuts. The symptoms of this stage vary with every relationship, but if you think about your marriage, you will notice a dramatic difference between the initial stage when you were in love and a much duller or even angry subsequent stage. At this point, you and/or your spouse might start asking, 'Did I marry the right person?' And as you and your spouse reflect on the euphoria of the love you on! ce had, you may begin to desire that experience with someone else. This is when marriages breakdown. People blame their spouse for their unhappiness and look outside their marriage for fulfillment.Extramarital fulfillment comes in all shapes and sizes. Infidelity is the most obvious. But sometimes people turn to work, a hobby, a friendship, excessive TV, or abusive substances. But the answer to this dilemma does NOT lie outside your marriage. It lies within it. I'm not saying that you couldn't fall in love with someone else. You could. And TEMPORARILY you'd feel better. But you'd be in the same situation a few years ! later. Because (listen carefully to this):THE KEY TO SUCCEEDING IN MARRIAGE IS NOT FINDING THE RIGHT PERSON; IT'S LEARNING TO LOVE THE PERSON YOU FOUND. SUSTAINING love is not a passive or spontaneous experience. It'll NEVER just happen to you. You can't 'find' LASTING love. You have to 'make' it day in and day out. That's why we have the expression 'the labor of love.'Because it takes time, effort, and energy. And most importantly, it takes WISDOM. You have to know WHAT TO DO to make your marriage work.Make no mistake about it. Love is NOT a mystery. There are specific things you can do (with or without your spouse) to succeed with your marriage.Just as there are physical laws of the universe (such as gravity), there are also laws for relationships.Just as the right diet and exercise program makes you physically stronger, certain habits in your relationship WILL make your marriage stronger. It's a direct cause and effect. If you know and apply the laws, the results are predictable... you can 'make' love.Love in marriage is indeed a 'decision'... Not just a feeling.Remember this always:'God determines who walks into your life. It is up to you to decide who you let walk away, who you let stay! , and who you refuse to let go.'

Daddy's Sunday mission
1) Bring Kitty to Fidgets for her long-awaited play.2) Buy Kitty a pair of new shoe to replace her undersized Crocs.Mummy's also have a mission.Bring Daddy to Din Tai Fung @ Paragon to eat the Xiao Long Bao and fried rice which he missed last week. Our lucky bao bei Kitty had her play, new stuffs and good food. During her play at Fidgets, she got bitten by an angmoh kid. The teeth mark turned to bruises now and is still visible after 2 days. Hopefully she learnt that she cannot always have her ways. When she left the play car, the boy got in. She went back to the car and open the door, the boy shut it, she opened again and got herself bitten hard. She didn't cry, she left the boy quietly, came to us and show her injured arm.My tears were rolling in my eyes while I wiped of the saliva on her arm. I took out my miniature Tiger Balm and rubbed it onto the affected area. Ben was angry ann wanted to beat the boy, even the father of the boy... I believe just his "irrational" thoughts when he saw his darling daughter hurt. I calmed him with my "angelic" words,"kids are like that, you can blame them.""it's ok, let Kitty learnt.""it's wrong for us, adults to get violent with the kids."But honestly, being a violent-prone person who loves to fight for my right and anything I "kua buei song", I would go and give them boy a slap or what and then swear at his daddy. But, of cos, being a good mother, a role model for Kitty, such act must be condemned and hide it behind my brain where signals cannot be sent to move my hands for the actions, my lips for the bad words.Kitty must grow and learnt to protect herself, not always under our shields. She must learn the causes-and-effects theory. Hey, probably, she knew she's in the wrong, that's why she did not cry and hit the boy back. That's commendable! Always trust your children.Kitty, mummy trusts that you are sensible and know your mistake. Good girl!Playing in an area with another angmoh boy who has flu had caused Kitty to catch the virus on that instant day too. She started to have yellowish mucus and nose blockage.***We bought Kitty's Combi shoes from Isetan, PINK, of cos. It's daddy's choice. He had aimed these Combi shoes for months cos he thinks that it's chio, and got pink somemore. He said if there's no size for Pink, he won't buy other colours (got orange and blue) for Kitty. I love this shoes too.Daddy very sayang Kitty one, he seeked Kitty's opinion on the shoes he chose for her. He hope to see a very happy girl. He accompanied her throughout when she walked all over the place to play with the toys. He was so tempted to buy the toys she kept touching but I assured him that letting her played there was good enough. We don't need that unnecessary expenditure.I know, he's trying to make up to Kitty for all the days he didn't spend with her when he worked late into the night. By the time he's back, Kitty was asleep. Before Kitty was up, he already left for work.I felt great that Sunday too. There's 20% discount + 3% discount for Isetan members on Combi products. So we only paid $30+ (usual price: $40+).I bought a swimwear and a robe for Kitty too. I heard that this kind of swimwear is better as the body won't feel that cold after the child is out of water. Nevertheless, drying the body and covered it well is still important. This Dolphin robe will sure keep her warm. I am planning to swim with her this Saturday morning before I attend the Forex Intensive Preparation Workshop at Royal Plaza on Scotts in the afternoon. Hey Kitty, get well soon so that we can go swimming.

Project BBB - T1 futile
I, NO, is EVERYBODY was shocked by the loud and high-pitched noise emitted by a huge machine beside my workplace canteen today. I was in the midst of crunching my apples and I had to cover my ears with my hands. When I ran away from my seat, I dropped my handphone, with my lunchbox still in tow awkardly. When I went back to my office toilet to do my usual after-lunch "Listerine-ing" and flossing and peeing, I see the red below. Shit, after missing my "auntie" for 6 days, I thought I had my Proj BBB done.Because of this, I started to have wild imagination. Is it becos of the fright? or becos someone anyhow talk? Blah...don't "pantan".
Pre-Project Bx3 Party
Firstly, I have decided to change the simple Project B into the meaningful Project Bx3.Considerations were taken for below:- Project BB- Project BBB- Project BYBB- Project BcubeTill things get on track... hush hush first.**************************** Back to that Foam Party at Cafe Del Mar on 28/6/08. This signifies the end of my alcohol intake except for DOM, rejection to sticks of tobacco offered by friends, overeating of salty snacks and spicy foodos.I had jugs of Vodka cranberries and a glass of Vodka Orange by and in the pool. I munched the finger-licking good Fish & Chips and Teriyaki Sandwiches on the bed on sand. For many years applying SPF 50+ on my face and body, I turned to Banana Boat Dark suntanning oil that day ONLY.When the sun is shining strongly, we rushed out and laid ourselves flat. When It hided behind the clouds, we sat up and chit chat and camwhoredNaked???Hui and I soaked in the pool when the foam started bubbling their way onto the poolwater. There were 3 caucasian girls who kept hiding inside the foam.... covering their mouth and wearing their sunglasses to protect their eyes. Often, I saw them choking after laughing in the foam. I tried to hid a bit inside but because I don't want to drench my hair, I didn't really go all out.An expat from India offered to help Hui and I with photo-taking while we self-shoot ourselves in the pool. Then we chatted. I had forgotten his name at the end of the conversation. :p An equities broker and analyst who just worked in Singapore for 3 months, stayed in Newton apartment, he offered me to join him for lunch when I was in town. But my job don't require me to travel to town and I don't think I will have that chance, that's my reply to him.I learnt from him that Bombay's working pace is faster than Singapore. I told him I know many IT specialist are from India. My ex-company I worked for, 95% are Indians, I think. He said financial sector is another upcoming field for them to fill the management here.I would like to visit India, for religious reasons, one day...When I mixed with the young and cheerful bunch, my spirits were lifted too. Marvellous. Results at the end of the day, I am not as tan as I expected. I still can pile on my original foundation for my face. I love golden tanned outlook but the aging effect on the skin is really putting me off. My freckles just multiplied under the sun. Many people still feel I am more suitable for a fair look.I am now doing cardio-exercise regularly...should include swimming too. All these are not too strenuous on my body. Healthy eating, healthy living, happy me. :)
Chee Cheong Fan Craving
Good things come after a long wait. The wait for Ben to finish work on Sunday was torturous. He compensated us by bringing us to Changi Village to have handmade chee cheong fan, newly open stalled by our friend's mum. I had cravings for her ccf since Simon smsed Ben on her stall opening 2 weeks ago.Sadly, the Porridge were sold out.Ben stopped by Changi Beach to let Kitty view the landing aeroplanes. The aeroplanes flew above our heads. Kitty's fascinated face, not blinking her eyes, was so cute. She's afraid of the loud noise and will hug her daddy tightly. We enjoyed the sea breeze, showing her the ships sailing by, the fisherman and sea waves. She learnt every word I said. She will tell my mum what she saw when I sent her to be babysit today. She's still excited about the "Da da" big big aeroplane and the "da da shen" loud noise emitted.******************************Saturday's sudden rush of getting out of the house with Kitty lead me to Orchard. We walked in 2 levels of Far East, strolling past the tattoo parlours, as usual, just to take a glance. We got sitted down at Din Tai Fung @ Wisma around 5pm to avoid the long queue at dinner time later. Finally, I tasted the famous prawn fried rice and xiao long bao. While Kitty and I were enjoying, I felt sad that darling was not there to enjoy the good food with us. He likes xiao long bao a lot, especially fresh and soupy ones.We saw 3 different actions on the road.1) A Honda Accord attempts to chase a Nissan GTR (the latest model which I love so much). I laughed behind my wheel and asked Kitty to see. Of course, the GTR just zoom of leaving the Accord still in my view.2) A group of bikes Traffic Police horned their way through Orchard Road when I was standing outside Takashimaya. I didn't see any car they are escorting but the road was cleared with them roaring down.3) A Rossi-inspired paintwork superbike with modded undertail stopped beside us at the traffic light. Kitty was attracted by it and she started waving at the rider. I was also admiring the bike and the number plate is 46 (Rossi's number) and even the font is the same as Rossi's number on his Race machine. So cool. Kitty's waving and my car colour caught the rider's attention and when he looked, I made Kitty do the funny "M1 advertisement" thumbs up to show the rider. Then we were home at night, Ben's still working. My mum asked me over to have durians they just bought. I bathed her and travelled back to my mum's place again. The lots of travelling made me really tired that night. I waited for Ben to be home and have himself washed up to accompany Kitty before I could take my relaxing bath. Long day...
Guo Mei Mei's wedding
My Da Bo's daughter got married on 29-6-08. On that day, I realised that her name is the same as a Singapore singer, Guo Mei Mei. That shows how not close are we, right? For years, I know they call her May May but I thought is just "younger sister".She has an elder brother. Wah this one worse, I totally don't know his name and he's my cousin. We never talk before. Last time, during Chinese New Year, he will just sit alone and keep quiet throughout and never play with us. Maybe we were too rowdy for him. We were just some kampung kids whereas he's rich man's son.Heard that he got married already but none of the family members was invited. Heard that he bought a private property in Bukit Timah. Heard that his parents are facing problems in their marriage.Da Bo said he knows an Indonesian guy in my company. He played golf with him frequently last time. But when I asked for the name...Da Bo can't recall. He shook his head with a glass of liquor on hand pointing to it. Da Bo aged. I told him I am just drawing a very humble pay there and he said he will "scold" to that Indonesian guy....alamak...If IG not HR big boss, I doubt he can do anything. And also I believe Da Bo was just joking. I wonder if Da Bo is still the director/ shareholder of MxxxxxLane. People who climb high also fall hard. People who play stock market face high risk if they throw in too much. I hope he will be well. This is a very precious photo because I wanted to have a pic with my mum and Kitty and my mum was groomed up that day. Gorgeous! We made fun of mum.I got myself a mysterious princess from Saudi Arabia. *rubbed hands* gonna be rich.Cousins borned in the Year of Dog were rounded up. 3 cycles of dog.My capable cousins. Tingting didn't attend...guess she's still overseas studying medical or pharmaceutical. My best cousin whom I like to stick to when young. I even helped her to tweezed armpit hairs when mine hadn't even grow. She was a great swimmer but now after giving birth to 3 kids...I think she slacked already. Also...she didn't manage to regain her petite and slim figure. But I think she's satisfied with the lots of assets she got and always goes holiday around the world and being a tai-tai.When I said "good friend", Kitty will hold us together and take photos. Gam jing sibei ho.This marked Kitty's 1st attendance to a wedding dinner.
Bamboo charcoal
DIY Bamboo charcoal drinking water at homeUsesBamboo charcoal is mainly used as fuel for cooking and drying tea in China and Japan. Most bamboo charcoal for fuel is a bamboo briquette charcoal, the rest of which is raw bamboo charcoal. Bamboo material has extraordinary micro-structure: it produces high absorptive capacity after carbonization, and becomes more effective after activation. Bamboo charcoal can be used for purifying water, eliminating organic impurity substances and smells. Drinking water sterilized with chlorine is to be treated with bamboo charcoal to remove the residue chlorine and chlorides.BenefitsBamboo charcoal is known to have high porosity. Various impurities or foreign matter will be absorbed on the wide surface area of the charcoal. When air passes, and if humidity is high, the charcoal will adsorb the moisture, and air will be converted to dry. If the air is too dry, then the charcoal will discharge its moisture, thus adjusting the humidity in the air.Bamboo charcoal vinegar is extracted when making charcoal and is used for hundreds of treatment on almost all aspects. This liquid contains 400 kinds of chemical elements and can be applied in many purposes such as cosmetics, insecticides, deodorants, food processing, and agriculture. Its functions are to expel smell, kill bacteria, keep health and to nourish facial and body skin.******************************************************************************I got this pack of bamboo charcoal at Daiso, the $2 shop. I believe they are not charcoal of 4 years and above...cos they won't be so cheap if they were. But still I tried them and make the beneficial drinking water at home.

Cue to Kill
You started the cue...Tomohiro Kato, a 25-year-old factory worker who was spattered with blood when police arrested him after Sunday's assault, was carrying two knives and had two more stashed in his knapsack in a nearby truck, a police official said. Kato apparently dropped another knife during the attack, said the official, a spokesman for the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department who spoke on condition of anonymity, citing protocol,The official said it appears Kato only used one knife to stab more than a dozen people in Tokyo's trendy Akihabara electronics district, the center of Japan's comic book and anime culture.Police conducted a search of Kato's apartment Tuesday and confiscated empty packages that had contained knives and a club. They also found catalogues and receipts for the weapons. No charges have been filed against Kato.Under Japanese law, prosecutors have 20 days after receiving suspects to either file charges or release them. The assault began when a driver crashed a rental truck into a group of pedestrians, killing three of them. He then jumped out of the truck and slashed his way through the crowd, fatally stabbing four people. Another 10 were injured. The attack horrified Japan, where news reports and talk shows have focused on what may have prompted the assault, Kato's troubled personality and a string of messages he sent to an Internet bulletin board warning he was planning to kill.Amid rising concerns about street violence, gamemaker Konami canceled three launch events scheduled in Tokyo _ including one in Akihabara _ on Thursday for "Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots," an action game in which a grizzled commando shoots and stabs his way through enemy lines.Konami canceled the events with the "safety of participants in mind," though similar events in the U.S. were to proceed as planned, a spokesman said on condition of anonymity, citing company rules. The game is stamped with a "mature" rating due to graphic blood and violence.Tokyo, with a population of 12.7 million, is considered relatively safe, with guns tightly restricted and shootings rare.Police statistics show the number of attacks involving knives on Japan's streets rising and falling over the years. The National Police Agency said there were 67 multiple street stabbings over the past decade, with the highest number _ 10 _ in 1998. There were four attacks in 2006, but that jumped to eight last year.Media reports of Kato painted a picture of an increasingly desperate young man who had recently quit his job in a fit of rage.Japanese media said Kato's Internet postings showed a man angry with society and vowing to get revenge by unleashing his fury on the streets of Akihabara.National broadcaster NHK has also shown surveillance footage of Kato purchasing hunting knives at an outdoor and camping shop two days before the attack. Kato is seen on the tape laughing with the salesman and at times making stabbing motions with his hands.A police spokesman said Wednesday that Kato had been cooperative during questioning but was clearly a very troubled person."Whenever he talked about his upbringing, he started crying," the spokesman said. Here are some of the messages posted on an Internet bulletin board linked to the man suspected in a stabbing spree Sunday that left seven dead in a crowded Tokyo shopping district: On April 20:_ 1:50 p.m. "If I could be true to my desires, I would crash into a downtown pedestrian haven with a truck. I won't do it, though."Five days before the attack:_ June 3, 10:45 a.m. "I'm alone, even neglected on the Net"_ June 3, 10:58 a.m. "Should I run over everyone who looks down on me?"Four days prior:_ June 4, 12:55 a.m. "Drop dead all winners. Then I'll be the only survivor in Japan. Ha ha."Three days before:_ June 5, 7:03 p.m. "I won't go to work any more. I'll be busy."Two days before:_ June 6, 2:48 a.m. "Desire ... murder. Dream ... dominating tabloid shows."_ June 6, 8:49 p.m. "I bought five knives."The day before:_ June 7, 4:03 p.m. "I rented a truck without a problem. I'm all set."The day of the attack:_ June 8, 5:21 a.m. "I will kill people in Akihabara. I will use my truck to hit them, and if that doesn't work I will use my knives. Goodbye everyone."June 8, 5:44 a.m. "Getting busted halfway through is the most pathetic scenario."June 8, 12:10 p.m. "It's time."UpbringingThe man behind a recent stabbing frenzy in Tokyo had a harsh upbringing by an overbearing mother who once forced him to eat off the floor, his brother said in remarks published Monday.Kato's upbringing has come under scrutiny as experts try to find the cause of the nation's worst crime in years."We had an excess of love from our mother, who believed good education leads to a good future," his younger brother told the Shukan Gendai weekly.Speaking about the family and calling Kato "that" or "culprit", he said their mother was strict, recalling one evening when Kato was around 13."The four of us were at the dinner table without saying a word as usual... Mother suddenly grew angry about 'that', spread newspaper sheets in the hallway and poured his rice, soup and rest of the meal over them.""'You eat there!,' she said."That' was crying while eating from what was piled up on the newspaper," the brother said, adding the father had just remained silent at the family home in the northern city of Aomori. The mother used to order her sons to redo homework so that it would impress school teachers, the brother said."She always cast her eye on what we wrote in what we called 'censorship'. She always sought perfection."We were ordered to rewrite if she spotted one incorrect or ugly character ... It wasn't a correction by using an eraser but trashing the entire piece of paper and starting writing again."Kato started acting violently at around the age of 15, the brother said. After entering a prestigious high school, his class rank quickly slipped as he rubbed shoulders with the region's brightest children. He felt he was losing his mother's affection."The culprit quickly realised her affection had shifted to me and misunderstood he was useless," the brother said. The brother said he saw Kato shouting to his mother: "You are dumping me!"While calling the mother's discipline "brainwashing', the brother said he later mended ties with her as she apologised."'That' must still resent our parents very strongly," he said.and they kill...Attempt # 1TOKYO - Japanese police searched Monday for a female stabber who lightly injured three women in attacks at a crowded train station in the western city of Osaka.Local police issued a public plea for information on the chief suspect, and released pictures taken by security cameras when the attacks occurred Sunday afternoon. The images show a middle-aged woman in a black dress and shoulder-length hair, her face obscured by a large sun hat.The woman is suspected of stabbing three woman from behind on a crowded platform in Osaka Station, about 400 kilometers (250 miles) southwest of Tokyo. All three had only light injuries, according to a police spokesman who asked not to be identified because he was not authorized to speak to the media. Kyodo News agency said one of the victims was stabbed in the arm.The search comes just two weeks after a bloody rampage in Tokyo by a factory worker who rammed a truck into a crowd of pedestrians and then jumped out and stabbed people at random. He killed seven and injured 10 before being subdued by police at the scene.Attempt # 2-SucceedTOKYO - Japanese police found a young girl and three other members of a family dead at their home outside Tokyo on Tuesday following a call from a man saying he had killed his entire family, a police spokesman said.Police discovered the bodies of the girl, two women and a man in Chiba, a prefecture (state) to the east of Tokyo, the police spokesman said on condition of anonymity, citing department policy."A man made an emergency call to police this morning, saying he killed his entire family," the spokesman said. The victims included a girl aged about 5, two women in their 70s and 40s, and a man in his 50s.Another man, believed to be the caller, was taken to a nearby hospital, he said. Police did not provide further details, including the causes of their deaths.Public broadcaster NHK said police found a hammer at the house, while Kyodo News agency said the hospitalized man was unconscious.Attempt # 3TOKYO - Japanese police arrested four people for allegedly threatening copycat killings online after a man posted similar messages on websites before stabbing seven people to death, officials said Tuesday."I'm sick of it all. I'm going to do it too," a jobless 29-year-old wrote on the hugely popular 2-Channel website."I'm going to kill 100 people in Ikebukuro," he said, referring to a popular Tokyo shopping district, a Tokyo Metropolitan Police official said on condition of anonymity, citing departmental policy. The suspect allegedly posted the message a day after the June 8 stabbing attack in another Tokyo district, Akihabara, the official said.Similar messages have shown up repeatedly in the days since that massacre.Attempt # 4In Hiroshima, police arrested a 19-year-old man Sunday over a message allegedly posted on June 9 saying, "That incident in Akihabara ... I will kill everyone" at a popular local shopping street, police spokesman Hideo Yamamoto said.Attempt # 5In northern Yamagata, a 29-year-old man was arrested Thursday for allegedly posting a message saying he planned to run over people with his truck. At Chubu International Airport in central Japan, a 24-year-old man was detained after allegedly vowing in a message to "stab people" at a nearby train station Monday, officials said.Attempt # 6A junior high school student was also questioned in northern Niigata after allegedly posting a note saying he would burn down a train station on June 30 and then "randomly commit murders."Police have closely monitored the Internet since the Akihihabara rampage, intensifying attention that began over suicide Internet sites that show viewers how to kill themselves by mixing household chemicals and inhaling the toxic fumes.National Police Agency is also urging knife shops to restrain from selling dagger knives similar to the one used in the Akihabara attack."We must crack down on these threats, even though many of them could be just hoaxes," said Hiroshima police official Hideo Yamamoto. The devils within are unleashed.
