my gowns Got the pictures of my gowns from Esther. We'll be going down for my final fitting on 19th May.Ed & I went to see the kua on Thursday and we love the kua and service that Janet rendered. She is running a home business in Yishun and her website is www.theredwedding.com for those who are keen. Ed got himself a black 'tang' jacket for the tea ceremony & wedding night. I got myself a 'Queen' kua - elaborated gold & silver embroidery.  The rental cost was $498 for photoshoot & actual day.  If I remembered, the price ranges of kua are from $268 to $498.I need to rant on an extremely bad service from Belinda from loe&behold (www.loeandbehold.com.sg)! She has an impressive website with great designs of shoes. I've been calling her since Sunday to make an appointment to view her shoes but there wasn't any response. Fine! I smsed her on Monday to schedule an appointment and mentioned that I would like to get a pair for my photoshoot on 22 May. She replied me on Tuesday at 11+pm that she don't entertain appointments without knowing the designs of the shoes that I want. Ok, fine. I went online and gave her 2 designs that I liked. Her reply: "I don't have the size that you want, I will have new designs coming in in Jun. If you are still keen, we can arrange again." Will you get back to her in Jun if you are still keen on her 'new' designs?? I won't!My evening gown (to be altered)My wedding gown. Aiyo.. my flabby arms and back!!!! I look damn fat!!!  I really need to lose another 1kg and work hard to tone my arms... back to blogging I'm back to blogging!!!The past few months were crazy.. and I guess it will continue to be this way from now.. But I'm happy with my work and the overseas trips to interview my candidates.. I was at Thomson wedding on Sat to select my wedding & evening gowns with Ed, esther, my bro & his gf... I was excited at the thought to don a wedding gown for the first time.  I walked in an hour late hoping to find my dream white wedding gown.  About 30 mins later, exhaustion & reality soon set in on me....  I was exhausted trying the gowns (took about 3-4) that I've dreamed to wear.... what really struck me after 30 mins was that my dream gown don't suit me at all. Everyone says that the bride must wear a white wedding gown.. but... white is not for me.. I look weird, it seems that something is wrong somewhere.. About 90 mins later, I chose an off-white wedding gown that Ed likes as it reveals my back and looks sexy on me... A wedding gown that everyone agreed I looked good.The co-ordinator reserved a pink lacey evening gown for me was gorgeous & extremely sexy (lace top without inner linings!) but Esther & Stef thought I'd look better in another gown. Indeed, when the co-ordinator took the shimmery white with black lace evening gown for me, everyone agreed that this will be THE ONE. my pink gown.........I couldn't let that gorgeous pink gown go.................. soI told the co-ordinator that I want to have the pink gown for my photoshoot! :) Too bad I don have the pix as they don allow us to take pix....Kudos to Esther though... she secretly took some pix whilst the co-ordinator was away busy selecting more gowns for me.. *muacks*The whole gown selection took 3 hours!!!! I finally selected my gowns and my final fitting will be on 19th May..My photoshoot will be on 22nd May, which is also my birthday.. *wonder if Ed will have a little surprise for me... It's time for dieting & toning up!!!!Being a Cantonese, Ed & I want to have the traditional kua during our tea ceremony. We'll be viewing the kua with another studio on Thursday as the ones at Thomson Wedding were not to my likings. I want a really traditional kua with gold embriodery that is able to fit the petite me... hopefully, I will find a kua that I like this Thurs..Shoes: I'll be making an appointment with Belinda of Loe & behold to view her shoes.. I've wanted to get a pair from her for my ROM but I didn't have the time to look for her. So this time, I must make an appointment with her to get the silver pair to match my evening gown..As for my darling jiemeis, I will need to buy the crystals for their top and arrange a mani/pedi/ lash extension party. Well, that's not the most important plan though.. I need to think of a sabotage for them on the wedding night.. hahahhaThat's all for today... They are really crazy and entertaining. My funniest and craziest Christmas party so far!!!How did I usher in 2008...Ed & I shared the same sentiments, we didn't want a place too noisy & NO booze. We wanted a simple dinner with our close friends and FIREWORKS!Ed's a sweetie.. Without fail, twice a year, he will bring me to watch the wonderful display of fireworks (New Year Eve & Lunar New Year Eve). Thanks dardar.. I've been extremely nervous and excited over the coming ROM on 19th Jan. At times, I'll be so nervous yet there will be times when I'll having jitters..Since it's a once in a lifetime affair, I've got no room for disappointment! I want everything perfect! I know I'm worrying unnecessarily coz the peeps at Tapas Wine Bistro are fantastic! They've been giving us (especially me) lots of assurance that everything will proceed smoothly... there will be sufficient booze and food to serve everyone (55 pax)! Still I don feel good... So Ed & I (requested by yours truly) will be popping by again (4th or 5th time) at Tapas this Friday! Why will i feel the jitters when I'm looking forward to the ROM???Well.. I don't know... I'm worried that I can't fulfil my duties as a good wife to Ed. I'm worried I cant fulfil my duties as a good daughter-in-law to his mum..This is worse than working ok.. I'm not as worried about not fulfilling my duties in my area of work...Ed said that I thinking too much... I'm worrying unnecessarily... Ed always say:"you silly dardar... what's there to worry?"Guess sometimes, the guys just don't understand the pressure that a lady has once they are married. Woman are expected to adhere to certain calling/ expectations to be a good wife, daughter-in-law and mum...I'm scared I'll fall short of these expectations... Yes... silly me... worrying unduly all the time...16th JanEd & I went down to the Registra of Marriage to collect our ROM cert & to take the statutory declaration..Ed was in a super crappy mood y'day! We had to fill a form that required our verification with signature. Ed & I simply signed off without thinking too much about the signature..After we're seated, Ed said:" Oh no... it states that we need to sign this same signature on the ROM cert... I signed the shortcut one le.. you?"Me:"Me too le... how ah.."Ed:"I go and take another form...."We're pretty restless while waiting for our turn...Ed:"dar... the staff working here are all very happy one.."Me:"Why le?"Ed:"Coz they see happy couples everyday... so they are happy lor."Me:"siao..."Over at the counter to the oath commissioner,Ed:"All of you working here are very happy rite..."Lady just smiled.Ed:"Coz you're all seeing happy couples... as compared to CASE.."Lady giggled.Me??? He loves his new watch.. He's like a little boy who received his new toy.. the smile on his face, the sparkle in his eyes... the little boy is here...............I told Ed tat I'll get him the other Seiko watch since he loves that too... as a V day gift...Went for lunch and to Thomson Wedding to try my dress! Love it loads! That's not all... we went to the florist to get my flower for Sat... It's really cheap! only $60.Ed got himself a Raoul shirt & tie for ROM.I got myself a pair of Gold coloured Aldo 4" heels. Coz I'm darn short.. I need the height!!Gosh... I had no intention of getting a pair of shoes from ALDO but the shop in Far East Plaza couldn't get my size before Sat! Hey, I paid a deposit coz they told me that they will get me my size.. They called to inform me that they can't get my size only last Sunday! I freaked out and Ed was extremely pissed. Coz I called them (3x) on Sat asking them for the shoes.. All the time, I was told they will revert. No calls on Sat.. They called only on Sunday at almost 5pm to inform me that they cant get my size!!!! Will not harp on it anymore... I got a pair that I'm in love and its alot nicer and higher!!! Though its alot more costly...I went home and showed my parents the shoes.. they say its nice!Mum:"aiyo.. so high..."Calling the maid over... Wishing my mum well Events that happend on 8th Dec 2008Ed & I had made several plans for today. Collect my diamond ring, make changes to the lunch menu for ROM, shop for a laptop bag for him & Coach bag for yours truly....I was on the phone arranging a time with the jeweller to collect my ring when I received a call from my brother at 10.55am. My brother called to say that my mum felt unwell and he is sending her to the hospital. I called my mum immediately and she told me that she was felt her chest area hurting and she felt weak. I received the next call from my brother telling us that what my mum experienced in the morning was heart attack! I was utterly stumped for a few seconds. My dad called moments later asking me the condidtion of my mum, I was chocked with tears that I had to pass the call to Ed. I stepped on my accelerator and was cutting lanes.. There will always be some idiots who love to road hog! Driving at 80km on the first lane! Just coz they are paying more road tax gives them the benefit to drive at their leisure pace? Ignoring my horns and beams! I reached the hospital and my brother told me that my mum is in the operating theatre now. The doctor told my brother that my mum had a major heart attack and she had 2 blocked arteries- 1 is 90% blocked and the other is 100% blocked. They are doing a 'balloon' on the 100% blocked artery as it is one of the main artery. I was devastated. Time seemed to have stopped though it was about 45 mins, it felt like hours. Mum was warded in ICU for 2 days for observation. I told myself that I must be strong and not tear when I see mum but my tears flowed the moment I saw mum lying on the bed with tubes on her. By the grace of God, mum was recuperating well and was transferred to the general ward for 2 days. The 4 days felt like nightmare to me.. I was exhausted mentally and physically but I had to put a strong front whenever I am in the hospital. Mum was crying for the days that she was in the hospital. She was concerned that she brought upon us alot of inconveniences coz we had to shutter to & fro the hospital, worried about the medical bills (doesn't help that I've told her umpteen times that the insurance will cover ALL her bills), worried that I'll be exhausted coz I had to rush home after work to cook and do the housechores.... I thank God that I bought a hospital and surgical insurance for mum a few years back though she was extremely reluctant to get one. I had to 'force' her to sign the contract even when I am the one paying for her monthly premium. Thank you everyone for visiting my mum & all the beautiful flowers, fruits basket, that added colour to her room. My friends who come and all the smses. Thank you.It has been 1 week since mum's discharge, she is recovering extremely well. She had to take lots of medicine and I know she is dreading it. I pray that the other artery will be healed completely. I will claim that in Jesus name! I know that God has sent his angels to watch over mum all the time & He has lay his healing hand on her wound. With God's grace, I managed to get a maid to care for my mum and most importantly, to do the housechores!!!!! The maid was a transfer maid hence she can start immediately. Mum is extremely pleased with the maid. We're are relieved that there is someone at home with her in the day when we're out for work. On a lighter side, Ed & I collected my diamond ring last Saturday (15th Dec). I love it! It looks fabulous after the setting. We went down to iShop as Ed wanted to change his speaker coz of arching from the adapter.. Yes.. he bought himself a iMac. He's totally obsessed with his iMac now.. Really don't understand why he wanted iMac so much when his Macbook Pro has been under utilised! We had been doing lots of silly things on our mac.. ichat, share window etc.. these are done when I'm in the bedroom and he's in the study room... crazy couple!Ed's proposal to me was done at home.. he was sweet la.. It was extremely emotional as they portrayed the difficult path to stardom of Danny Chan & Leslie Cheung. Yes.. I teared towards the end of the musical. This is a musical from Hong Kong. Shooting Stars is a tribute to the forever-missed Canto-pop stars, Danny Chan and Leslie Cheung, who suffered from drug abuse and depression respectively in their last years. This Cantonese musical features more than 40 songs from the two artists and portrays some of the common problems youngsters face nowadays, including drugs, gambling addiction and emotional instability. Gosh.. I forgot when was the last time I was chatting on the phone with Adele for so many hours..We're discussing about our ROM & Wedding next year. Well, though we can't attend each other's wedding, we are planning our wedding together.. Adele managed to get a ballroom in Raffles the Plaza for 18th Oct 2008. I know she was frantically calling hotels for availability on that date when some hotels she called are taken up. According to the 'Tongshu', it is an auspicious day for wedding.. Extremely happy for her that she has managed to get her wedding dinner venue..I was sharing with Adele about photographers and videographers, cartoon animation, montages etc for the Actual Day (AD).. Sharing with her info that I got from Ed when deciding on a PG & VG.. gave her some contacts to call for rates.. hope she can get someone soon..Next on for us, selecting our ROM dress at the end of the month. Thereafter, we'll start hunting for our shoes.. My Saturday Ed & I made an appointment with Coffee & Tea dreamworks to view their their services for our wedding. Their PG & VG works are bland.. But their cartoon animation is great!Their PG & VG will set us back by $856 (428 x 2) for their 3 hr service. Pretty steep for their standard of work. We're giving them a miss for our ROM PG & VG. Instead, we'll engage them for their cartoon animation.. As always, when it comes to photos and video, Ed will be the decision maker. Cartoon animation has never crossed my mind when planning for the wedding but Ed insists that we have some 'entertainment' for our guests during the dinner... We'll be having 2 sets of photo montage, 1 video show & 1 cartoon animation to be shown on our wedding night. Frankly, I've never heard of couples showing so many videos and photos on their wedding....1st set of photo (Ed to do) - normal montage of baby pix till courtship.2nd set of photo (Ed's fren)- our ROM pix + wedding pix (repeated playing)video show (Ed's fren to direct & edit)- I don't know the storyline as Ed is keeping me in suspense on the final product. We're still deciding if we should hold it within the ROM's premise or have an outdoor affair.. Wedding date- long story why it had to be in Oct 2008!!Ed & I wanted 12th Jul 2008. My mum kept insisting that we seek the 'advise' of a geomancer if that is an ausicious date.. Geomancer we went.. Good date it is NOT!After hearing the negative stuff of the date we wanted, we decided to have it on 18th Oct 2008. Why? Coz according to the geomancer, it is the 'most auspicious' date for the year of 2008 for weddings. Immediately after the'consultation' I called Merchant Court (Rayston is our co-ordinator) to block out 18th Oct for us. BUT that date has been taken by another couple! In the end, we settled for 11th Oct 2008 which according to the geomancer is another auspicious date for weddings..Ed & I will be meeting up with Rayston on the 23rd to confirm our wedding package.. Just read the contract from Merchant Court and everything seems quite ok. Merchant Court will have to get back to me on my request for champagne glasses on every table as they might not have enough.. Hope they will arrange something for us.. *Do look for Rayston should anyone have the intentions of having a wedding in Merchant Court. Very nice and responsible chap.I've been reading bridal magazines for references on photographers, wedding gowns, shoes etc.. I know its still more than a year but I'm excited.. so is Ed.. He has been referencing on design for our invitation cards and wedding favors. We didn't want to take the hotel's invites and wedding favors as we wanted something that is unique. Ed & I realise that the most excited people are not really us in looking forward to the wedding! It's our parents and relatives! They have been looking around for nice gowns to wear for our wedding! Both our mums have been asking around friends what is the 'procedure' and customs for the wedding.. gosh... I can't believe it!Work has always been hectic and stressful! Sales quota is always running in my head- what's my shortfall? How can I get that candidate? Who else have I not contacted? blah blah. Yet, I'm happy with what I'm doing as I get to meet and interact with candidates who are 'high flyers' and subject experts within their industry. It's similar to a match-making session.. I went grocery shopping with Esther last evening at Giant in Tampines. I can really see my 'aunty' side popping out! Esther was laughing hysterically when she saw me choosing sweet potatoes with a plastic bag. my reason? Coz its so dirty! Esther couldn't stop laughing and attempted to take pix of me in actions!! (finally after waiting for more than 1 month! Reason the sales person gave: Singapore don't carry pink for this model...)Next stop---- Went hunting for my pair of sunnies.. The day I knew her was on my b'day party at DB where we're all decked out in pink.Our friendship has progressed tremendously thereafter. Arguing where the road leads to, cracking jokes of people, peeking through the offices...We had our dinner onboard a cable car!! This arrangement came as a surprise to Ed as he NEVER expected that I'd want to have dinner on board a cable car when I'm acrophobia! With the fact that I was running a temperature on our anniversary too! This aside..Yes.. I was extremely nervous to be above!!! There was a slight drizzle but thankfully it stopped after 20 mins through our dinner. As the cable car moved off, I was praying softly that the cable car won't jerk (it did), won't stop in the middle ( it did!!), won't fall off (it didn't ;p) !!! The moment the cablecar left Jewel box I freaked out!!Ed:"dar, you not scared?"Me:"of coz, i'm scared la..."Ed:"then why did you make the arrangements for sky dining?"(oh.. when i told Ed that we're going for sky dining, he thought i meant sky diVing!! He went to the extreme of asking me does that mean that we can dive out of the cablecar?? He really really thought I meant Sky DiVing on a cablecar!! I couldn't stop laughing)Me:"Coz it's special. It's a special occasion..."Ed:"Thank you dardar. I love you.."Me:" I love you too dardar.."All these are in the private PINK cablecar, away from everyone..... I enjoyed the 90 mins that I had with Ed.Everytime, the cablecar leaves a terminal, it will jerk. I think for the first time in my 28 yrs, I was able to remain in a particular position for more than 45 mins!! When Ed moved, I told him not to make any big movements coz the cable car will start swaying left & right, left & right.. and I'm scared!!!! I'm such a coward!!!Overall, Food was great but we thought the dinner was too long (90 mins) and the candlelight too dim... but it was a good experience that we won't consider anymore.. hahah Once is good!Dardar,Thank you for accepting me as a whole. It's Thumper tomorrow!! Festive mood I've been extremely hectic at week for the past weeks.. I've had wedding after weddings to attend this month.. It was a great opportunity for me look at different ballroom settings, food & service rendered as I start scouting for Ed & my wedding.. I've fantastic friends who offered to be my wedding planners when I mentioned on engaging one.. They advised that we 'invest' the $$ for the wedding itself.. It really not worth engaging a wedding planner. Though Ed has not 'officially' proposed to me but we've been planning and looking forth to the day! I'm feel so blessed to have Ed! Ed had been telling me to curb my spendings and start saving for our wedding.. Ed:"dar, you better start saving for our wedding liao.. we need to start budgetting.."Me:"ok.. I've started saving liao.."Ed:"Good!"Me:"dar, can I have a real good splurge for this year? I saw lots of coach bag that I want to buy..I promise this will be the last that I'll be buying Coach bags till after the wedding.."Ed:"ok lor.."I love COACH bags!!! Especially this season's gold series. Bought 1 wristlet and aiming for another 2 bags.. But there are alot others that I like... There's X'mas party in the office on Fri and everyone in the office has started their little gift exchanged. I've received lots of teddies and hello kitty!! Yeah.. I've been labelled as the Hello Kitty crazed siao char boh in the office!! X'mas eve will be at Esther's place as she had ordered lots of food and spring cleaned her house, decorated her X'mas tree with red & gold. That answered why we should be wearing either red or gold to her place..On a sad note, my cousin had been diagnosed with bone cancer. He's only 13 years of age! I was totally shocked when my mum told me.. Lots of tests had to be done to ascertain his condition for now.. I really prayed that God will heal him with His healing hands to take away all the cancerous cells within him. I know God will create a miracle in him. He will come to know and accept God as his Saviour and to spread the good words of God to everyone around him.I'm really praying that God will heal him in His special ways.. 18th Jan 2007 I'm looking forward to 18th Jan 2007. It will be my 2nd year anniversary with my beloved Ed. In the midst of planning something spectacular and memorable to commerate this day where it all started from Esplande at the stroke of midnight..Well.. last Friday Ed was supposed to find his plans for the night.. but I missed him extremely that I pushed away everything and drove up to his place.. :) I was suppose to look for Jamie dearie at expo to get the Hello Kitty Hide & Seek tickets but this sweetie smsed me informing me of the massive crowd!! Ed & I ended up with our weekly routine of... MOVIE!! We scouted for some horror movie and found this korean movie 'Cinderella'. Not too bad! Worth watching! at least it DID scare us not once but several scenes.. the ending is kindda confusing though..Hectic Saturday!!! I attended Jamie's wedding at Jurong Bird park in the afternoon.. too many Jamiesssssssss huh.. This Jamie is my colleague la.. Not Jamie a.k.a pink hello kitty car.. The set up was gorgeous, over-looking the flamingoes' lake as we dine and wine.. My car got my colleagues talking.. hahaha.. "this siao charboh......" :pKelly, Ed & I went for the hello kitty exhibition at Art Museum.. Totally disappointing!! Absolute waste of time!! Luckily, we got free tickets through Jamie. if I were to pay $16.50 for less than 30 mins of 'tour', I'll curse and swear 100 times more than what I did after the exhibition!! I was totally touched by Ed's gesture accompany me though I know that he totally hates these exhibitions. Words can't express my gratitude I had for Ed.. except to MARRY HIM!!! hahah To be called Mrs Pek... oooooohhhhhhhhhhhhh......It was KTV at 10pm with Ju, Kelly, Jamie & hubby, weihao, Raymond, Ed, Ken & Esther. We had hell of a good time in the room.. The guys were singing (must be trying to impress us ladies) but we were busy photo whoring!! The camera loved us....... I'm plain lazy to upload the pictures today, I promise I'll do it over the weekends.. Sunday, Ed suggested that we pop over to Paragon for furniture shopping (actual intention is to steal some ideas).. 10am.. alarm rang.. I woke up.. turned over to wake Ed..Me:"dar.. wake up.. 10 liao.. what time you want to go?"Ed:" it's raining heavily le.."I gladly went back to sleep...11am.. auto wake up modeMe:"dar, how? wat time you want to go?"Ed:"zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz"I went back to sleep..12.30pm.. woke up coz I was hungry. Realise there was nothing to eat. Went back to the room to watch CSIMe:"dar.. 12.30 liao le.. how? you want to go?"Ed:"you want?"Me:"late liao le.. orchard alot of people le.. we go next week? We took our afternoon nap... wahahhah..6pm.. woke up.. laze around..7pm.. went downstairs to tao bao fish head curry for dinnerThis is my typical lazy Sunday!! Just to be lazy with my dardar.. I'm planning for X'mas party at Esther's place on 24th Dec.. I'll be getting the X'mas goodies.. yummy... It's red & gold X'mas theme at Esther's place.. I don't know when I lost it and how I lost it.What's worse is that the sunglass was a gift from Ed last yr!!!! And Oakley no longer carry the series that I want!!! Why am I so careless?? How did my sunglass drop out of the car??!!?!First it was my nokia bluetooth and now... my oakley...I want to cry!! How I wish I was 24! Of coz, Ed was not smiling when I reached his place at 11.30pm and told him that I'm going to DB...
