Happy CNY Joe Lee!
Yep i saw her video!
I think it’s really cool that she’s doing this. I like this gal! She really knows how to hold her head up high and continue doing all what she does, unafraid and right into the face of all the criticism and bad press and obstacles she’s faced. Real cool!
I definately applaud the condom company sponsoring such ads. Think its a great way to outreach to kids.
Although i was sooooo tempted to post some video response to add it some of the stuff she’s missed in her video, i recognised that in this sort of videos, to grab people’s attention, having too much detail may be counterproductive
I think both this sort of quick ads, & also posters , magazine ads etc need to be put forth side by side formal education.
NGOs obviously don’t have the resources for such adverts, and the day MOE does I’ll go buy lottery. So its really great that condom companies with the resources, and which stand to benefit from condom sales, do such ads
Formal classes are needed still, to provide comprehensive info and skills. Advertisements hopefully motivate people to practice the skills they learn in class. Formal classes shouldn’t also be the one off classes like the kind AWARE used to provide, but should be sustained, repeatitive and long term.
Hopefully MOE sees the rationale & implements this. In the meantime, we’ll continue to campaign to these authorities. Remember, at the end of the day, successful NGOs are not out there to make a roaring business out of their classes. Successful NGOs get policies implemented so that formal education systems provide these classes. And NGOs are not just the organisational entities that can be shut up-ped : instead, NGOs are made up of people who will find more ways and means to get their messages through, who will find new platforms when the old one is lost. As long as the people remain committed and alive, the campaigns continue! =D

Happy CNY!!!
Look at it this way, the inequality perhaps exists by design because the gahman believes that it serves as motivation in their meritocratic system. Why do you think they worsen it by paying millions to the ministers? I heard nowadays in gahmen linked companies tens of millions for CEO bonus is the norm. The gahman wants this inequality because they stand to gain from it.
On a separate note. While you have been disallow from teaching CSE these days, Ris Low is has been made safe-sex ambassador for a condom company. Not too sure if she is qualified since she claims she is still a virgin. Safe sex is boomz and unsafe sex is shingz….is her message no need for hour long lectures for the gen-z youngsters.

“in 1991, the Population Planning Unit set the absolute poverty line at $510 for a four-person household living in a one-room flat. An estimated 38,000 households fell below this minimum household expenditure level”
4 persons on $510 even back in 1991? *shudder*
