Remember the last time I spoke about Tiger Airways charging baggage fees? The initial thought was that I thought the amount [...]
Awful experience at Waraku Pasta @ Marina Square
Trying to book a tix online on Tiger Airways. Nowadays booking is so tedious because they charge for almost everything. Luggage weight cannot exceed, otherwise you pay. I’m going to write a post on this again…
Didn’t have time to post something online. Even the previous post was in my draft folder supposedly to be posted [...]

I am not happy.
While I try to put on a brave front.
I am a lady after all. Just a human after all.
No Monday blues
I’m still feeling full at this time of the nite (10.35pm) and I didn’t even have a proper dinner.
I thought it was supposed to be quite a boring day today coz Malaysia’s closed for holiday in lieu for their Merdeka. Ya right. All because I forgot about the darned report.
CEO said to lunch out today [...]
A Sunday with no hot sun
The weekend is always so short. I felt like I did nothing at all and it’s Monday tomorrow!
I used to like Sundays a lot because it’s always sunny. I used to believe that Sundays were called SUNdays for a reason. But it didn’t really seem like that for the past 2 weeks.
And because [...]
The 2 poses of Caramel
I read somewhere that neutered dogs tend to live longer than those not. It boils down to the issue that un-neutered dogs are more prone to cancers of their reproductive organs and such.
Really have to do this?
Caramel hates photo taking. He is camera sensitive and whenever he realises that a camera is in the vicinity, [...]
Something cute
I felt like a money changer today. Only thing is that, I get no commission from it.
Met up with JG to pass some CDs of songs to him which he’ll play over at his wedding next weekend. He passed me something quite cute.
A very nice looking keychain which you can dress up in [...]
Impression in the purses
I didn’t realise that COMEX took up the whole of Suntec Convention Hall until I went there last nite. Big affair! No wonder the areas around Suntec and Marina Square jammed like siao. It was horrible traffic.
I didn’t really go into the COMEX, because I didn’t have anything to look for, and the main objective [...]
Dream analysis
To dream that you car has been stolen, indicates that you are being stripped of your identity. This may relate to losing your job, a failed relationship, or some situation which has played a significant role in your identity and who you are as a person.
Sounds true, coz I feel like I’m losing direction. But [...]
Money matters
What exactly happened? That I duno. But the days of being on tenterhooks might now be over. And we might see the last of her in another month’s time.
Kids nowadays sometimes make me wanna slap their faces.
I was at this place buying some titbits and scotch tape and was going to pay for my purchases. [...]
In the end, still…
Just 5 strange facts to share:
Over 10,000 birds a year die from smashing into windows. (wah!)
Human thigh bones are stronger than concrete. (anyone wanna try this and tell me if it’s true?)
A cockroach can live several weeks with its head cut off - it dies from starvation! (Freaky!)
The sentence “The quick brown fox jumps over [...]
It’s going to rain again…
I fixed my twitter feed. I know everyone’s on plurk nowadays but still, I fixed my twitter feed. [see sidebar] —>
This is so boring…
Been raining for the past 2 days and that makes it lazy (and inconvenient) to go out. And it’s going to rain again now.
I was shivering in the bathroom this morning. Damn. [...]
Time out on weekend
Mustafa is still as crowded as ever. I would love to shop there if I’ve got the time on Friday.
It’s been a long time since I’ve stayed up so late, like till 4am?
Oh ya, I got my G9 Ikelite housing already.
Met up with WK, KT, WL, & AC with G for a North Indian buffet [...]
Issues on a Friday
It was the first time that my heart beat so furiously when talking to the CEO this morning, wondering what lies in store after he knows what had happened.
Oh wells, I was spared of the scolding. Although I had an extra responsibility, it felt more like it was bestowned on me. At least there won’t [...]
Exclusivity
Tomorrow da bao bread for breakfast. Coz most probably tio bua butter.
Hectic day at work. Duno how long can tahan. Thought I could go home peacefully at 6pm, never expecting a big bomb to drop on earth and shatter the silence.
Can’t get into details, being work. But really 害人不浅.
*getting my butt ready for [...]
Frustrated
Pls stop asking me where the CEO is!!
Getting frustrated. 3 times. People asking me where is the CEO and whether he is coming in or what time he is flying. WHY CAN’T YOU PEOPLE JUST CALL HIM?
Everyone is in a bad mood, tempers are flying, and everything seems to be getting on my nerves.
I’ve been [...]
Random ramblings
Must try to sleep early. Now my eyes are hurting because I left the contact lens in there and it isn’t the most comfortable pair around. Thankfully it’s the last pair.
Been busy. Not at work. It was stressful instead. With all the fluctuations and such. Might be running into problems soon.
And so I don’t want [...]
Weekend regurgitation
Always check your blindspot. This morning, I saw a car that was nearly squashed like a burger patty because he didn’t check his blindspot. Hey! Signalling doesn’t mean you can just change lanes immediately!
Was away from my computer the whole weekend, coz I was formatting it to split the disk into 2 to run the [...]
Gut feel
The market is having a diarrhoea now. Very very bad diarrhoea. So bad that it’s becoming scary.
Apparently Singapore is taking the lead over South Korea in table tennis (at time of writing). Li Jiawei weakened a bit and lost her single round but luckily their doubles set was a win.
*As I write this entry we [...]
Blur to the first degree
This morning contemplating to drive my sis’ car or my car. Ended up driving my own car.
Our tealady is on leave today. So we get our own drinks this morning. Thought a cup of Early Grey with granola bar would be nice.
No wonder it looked so fine…I put salt in my cup of Earl Grey. [...]
Not so scrumptious 7th month dinner
Back from a rather boring 7th month dinner. Now dead tired.
Nowadays I keep feeling full at times of meals but super hungry when I’m not eating. Sounds like an oxymoron ya? Aye, in other words, weird feeling.
Dinner tonite - the most spectacular one was dish #2. So starchy. Might as well. Lesser died for a [...]
Morning rush
Busy, busy, busy, busy, busy morning. Taking a break from it.
I overslept again, and I swear that the alarm didn’t ring at all. I think I cannot rely on my BB phone alarm now. Been oversleeping several times this year on using this phone as alarm. My old SE which is illiterate now (cannot see complete words on the screen now) is still the best and reliable loud-hailer.
Thought it looked kinda bright for a 7am (though it was pretty cloudy today too), and took a look at the phone. Shit, 8am. And doesn’t help that due to my lethargy the nite before, I didn’t prepare my clothes in advance.
Showered, ironed my clothes, grabbed my breakfast (which I have yet to finish at this time of 12pm) and rushed off.
The worst thing to happen is that I couldn’t find the bra I wanted to wear. Another one had 2 different coloured straps. What the heck happened to the other 2 different coloured ones??
Went to do treasure hunt, finally gave up and wanting to wear strapless, when I thought I go do a last search at my mum’s wardrobe after futile attempts at my sisters’ cupboards.
Voila. There it is. And my mum is erm…more well endowned than me. How the heck did it end up there? Different size leh.
Anyway, rushed on the roads. Stupid P-plater on the 1st lane travelling between 70-80km/h on a 90km/h road. Can’t switch lanes too because the other one got one which can only travel max 60km/h. So the whole trail of cars following closely behind this goondu who didn’t even realise the LOOONNNGGGGG stretch of cars behind him. Best thing is, we are all horn-friendly.
Wei! Keep left unless switching lanes leh!
Reached office finally at 8.50am. I start work at 8.30am. Saw my colleague also walking into the building. Haha. Nice.
And the day starts all over again…
Short thrills
Time to lose weight.
I am so freaking lethargic today. I know that if it’s not the office, I would have just slept there and then. Even at dinner I felt like in Dubai. Having dinner and trying not to fall asleep, and in the Dubai’s case, due to time difference.
What’s wrong with me?
Better sleep early tonite.
And you say Singaporeans are ungracious?
This angmoh driver of a silver Nissan Murano SGP4132J is a complete asshole for trying to cause an accident and pointing his middle finger at a lady.
And may I also add that he laughed at me when I passed and stared at him.
Fucking bastard.
Just because you have a bigger car you think that everyone is scared of hitting your car.
Just because you think you are a foreign talent you think that you are superior than others.
Just because you are a guy and you think ALL lady drivers are bad drivers.
Be careful, dun laugh and choke.
Be careful, watch where you are walking.
Be careful, you are not in your country.
Be careful, of karma.
No off in lieu for me today
Morning meeting for everyone of us. Difficult times ahead of us.
The morning traffic was smooth as cream. I could manage a 80km/h at this underpass which I usually go at 20km/h with halting.
I reached office before 8.20am, and considering my records, it’s pretty early.
Then I realised that the kids are off school and some companies are closed because of the holiday in lieu. That explains.
Anyway, nothing dramatic at work today. I wrote a cheque wrongly coz I wasn’t familiar with it (Malaysian bank cheque) and the way it was told to me was a bit unclear. Wasted the CEO’s money. I actually made a mistake in the wordings in one of his earlier cheques, coz I missed out the ‘thousand’ part. I actually wanted to leave a note for the CEO (he was returning from a trip) saying “Oops, sorry. My mistake” but it sounded a bit tongue-in-cheek, and I wasn’t so sure of his mood that day to be too informal, so I ended up without the “oops”.
I think the CEO is a bit sarcastic recently. A bit naggy too. Heh. For some issues which he kept harping on today and no wonder it was too much for someone.
I nearly had an accident this evening after work. Actually this area seems like an accident-prone site for me, for I have seen plenty of bangs along this road. So I kept a bit of longer-than-the-usual distance between my car and that in front. True enough, there was sudden braking from someone in front, resulting in defensive braking from the motorists behind, including me.
The brake wasn’t so bad, and the lady behind me did manage to brake in time, though we were quite close too. Then I suddenly hear a BANG.
She was hit in the behind, and fortunately for the ‘enough’ distance between our cars, I escaped unscathed.
I could see the ‘oh shit‘ expression she gave in the mirror. But I drove off since the cars in front had moved on.
I was this close. Yet not that close.
Thank goodness.
Trekking day - Belongas Bay
This is the last section of the South Lombok, Belongas Bay trip. It was a nice getaway, albeit the shredded hand. It was not difficult to have your healthy portions of veggies/fruits per day, meals are always yummy (and not because we are hungry) and it was one of the trips that made me exercise more than usual.
The last day of diving was also trekking day for us, because…we had nothing else to do? Or just needed to while the time away?
Nay…to get reception for the phone. It was quite unexpected that there won’t be reception for the phone, coz no one said anything. Plus I kept having bad dreams during the nites, so I thought better call home to check that everything is ok.
And so, got to the top of the hill…no reception for my BB! Useless shit.
So I had to borrow the phone from G who’s got almost perfect reception. I’m always thankful that I usually do not need to use the phonebook to get numbers. Department colleagues numbers, everyone in the family hp numbers…all in my mind.
Mission accomplished, we started our journey back to the resort, also to be in time before darkness falls. And dinner. I was starved.
But not without taking some momento images.
Beautiful sunset pictures
And so, this marks the end of the Lombok trip.
Now to look forward to the Bali trip next month.
Rockabye baby…
Sighz. It’s Monday again. However, it was good on the roads this morning because I think the kids are off from school today.
I found a new type of sleeping pill. Wokay, not a pill per se, but something that induces me to sleep.
I’ve been reading The Economist recently. I’m unfortunately not so into current affairs, but I’m quite curious in what they are talking about there. I got a copy of it when they sent it to the CEO free, and being a super busy man, he returned it back to me. So I thought, why not do some reading?
I like. But trust me, it’s not meant to be a mockery when I said that it lulls me to sleep.
I’ve been reading it before bed for the past few nites, that’s why the thing about getting me to sleep. Well, reading gets me sleepy, only in this case faster than reading a novel, because it’s mostly serious in there.
I think I’m a fan now.
Review: Journey to the Centre of the Earth
I kinda realised that my weekends seem to be rather packed and I’m most of the time, on the roads.
I watched an awesome movie on Saturday evening: Journey to the Centre of the Earth.
SF, who watched the other Brendan Fraser movie (The Mummy) on Thursday agreed that this was better. At least 30%. And so with that, I guess that I will skip that show.
Being the national holiday, the theatre was packed with kids at the 6.35pm show. Thankfully, no kids made a commotion to interrupt the movie.
You could feel the excitement in this, with all the obstacles they faced throughout the journey. They started off with the faith that the book (with the same title) was real and that they wanted to find out what exactly happened to the brother/father when he suddenly disappeared.
Some part of it felt like a video game, and when they got to what they say, the centre of the Earth, it was a bit unbelievable. But a show being a show, that’s that.
This one, you need the big screen to watch it properly. Ya know what I mean?
Olympics 2008 @ Beijing
Just finished watching the opening ceremony of the Beijing Olympics.
The secret is finally revealed. Li Ning was the one who lighted the torch at the event.
The Singapore entourage really took some time to appear from the march-in contingent. But the most impressive part was the passing of the torch to the final light up. Li Ning did a good job of ‘running’ in mid-air against the background while the Chinese scroll, unscrolled. Pretty spectacular, and other than being brave enough to be swung in mid air, the physical condition has to be tip-top too.
Well, that’s what they say, save the best for last.
Welcome to the opening of the 16-day event!
