Packing for KL again Once again packing my clothes and getting ready to head over to KL for another round of fire fighting. Seriously I hope this will be my last trip there as flying week after week is killing me... I am starting to feel tired and really restless especially after the flight.Not to mention my temper is also getting from bad to worst! Was being told by my manager that I am needed to go over to KL to support and assist my Malaysia Team here in their project last thursday just when I touch down in Singapore from my trip to US. If you ask me I am still suffering from jet lag and now got to travel again but luckily this time is to KL so at least not that bad. I know US wine are not very popular here in Singapore but you never know till you taste them.And Grand Junction being one of the few best places in US to produce very good wines it was definitely one of the stops which we must stop by. The drive there was not very long cos since it was just about 15 minutes drive plus throughout the time we were introduced to Grand Junction by our very professional guide cum host Eric.Soon we reached our destination and of cos not wasting time we took a some pictures (and man was it hot in summer) and proceed on to our wine tasting (yum yum). Ya I bought 2 bottles of wine (2003 red and 2007 peach)Let me do some promotion here on my glasses I was not using sunshades instead the expensive transitions lens, seem just how cool it was compared with the normal sunshades Loren and my wife were using.----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one At Grand Junction & Visit to Hot Spring - Day 3 and 4 Going to combine the next 2 days of activities into 1 post as for day 3 basically were days for us to recover from our jet lag as well as to settle down into my wife's friend home in Grand Junction. As for day 4 it was the day where we started our tour and as a first stop we travel to a well known Hot Spring in Glenwood Springs.As photos were not allowed in the Hot Spring area hence what you will get to see here are just photos which we took as we travel to Glenwood Springs. As Grand Junction and Glenwood Springs were part of Colorado which is mainly a mountain region hence most of the photos we took only show the different rocky mountains (dun worry nicer mountains are coming in the next few posts).----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one At LA & Denver Airport - Day 2 After an almost impossible flight from Taiwan to LA we reach!!! But too tired to even think and we got to wait for another 8 hours in LA before catching our next flight to Denver.So what to do in LA you ask well since it was already 8pm all we did was to grab some burgers (US Size of cos) and wait till the United counter is open before we check in. Sound cool? Well it should be except that we had to wait for 6 more hours till 4am before we can check in and 2 more hours after that before the plane fly to Denver.In Denver well it is once again waiting and waiting as our next flight to Grand Junction got delayed for a freaking 3 hours!!! For those who did not manage to get the tickets (unless you are a SAFRA member else most likely you will not be able to get any tickets at Tiong Bahru GV) well there are my stars like Pierre Png, Andrea De Cruz, Yvonne Lim and Patricia Mok who were invited to the event and Andrea was so pretty (dun worry Pierre I am already married so I know my limits). Anyway other than seeing the stars, there are also people who parade around in Batman, Joker and even Batgirl costumes. Too bad as there were just too many people else I would had taken a pic with Batgirl!Anyway back to the movie... After dinner we spend the next 1 hour 30 minutes window shopping around becos our tickets stated the 9.00pm and me and my wife was like there at around 6.30pm! Lucky time pass by quite fast and soon it was 8.45pm... bought our Popcorn, drink @ $5.50 and time to head in for our free movie. As with other events Goodies bags were already place on each seat (no wonder the show start at 9pm) so not a bad deal if you ask me. Movie started and as usual the same story line where first the good guy was at the disadvantage and toward the end suddenly the good man was on the winning side and everything was back to normal again (except with some people being "killed" in the movie). To me the most touching and interesting part of this movie was when a convict actually tell the officer that he (the convict) know that he (the officer) also wish to live and that he (the officer) can just say he (the convict) stole his gun (officer's gun) and threaten him (the officer) to pass him (the convict) the detonator to blow up the other ship full of civilians. In the end the convict got hold of the detonator and threw it out of the window. (Sorry for those who could not understand what I am trying to write about cos kind of hard for me who had no story writing experience to write how the actors emotions out). Yes although the name of the guild sound rather evil but this is actually a very kind and helpful guild with very fun people from all around the world.I will continue to be involve in Holic for some time since I had just join the guild only so still need to slowly climb up the ladder with my wife. Also just a note if you are interested in meeting either me (StormCatcher) or my wife (StormRider) you will need to select server 2 as we will be playing on server 2 mostly (partly also becos most of the guild members are in server 2 too).So hope to see you in the world of Holic.----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one Advice for NSman Due to recent deaths related to SAF training, all instructors had been instructed to carry out effective but yet safe training for all personals (NSF and NSman). During my IPT sessions the PTI (Physical Training Instructor) were all very concern over our safety and every now and then will ask if everything was fine and if we could not take the training we should sound out or at least slow down our own training pace to suit our health.However it takes 2 hands to clap hence even if SAF were taking extra effort in ensuring that our safety as NSman were taken care of we must also take the extra step in ensuring that we do not go over our own limit. Everyone has a physical limitation and we are the only ones who know it best. Let me quote an example from what happen yesterday during my IPT training.Yesterday we had our most siong training where we had to run a total of 5km non stop after 3 rounds of circuit training. I know 5km may sound abit too much for NSman who had no previous preparation to start immediately but trust me being Nsman we all somehow manage to survive the run (by eating snakes here and there). The problem was not during the run but rather what happen after it. In the changing room while we were about to go off one of the fellow Nsman (maybe becos he is too hungry) ate some food and while he was changing he puke!So as an advice to all Nsman out there do not start running on an empty stomach nor with a too full stomach and after a long run do not take in any solid food immediately but to cool down first and take some soft or fluid food. Remember Nsman should value their own safety more as we all had families and friends waiting for us outside of camp hence not worth risking our health and safety in camp activites.----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one Family - Nice Clip Something which I find pretty nice and touching to share with you. Guess I need to train up myself more if I wish to stay fit and be able to get some $ from SAF and to free myself from all the pain and suffering.For those of you who do not know what IPT is well it is a 1 month long program which prepare you for IPPT (if you do not know what IPPT is then you dun have to worry about what IPT is) and during this 1 month training you will be expose to the various static training to improve or at least maintain your current health status and if possible achieve a pass or silver award in the IPPT.For those who think that IPT is an escape for RT (RT a 2 month long program for those who failed IPPT) you are wrong man. RT training is slightly more relax and you get to go off earlier. For IPT the training is more intense and you got to go off later. So unless you really thinking of improving your IPPT status or your current health status else dun take IPT cos it is tough and tiring (I believe what I am experiencing now is enough to justify that).Now in office I think I will just sit back and relax for a while before starting work...----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one Playing MMORPG... Slacking time Slacking is my cup of tea I had to admit as lately (over the weekends) I had been slacking so much that I did not even blog at all! Thing like scratching of the groin, head and body are part of this style. Not the most elegant style but confirm the most entertaining. When fighting against a Monkey Style you just need to remember this golden rule "Monkey See, Monkey Do". What this mean is just copy exactly how your enemy perform his Monkey Style and you will be able to counter it. This is because Monkey Style users tend to be irritated once someone copy all their movements and lose focus.Northern Praying Mantis Style (Tang Lang Quan 螳螂拳), follow the form of a Praying Mantis. Famous for its deflect and attack swift movements, this style is said to be fast and yet sharp. Do note that the footwork for this style is borrowed from Money Style hence one might actually see some common areas. When fighting against a user of such style try to attack in group of 3 with one directly in-front facing the user. This is becos although fast and sharp a weak point to this style is that it could not defend well against attacks to its side hence as long as it is concentrating on the front, its side are open to attacks. Of cos if all fails just spray the user with some Baygon (at the end of the day Praying Mantis is still an insect).Tiger Style (Hu Quan 虎拳) as the name applies follow the likes of a tiger. Famous for being one of the most powerful of all the animal styles this style is greatly learn by many but only few mastered the true juice of it. For those who do not well it downgraded to a less aggressive style call the Cat Style which seem to be only commonly practise by ladies. When fighting against Tiger Style just stay cool and dun fight back. Yup dun fight back and you will win cos Tiger is going to extinct soon so just wait and it will be gone :)Snake Style (She Quan 蛇拳) follow the movement of a snake and it one of the least practised style due to this nature association with snake. A silent killer that based on whip power and only attack weak spots like eyes, groin and joints. When fighting against one bring a flute and start blowing it to charm the snake. You might even be able to convert snake style to snake dance.Crane Style (He Quan 鶴拳) one of the most elegant style of kungfu which follow the grace of a crane is the one of only style I would recommend for ladies since the founder is a a lady. A popular close combat fighting style which concentrate on joints spots is an accurate and fast style. I am quiting 9Dragons and this time not becos I am tired of the game but rather of something rather technical. Remember I used to post something on how to run 9Dragons on Vista becos that time there are many problems getting the game to run on Vista hence I did some research and share my findings.This time I am using XP and my wife using Vista and yes you guess it right... 9Dragons now work perfectly on Vista and not on my XP system... In a period of just 2hours I had to manually closed the game application 4 times with each rebooting my system. That is just how serious the game actually crash my system. Not only that but it also affected my system audio, my task manager and my overall system health.So final decision... Uninstall 9Dragons and delete the installer for good. Of cos knowing the nature of my job and that I cannot use a phone that is too fancy (mainly becos of personal preference and also becos it is not too "right" to be picking up a call from a phone that is so fanciful) I choose a colour that not only show elegence but also class and hence you have it Song Ericsson K660i, Wine on Black edition.The photo which you see below is the exact model (in term of colour as well) as the one I am using. Kind of like it since it is light, easy to handle and the keypress is similar to Samsung hence not much trying to figure out what to press when it come to typing SMS. Now only worry is becos I will be using a new 3G sim card and that had not been activiated yet so till now got to carry the new sim card until the old one stop functioning anytime soon.----------------------------------------To be or not to be, there can be only one Microwaved Water Something my friend send to me which I feel that it is pretty interesting to share with you guy. You must read this if you use to heat up your cup of coffee or water in a microwave. For safety reasons do not heat any cup of water for more than two minutes.Microwaving Water!A 26-year old man decided to have a cup of coffee. He took a cup of water and put it in the microwave to heat it up (something that he had done numerous times before). I am not sure how long he set the timer for, but he wanted to bring the water to a boil. When the timer shut the oven off, he removed the cup from the oven. As he looked into the cup, he noted that the! water was not boiling, but suddenly the water in the cup 'blew up' into his face. The cup remained intact until he threw it out of his hand, but all the water had flown out into his face due to the build up of energy. His whole face is blistered and he has 1st and 2nd degree burns to his face which may leave scarring.He also may have lost partial sight in his left eye. While at the hospital, the doctor who was attending to him stated that this is a fairly common occurrence and water (alone) should never be heated in a microwave oven.
