My Semi-Big Day I’m sure all my friends know that I’m preparing for my semi-big day, ever since I bought a house, this must follow right. I called it my semi-big because strictly speaking, the big day is still more than 1 year from now. Dear friends, My ROM is set to be on the 7th Sept, 八月初八2008年。Sorry that I’m unable to invite you all since it’s just a small lunch reception with my relatives. But you will definitely be invited for the dinner next year. So start saving now! Kure-nai Kure-nai, a new anime which I came across accidentally. Only 12 episodes but quite interesting. It reminds me of darker than black and Aishiteru baby. It seems like a combination of the two. Proposal Daisakusen SP Oh… really sweet…. If you had watched the japanesse drama Proposal Daisakusen, also known as Operation Love, be sure not to miss the special episode. It really rounds up the drama well! Where is my key pouch? I can’t believe it myself either… I looked up and down my room, into all my bags and drawers… When I finally gave up, I found it in my FRIDGE!!!! Red LED light in the train Image yourself in a super packed train. So packed that you can only look at the floor. Then you see a red LED light on the floor. You look up, trying to find its source. Nope, it’s not coming from the top. You traced the light and found that the light came from a plastic bag. A man was holding onto that bag. Hmm… what is the first thought that come to your mind? BOMB!!! Yeah, till now I’m still wondering what device would produce red light… Updates Work has been picking up at a really high speed. I found myself spending a larger portion of my time writing  and replying emails. Can’t really settle down and concentrate on my development work. Too many questions to answer and too many things to clarify with users. I may sound like I’m complaining but in fact I still enjoyed my work. I enjoyed interacting with users and at the same time do some development work. Will be real busy over the next few weeks, because 2 big task happen to clash. Besides work, I’m also busy with finding a tenant for my new flat. After much filtering, we finally found one. I didn’t expect myself to be able to find Singaporean tenants, so I’m really happy to rent to them. Although the rent is considered low, we can still save some money for the renovation next year. => Soul eater - Death the Kid Did you realize that the voice of Death the Kid is the voice of Tamaki in Ouran, Light in Death Note and Zero in Vampire Knight? Ha, I think he (Mamoru Miyano) has a very unique voice. ただいま！ I’m back from my dream country …. Japan!!!! Although it is my first time to Japan, the highlight of my trip is Hokkaido and not Tokyo. I joined the tour group and had super good food every day, every meal! We also had a hardworking and responsible tour guide. It is a disappointment that the weather was not good. I didn’t get to see Mount Fuji in kawaguchi or the world no 3 night scene in Mt Hakadate. I’m glad they understood my japanese and proud of the fact that I made an effort to communicate with them. Ha, it’s really fun! The trip can be summarized with the following: Crab (Enormous, incredibly long legs) Food (Every meal is 200% full) Hot Spring (Embarrassing) Shrine Disneyland (Almost every youngsters has a mickey mouse hair band) Toilet (super clean and high tech) My Desktop Just feel like sharing with everyone the cute little toy on my office desktop. The acrobatic mouse riding on the red wooden horse. The acrobatic mouse is a gift from my dear while the wooden horse is a gift from my boss. He said it is meant to remind us of our Swedish root. I’m glad that the working culture in Singapore office is relatively similar to the Swedish office which I really like. Soul Eater ep6 Absolutely hilarious!!! Soul Eater has become my favourite anime in this season. Action packed, colourful, funny and exciting. But my favourite character is still Death the Kid. Soul Eater ep4 Don’t you think the creator of this anime is very creative? Look at the art work! Soul Eater An interesting anime with very vibrant colors! Kind of childish, but good if you need to relax your brain after a day at work. xxxHOLiC Kei The season 2 of xxxHOLiC is out! This time it is named xxxHOLiC Kei. If you have read the manga, I’m sure you know about the exciting episode of Watanuki losing his right eye… yeah, it’s all in this season! 五月天 - 回到地球表面！ Woh woh! Super good concert! Non stop for more than 3 hours! The most worthed-while concert I’ve been. Everyone’s jumping, I wonder why I need to buy a seat. Dear took lots of pictures during the concert. Here’s his post. Updates I realized I have not blogged for a long long time… So what have I been doing, besides writing complaint letters? … I was busy with my course work, (reports and term papers), and also sourcing for the ROM and banquet venue. Now finally everything is more or less settled! Dear friends, if you have plans to get marry next year or ROM this year, better book early. We had a difficult time looking for the venue even though we are 1.5 years early. The problem we had is that we did not want to hold our wedding in a hotel. We thought the high class ones were too expensive and the mid range ones were not as good as restaurants… So we focused our search on restaurants. Fortunately we found a restaurant which fits most of our criteria last wee. Beer, chair cover, invitation card, carpark coupon, wine, door gift, decorations… are included in the package. As for the ROM venue, if you want to hold it in a private function room, do remember to book early. We are 5 months early and yet many of our shortlisted restaurants were already booked. Anyway, I felt relieved now that the venues are settled. I guess I should give more attention to my last exam now… Yeah!!!! It will be my last paper! No more night classes! Hurray! Complaint to StarHub This is my latest complaint letter, written out of anger. “ Dear Sir/Madam, I’m really curious about the billing/account systems in Starhub. I’m utterly impressed with how long Starhub takes to return some the credit amount to your customers. We, the customers are given 10 days to pay our bills, but Starhub took more than 3 months to process a simple cheque to return to their customers. My last bill is in January 2008. I paid the full subscription fee although I terminated the MaxOnline services in the middle of the month. Just to make sure, I gave a call to the hotline and was assured that they will send me the credit amount via a cheque after 2-3 weeks. Then after more than 1 month, nothing came. So I called again on the 16th March 2008. Then I was told that they had overlooked and will process the cheque immediately and told me to wait for another 2-3 weeks to get the cheque. Ok, I understand that I’m no longer a StarHub customer, so I was given lowest priority. But doesn’t StarHub understands that I had become your POTENTIAL customer now? Anyway, I waited patiently again. 6th April 2008, I called again and was told that the cheque has been processed and will be sent out soon. When asked how soon is soon, I was told that it will take at least a week. If I didn’t receive by next week, call the hotline again. So exactly HOW long is required for Starhub to process a cheque? (I’m worried about your business processes) How can you expect your customer to pay the bill within 10 days when you took more than 3 months to process a cheque? A word of advice, customers left for a reason and you don’t have to reassure them that they had made the right choice. Complain and complain. New office! I’ve moved! Not to my new house, but to my new office.  Thankfully, I’m still in town. I like my new office, it’s big and spacious, new, clean etc. Most of the facilities are ready. But we are missing something really important. Water and Internet! Ha, so now I’m at StarBucks, checking my mail, transferring files etc and blogging. (Yesterday we were at Mac) So can you imagine the whole lot of us just walked into Starbucks, order a coffee, sit down and switch on our laptops… I thought it’s kind of funny. Now, I really appreciate Wireless@SG. Detective Conan Live Action - Movie 2 Just watched the movie 2. Eh… I think I still prefer to watch the anime. =p Do mi so Do2 - Announcement Ha ha ha… I found a flat!!! Totally different from what I planned a year ago… But no choice, can’t afford to stay in Bishan with the current crazy property market. Kekkaishi Final Wow… this time we get to see Yoshimori’s Zekkai. It is very much bigger than Masamori’s one. Ha, Yoshimori got a tight slap from Tokine, but also a hug from her. I hope there’s a second season… Kekkaishi 36-37 Ahhh….. why why why…. Gen Shishio is dead! Ah… he’s my favourite character! I’m sure this episode is the turning point. Kekkaishi Ep 29 Oh my god! This is by far the most exciting episode! Yoshimori’s hidden power… Gen Shishio’s dark past… And the super powerful ayakashi. Wow!!! Island Ship Wow. Super creative. This time they have entered a zombie island which is actually a ship itself. Kekkaishi Thanks to berowl, I finally found a good anime to watch! Unlike Naruto, which is full of fillers and the irritating Sakura, Kekkaishi has fighting scenes every episodes. There are many types of power-user in the story and most importantly, the main characters discover their power and improve their techniques gradually. I’m at episode 23 now, where the story is getting more interesting now with the new character Gen Shishio. It’s definitely worthed watching! Valentine’s 2008 Today dear dear and I took half day off and celebrated Valentine’s day. Instead of candle light dinner, we had a simple but delicious lunch at 店小二. Guess where we spent our afternoon? Yes! Singapore’s famous tourist attraction - Sentosa! Yup. We went to the flower exhibition. And this is my present. A bear especially designed by dear dear.  It even has a birth certificate. His name is swan~swan. Thanks dear! Happy Valentines! L - Change the world Wow! Another death note movie, and this time L is the main character! The movie is about the last 23 days of L. I’m definitely going to watch it! Here’s the link to the trailer. JiangNan tour - 心情打开，钱包也打开 Shanghai Background Shanghai is divided into puxi (浦西) and pudong(浦东) by the huangpu river (黄浦江)。Puxi is the old shanghai while pudong is the new Shanghai. Without doubt, all the tall buildings are in Pudong. Since our trip is an economical one, our hotel is in Puxi… 南浦大桥 (Nanpu highway) It’s quite a spectacular highway, it is 7 storey and winds its way down like a nail. 城隍庙商业街 I must say it’s a true tourist attraction shopping place. Nice architecture. 小笼包 - Our first breakfast in China. Starbucks! 南京路 - Their famous shopping street A well-known local brand. 苏州 - 新加坡工业园 A place which will definitely rings a bell to all Singaporean. There are lots of condominium there, a heavenly place to stay in. Even the roads are named after Singapore. 乌镇水乡 - 威尼斯水乡 A very beautiful old town. Madame Tussauds Shanghai Andy Lau!!! Persona Trinity Soul Good news!  Found one new anime which looks promising, at least the first episode is interesting and I am waiting eagerly for the next episode.
