Fighting Spiders (2)

image

I blogged about fighting spiders here before. Today, I received a comment about fighting spiders on another post from a blogger by the name of Jeremy Lee. His account of fighting spiders is so fascinating and well-written that I could not resist but put it up here as another post.

Thank you for your very informative comments, Jeremy. I hope you don't mind that I am treating you as my guest blogger. Oh by the way, Marcus (your 1-year-old son?) looks so very cute!

Jeremy's comments are as follows:

Ahh spiders,

Used to keep many during my primary school days.

Had so many that I did not have time to feed all of them. So I ended housing them on my father's orchid plants. One male per pot. I stapled the leaves together so that it made instant HDB housing for the spiders, and they would most probably not run away.

Curious-er & Curious-er

random musings

The more I sit, watch and listen, the more I know.

The more I know, the more I will listen.

The more I listen, the more I uncover, discover and realise.

The more I discover, the more I realise I dont know.

The more I dont know, the more I want to uncover.

The more I uncover, the more I discover I dont know!

OH NO!

Im going to read more books. I will make it a point to finish all the unfinished books I have in my mess of a room.

[Meeting Residents and 7th Moon Dinners]

I visited residents at Blks 509 and 510 Hougang Ave 10 on Thursday evening, followed by a dialogue session at the void deck of Blk 511 for those living in the vicinity. Told everyone that the lift upgrading work will begin in November. There is bound to be some inconvenience but having the lift landing on every floor is becoming more urgent as the population ages.

One resident complained about dog poo being thrown which I gently requested the residents a floor above to avoid doing. Another complained about foreign professionals next door making too much notice which I also put across in the gentlest possible way. Best to keep small problems small.

But on the whole, there were few complaints. During the dialogue session, one Primary 5 kid (Jeremy) came up to me to ask if he could be my friend on Facebook. I said, of course. When I[...]

Went dinner at Ikoi for buffet this evening. Food is still as guuuuuud!!

My two dear friends, cow didi and starmist, decided that they would celebrate me and my boiboi’s bday as well. So they bought us a rly delicious cake!

Thanks for the effort! *Lurve!*

Of cuz, we had a lot of sashimi. The pic below shows the biggest platter of salmon sashimi I have ever seen. Are the generous or wad?! I like Ikoi, because the helpings are small, I get to eat lotsa stuff. Boiboi says the menu is small, service is slow and place is a little to tight. But I tink the fresh sashimi makes up for it. Even the chawanmushi tastes better lo! Hehe~

Great dinner. I ish a happy little tenshi now. =D

Let's hope Mr Peter Chan will continue to share with us his valuable recollection about this wonderful estate.

If I may borrow Swenson's TV ad's line : I'm so looking forward to Part 3!

Meanwhile, here's the PART 2 which all of us can slowly savour and delight in.....for the time being: Tiong Ma-Lu Part 2

Happy Shite

Whenever I turn on the TV in our room and notice the barely audible sound level,

a strange feeling would thug at my heart strings and and make my eyes moist.

Maby had turned down the volume last night coz I fell asleep halfway doing my work.

Poor boy come home early want to watch TV also cannot watch properly.

‘What if I can never do housework right, make you a decent meal nor

make lots of money in the future. What if all I can give you is love & fresh air.

Would you still love me? Forever?’

I’m soooo not a Dream Wife material.

So, just an update…

I told Maby that I don’t want to get married till I’m slim and have long hair.

So till then, Maby and I is just.. happily engaged.

Dad thinks next year is a better year for us both also. So there…
